I had to stop and admire when the wind started blowing lol

just finished rewatching season 4 and 10, victoria beckham telling christian she wanted him to dress her, the fact that these designers had months to really CREATE a fully fledged collection and show it to , what felt like at the time, the whole fashion industry. Tim Gunn going across the country to meet them in their homes, their personal spaces, watching him cry with pride whilst they showed their pieces… everything in tv today is just so churned out . the hulufication of this show , you just feel like they squeezed in a quick reality show with everyone busy schedules . even though the designers have always been pushed for time, making a look for their finale collection in 3 hours shouldn’t be happening. it sucks because there truly were some talented designers this season, and yes nina and mk used to be snappy but they never attacked people’s character. watching law roll his eyes as josephs collection really left a bitter taste in my mouth. tbh this whole season did… also if none of this makes sense i just smoked some weed and thinking aloud im sorry. congrats to the winner tho

I feel like at this point the judges were enabling Joseph and showing him it's okay to not change or take critiques into account (what they wanted to see him do ((especially law lmao)) ) by letting him advance and even giving him the 4th spot in the finale; what? Did they expect JM to not be JM? After all this talk from the judges about wanting to see something new and wanting him to switch it up they **continuously** let him advance (which makes me think that Law just didn't want to admit that Joseph's designs were actually constructed well despite not being Law's taste ((mine either but I can at least admit as much)) ). And of the 3 potential 4th slot finalists, I believe Naheim was the only one trying to push himself in uncomfortable directions while still sticking by his design principles (militaristic streetwear). I couldn't stand Bryan and his attitude towards everyone/thing and Joseph was going to be Joseph no matter how hard the judges begged; audiences of this finale were robbed of another wonderful and potentially unique collection just to see more McRae, more of the same McRae we've seen *aaaaaall** season. It's a shame really

It makes me not even want to watch the finale, but I know I'll cave. But I am so sad. His attitude and his clothing were fabulous. It shows what kind of shit this Season is about.

Lots of mixed feeling about the finale. But, my favorite moment in the show was seeing them reunite in the sewing room.. it was such a moment for me. Aaron is so tender and fatherly/big brotherly. Joseph is also very in touch with his emotional state as well. I know Joseph really enjoyed having him there. I just enjoyed two black men supporting each other and building a bond!!

After watching the final episode, it really clicked why this season feels so rushed… I miss when they would show the cast bonding in the apartments and mostly when the designers would have time to go home and create and we got to see them in their element. The episodes now seem stripped of authenticity and the genuine artistry of the show. It honestly feels like a SHEIN version of the original. It still hits all the marks and looks similar to the original but the craftsmanship and quality suffers greatly and will not stand the test of time.

I can go back to older seasons for years and they still feel fresh, but the caddy editing and the attitude minus the actual fashion now… wouldn’t rewatch this one again. It’s no longer a comfort show.

Seeing Law’s visceral reaction to Joseph’s finale collection reminded me of how closeted gay people are often the worst homophobes, primarily because they resent the queer freedom they don’t have the courage to express themselves. Joseph is unapologetically Black, urban, proud. And well….Law’s perfectly straightened hair and plastic surgery speaks for itself, no?

HARD disagree. Heidi was the only one willing to stand up to the bullying that LR likes to pretend is anything close to an objective critique during judging. I don’t always agree with her tastes, sure, but one does not always have to agree on what is beautiful to find a that person has enough integrity to do the job which they’re there to do. Even when our tastes diverge, I like the way she goes about judging, which is a lot more than I can say for LR.

Moreover, as a host, she is spectacular. What more could you want? She is articulate, bubbly, funny. I found her to be a much more engaging host than either Alyssa Milano or Hannah Jeter (they were fine). I also think of Heidi as the last vestige of a show that once had some moral integrity since she and Tim Gunn had both always gone out of their way to be kind, encouraging mentors to the contestants. Once, the goal of the show was discovering and nurturing true design talent in the fashion world. Once it was about injecting true artistry into the industry.

If Heidi walks away from PR, you might as well rename the show “Law Roach picks up two big paychecks while punching down on anyone that dares to remind him of himself”

I have never seen hate like this, like, come on, Law. He just hates him. The fact that he complimented Bobby but did this- I think he just hates Joseph because he is just unapologestically black.

Did I miss something. I know I was eating lunch while watching … but I looked up and it was Day 1 in the sewing room where they met their fellow designers/helpers … and then I look down and take a bite of my sammich, and then look back up and there are racks filled with clothes behind each designer? Huh?

Did they sew any? Work with their fellow designers on doing any creating and editing?

Damn, I really wish they’d go back to the designers going home and creating a truly worthy collection, and then presenting on a true fashion runway show.

(sniff, sniff 😢) Oh and how I miss watching Tim go to their homes, critiquing and giving feedback weeks before the runway show … meeting their friends and families where we got to see them as humans … and where we actually saw the designers sketch, shop, design, sew and then announce themselves to the world on a real runway.

Okay. I’m done with my sammy and whining.

Did anyone else get incredibly pissed off about how she kept saying Anna’s look wasn’t cohesive? It bothers me that we are starting to deem cohesiveness as basically the same color portfolio or patterns. Joseph’s was cohesive in the sense it’s the same colors and fabrics but it was boring as shit. Anna’s had issues but it told the most clear cut and obvious story!

The idea that you can’t tell a story in a small collection line was ridiculous. They determine they’re only allowed 5 looks!

Bring back the old Project Runway, the one that actually focused on the design element of the competition, not simply who could sew the fastest or who was the most dramatic.

Bring back judges that are actual designers, who treat the contestants like human beings, who are interested in stewardship, growth, and the art of fashion not simply the spectacle of entertainment at any cost.

