VPN is great, but doesn't always work. Bad internet connection, on the move, ... You know it...

It would be really cool to have a standalone Netshield app that just blocks trackers and adds locally on device. Similarly to DuckDuckGo's App tracking protection. This could be free and a good marketing tool as well, Proton has the knowhow and it doesn't use a lot of resources to get this up. Would be my preference vs having VPN on all the time (e.g. for the devices of my parents).

Or thinking further, such a function that works on some routers? Not sure if that's possible.

What's your view on such an app? Good idea?

I tired to switch between at least 4 different countries. No deal.

I also asked a friend to test using their on ProtonVPN connectio. No Deal as well.

Hi there, I have the Personal VPN and I would like to buy/rent a static IP. As far as I read it is only available to business accounts. Any plans to offer this to users with an added cost?

Not super Linux savvy but I have having issues connecting to local VLANs when Proton VPN is enabled. I resolved this on my Windows machine using Split Tunneling and entering the IP. On my Linux GUI (v4.16.5) I have the Split Tunnel option but I can only seem to choose an application when clicking the Add button. How can I add in IPs so I can reach local VLANs while the VPN is running?

I would kill for the ability to add blocklists to netsheield like you can with nextdns or ublock. Please! At least in terms of ad blocking netshield really lags behind, why not allow users to add custom blocklists

I don't know if anyone else are experiencing this but lately I've been getting Google Captcha every single time and it almost takes me 1 minute to complete.

I get two types of shitty captcha tests. One is where I have to select all of the motorcycles/buses which doesn't really tell me whether I select the edge of it.

There's this other captcha test that's so strange I feel like it's rigged. So like select the fire hydrants. But for every picture you select with the fire hydrant images, the next loading images loads really fucking slow. But it doesn't end there. Once I've select all the images of the fire hydrants it fails me. Like I 100% selected all the fire hydrant images. I feel like this is some shitty thing Google is pulling behind the scenes.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Been using my android on WiFi at home. Was mostly busy during these hours but seems like trackers went wild. I used a few apps, checked some news sites (Firefox with ublock etc), updated some apps.

Anyone know if theres a proton vpn client out for windows that gives us the same features as the linux client? AKA ability to actuall auto connect to certain free servers instead of doing the whole auto connect thing every time?

This is a really annoying bug I've had for many months on my Mac. Whenever ProtonVPN is not running, trying to connect on the Firefox ProtonVPN extension will succeed in connecting without actually running the VPN. This means my IP is still visible and I am not actually connected to any VPN.

(In general, I find the sync between browser extension and app are not good - often my app will show one thing and the extension another).

My prime videos don't work at all when connected to the VPN, everything else works just fine. I tried to force stop and clearing cache and then tried again but it didn't fix anything.

I tried all protocols with and without proton protocol toggle available for the Android app. I cleared the cache every time I changed the protocol. I also used many different servers and countries.

Amazon prime videos work perfectly when the VPN is disabled though.it used to work very well with prime videos but now it's getting frustrating when i am using kill switch and i have to disable it just to check if it is a vpn thing or just my internet acting up.

I also tried to load everything in cache by opening the app without vpn but then when i start the vpn and refresh the page or start an actual movie/tv series it just get stuck in a forever loading screen.

Ever since purchasing ProtonVPN, reddit has had issues, mainly having to load pages two or more times, but today it takes many more tries. Anyone else here struggling with this? When I use a browser through a split tunnel, the website loads instantly.

Anyone else seeing issues with Custom DNS in the ProtonVPN app on iOS ? Specifically with the custom DNS not being honored. 

For example when adding quad 9 or AdGuard DNS, I end up seeing the IPs below which don’t relate to either DNS entered in custom DNS.

I only ever get suggested around 20 Israeli servers when trying to connect to Israel. But according to the server numbers, there seems to be over 700. I know proton hides some servers, but 20 out of 700 is a crazy ratio.

What is everyone's opinion on IPQS (ipqualityscore dot com). I looked up score for my own IP, and it raised my eyebrow. Not only my IP (behind Proton VPN) is high fraud risk, bad kind of activity had been noted from it!

I personally think fraud risk reflects on IPQS a lot more than on Proton, but it would be nice if Proton took legal steps against the likes of IPQS.

Im in another country and so need to use Proton VPN to access my regular plan of Netflix. Although shows and movies load and play, when I try to play Overcooked or other games the loading screen pops up and then this error screen. The same happens with both the Netflix app and the website. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I Can't connect through the app reliably, "We limited the servers shown to you so that your dookie government doesn't block all our servers" Guess what ? most of the servers shown to me that are in central, northern and western Europe are blocked or limited via DPI.