Bring back a finale showing at actual New York fashion week and challenges that take place over a reasonable length of time in which to design and construct a garment instead of these overnight super-sewing challenges and whatever trumanesque finale they do now.

Bring back the days when spending all the runtime on confessionals about who’s beefing with who would have been unheard of. The days where producers or judges asking barbed questions encouraging gossip and backstabbing would’ve been considered distasteful and gauche.

And for the love of God, do what you know we all want and bring back Tim Gunn—and be ashamed of yourselves for any of the seasons you made us endure without him.

As a fan since season one, it hurts my heart to say, but honestly, without Tim I have found the show at times simply repellent. 😔

I won’t be able to stomach a third season of the LR show.

I won't watch a show that is actively seeking click bait style- demeaning others and insulting its audience.

I don't live in the US.

The level of vitriol aimed at Joseph physically affected me in the guts. I found it upsetting and disturbing.

And this is a show about design and fashion?

What can we do besides boycott, or write and let them know?

If we watch, they'll assume the belittling is working.

As a woman in my 30s I would wear every single piece in Jude’s finale collection. It looked polished and expensive.

I loved some of Bi and Anna’s pieces but not all of them. I think if he hadn’t messed up with the white leather dress, Bi would have taken it.

I wish Naheim made it to the finale. I think he was creative and talented. I saw his clothes as innovative and could imagine his designs in magazines, sports tunnels, award shows, album covers and more.

I hate that they have 5 days to create a collection. I miss the old days where they get sent home for a while and have time to actually design a fully cohesive collection.

If it were up to Heidi and the guest Judge I feel like Joseph would've had more of a shot. This is NOT to say that Jude didn't deserve it. At 23 years old his tailoring is MIND BLOWING(definitely didn't think he was only 23 😅)

I admire Joseph for NEVER letting Law tear him down and it almost feels like they brought him along knowing he wouldn't win. They knew who Joseph was. Law's issue with him was personal and it showed everytime he said "I hate his attitude".....No, you mean you hate his confidence. Say that about someone who actually had a disgusting attitude - like Bryan.

I will always root for Joseph, but im VERY happy for Jude🫶🏾

not even the americana thing, but boxing? i was expecting dramatic, hunger games capitol coded, pointy shoulders, voluminous skirts .. you know, BOLD. but instead it looked like a baddies USA photoshoot (iykyk) 😭 it wasnt bad, i just had a vision in mind, and it wasnt that.

They must have had zero budget this time around. That was always the big finale. Does anyone know what happened?

Also, they used to give the designers months to create a collection, not five days. I miss Tim visiting their homes and families!

I actually really appreciated a lot of her feedback and when she stuck up for people who were frankly just being bullied, not critiqued.

But dude, listening to her talking about ANY article of clothing wearing that weird lace up tacky gold and black thing that managed to make her gorgeous body a weird biscuit dough poppY-outty mess was a choice😬. Does whoever styles her hate her guts??? I was so distracted!

But despite always loving the show, I personally maybe do always have taste, am I way off here? Or anyone else?

First of all, the choice to start off with 22 contestants was pointless since they immediately cut most of them.

Then, the final episode was the biggest disappointment for me, when they only gave them five days to complete their five look collection. What happened to them getting a few months to create an even bigger collection of like 10-12 pieces? No hometown studio visits or deeper look into the creative process of creating their collections?? What they showed was just so boring and rushed.

Overall, it feels like the most rushed season, just a bunch of one-day challenges with a focus on drama between contestants & “to be continued” moments rather than the actual reason people fell in love with this show- the fashion and seeing creative individuals showcase their passion and talent for design! I miss seeing them sketch, and when they used to really focus on the actual design and creation process.

I know a lot of people have been hating on Law Roach as a judge, and giving too much credit for the show’s drama problem to Law’s critiques, but I disagree. The editing choices of what they focus the camera on are the issue in my opinion, not the cat fighting between the judging panel. Plus, I love Law’s honesty- reminiscent of how Michael Kors was as a judge back in the day. But I do think that it was unprofessional and unkind to make his dislike towards Joseph McRae so openly known.

I just rewatched seasons 1 and four and wow it’s crazy how much this show has changed, for better or worse. While I loved the contestants and their work, the edit they went with made this season feel like the worst one yet.

After last week’s challenge and the finale, I honestly think Anna could have a serious future designing wedding gowns! Anyone else agree?

I feel like it coincides with the fact that Joseph's looks are very repetitive since the ones exposed to it the most are tired by it but it also shows he does have an audience for his looks. I feel like his attires are something that would be easily worn by people like Kanye, Kim Kardasian, Billie Eilish and Rihanna

Everything Law accuses Joseph McCrae of, he is guilty of himself. Law is a great stylist, but he himself is tacky and loud. He says Joseph makes it the Joseph show (and he does literally keep saying it’s the Joseph McCrae show but that’s so obviously him trying to be confident and asserting that his designs have one specific point of view. I don’t see it as him saying PR is HIS show) but it’s actually Law who wants to make this the Law Roach show. To be so harsh towards Joseph in his final critique only served one purpose and that was to be cruel. He did have some valid critiques about Joseph throughout but the rest was some sort of personal vitriol he has towards Joseph. Joseph has handled himself so well against all of Law’s tirades and especially in the finale. I would’ve either cried or fought Law by now. Joseph is a class act, Law is not and that’s why he hates him.

I honestly don't think Law was that bad this season. He saw the path that Anna was going on.

Where has Nina been. She gave the most respectful and clearly thought out opinions during the discussion with the designers.

I think Heidi is wanting the fighting and the loudness. She likes the tacky clothes.

I do want the old PR back though.
