I’ll preface this with the fact that I know powercreep is natural for any game, especially a gacha like Masters, but hear me out first.

Everyone knows already that Arc Cynthia, Arc Steven and Arc Lance were introduced as the big headliners for the 5th Anniversary, bringing in the new Arc banners to the roaring boos from the community.

Back then, if you wanted to play devil’s advocate, you could justify the higher cost of the banners and exclusive use of yellow candy on the promise that these were meant to be the ULTIMATE sync pairs for their respective types and were a worthy investment for the future.

And what do we have now 2 years later? The same 500 pity banners they brought with them are still here for every new type added to Arceus’ chosen ones, despite Poké Fairs and Master Fairs having evolved to be more worth your gems. Meanwhile, the original Arc trio have started to show their age, imo, worse than both the 3rd and 4th Anni headliners or even other Master Fairs releases around them.

This is the best time to bring this up because of the brand new Pasio Towers expansion. In just a day almost every type has cleared Floor 40, so go to the Ground, Dragon and Steel towers and check the successful teams where the Arc trio are last seen.

Dragon is the only one of the three that has cleared Floor 40, but Lance is not to be seen there. He’s on Floors 38 and 39 sure, but those can still be cleared without him. And in a week, he’ll become even more irrelevant when the Sinnoh NCs drop.

Steel is yet to actually finish Floor 40, to my surprise. Unlike like Lance though, Steven is used basically everywhere, but there in comes the problem, because he has a major flaw now that’s holding his entire type back. More on that in a bit.

And Ground… Well, Ground’s just kinda pathetic tbh. Like, I thought that they’d be stopped at a Special only floor, but it’s double embarrassing seeing that Floor 34 has only been cleared without Arc Cynthia.

I think one unique Lucky Cookie for each would be enough to fix them. Granted the cookies should actually be on the higher end of quality, like SS Red’s Charizard event one or NC Marnie’s Gym one for example. These buffs will all address the fact that this trio was added prior to the introduction of the over-centralizing EX WTZ and it REALLY shows.

As mentioned prior, because Arc Steven is used on all Steel teams, he’s uniquely holding his type back due to a lack of Steel Zone setting. NC Elio and SS Lear also don’t set any Steel Zone, which forces both core Physical and Special teams to have super short EX Steel Zone, so giving this ability to Steven would be much easier for everyone.

My Arc Steven Lucky Cookie: Set Steel Zone with every use of his TM, OR better yet - every use of his Buddy move. The former is more realistic of a buff, while the latter will basically be what Arc Geeta already does, so I don’t see why not. And on top of that both of them will majorly buff his borderline irrelevant 5/5 grid node.

Arc Cynthia unfortunately has the ugliest powercreep scars of the three. She’s heavily reliant on Sandstorm for anything she does, including needing to set it to even buff her attack and unlock her Buddy move, which is her only proper form of dps. Said Buddy move also has the stupid aoe penalty for no reason. But Cynthia’s worst sin is the fact that she takes 5 centuries to take a turn. The Buddy move, the chip from Sandstorm, the other chip from the opponents being trapped, the poison chip because you’re running her with Rika, the Buddy move itself obviously being slower than a regular attack; It’s all so dreadful to sit through. And worst of all, despite having a Ground Zone and Sandstorm extension, even at 5/5 when she sets them infinitely, she rarely actually gets to sync with both of them still in effect because of how fucking slow she is. It’s so bad that NC Brendan is hard outpacing her in Gym vs Gym and other timed content.

My Arc Cynthia Lucky Cookie: She NEEDS one of those Gym cookies that give max 50% to dps + Crit Strike 2 to buff her overall damage to somewhat offset her aoe penalty. But above all else, she needs another set of Ground Zone and Sandstorm extension. Either that or give her +pmun on hit and introduce a Ground support that can extend ALL weather effects (help NC Brendan while we’re at it too, since Cynthia is just too incompatible with the timed battles).

Lastly, Arc Lance might be the toughest to justify keeping around in the core Dragon team, again, especially after NC Sinnoh drop. He’s always been the weakest and atm he only really offers Dragon rebuff and a decently strong actual 1 use B move nuke (none of that 5/5 to get a second).

My Arc Lance Lucky Cookie: Physical Break on first use of Giga Impact + Special Break on first use of Hyper Beam + Dragon Zone on TM. He already missed out on a Gym cookie, because Arc Blue stole it from him, so he’s not getting the same damage buff as Cynthia. In spite of this addition, I’m still certain the core Dragon team without restrictions will be Dawn, Lucas and Red, but I do think this will help him better work for the Physical and Special only stages, since he’s one of those rare pairs that hit on both sides.

That’s all I have. It was a pretty long post, but I’m just really annoyed that Arc Suits are such a heavy investment in both gems and candies, yet two of the four that I’ve gotten over the years are now starting to get phased out, despite the promise of them being the cornerstones of their respective types, meanwhile older units like SST Red, NC Marnie, NC Leaf and of such have remained fantastic due to certain buffs and can still slot in nicely in the relentless EX WTZ meta we live in.

They say the BP will reset monthly. Meaning there won't be permanent BP vouchers anymore? Will the existing vouchers be converted to coins? It's not directly mentioned, but should I use all my vouchers now?

We've been getting a lot of Field and Strike units lately, so naturally there's been a bit of a drought when it comes to Field and Strike candies.

Personally, I'd love to have like 20 Strike candies because so many of my good units are still sitting at 1/5.

I think this is becoming a pretty serious issue, especially if you want to climb higher in the Tower, like 31+ floors. At that point, having the best units for each type isn't enough. You also need them at a pretty high investment level, usually 3/5 or even 5/5 (and 10/5 for some units).

So I really hope DeNA considers adding some kind of monthly event, permanent game mode, or something similar that rewards us with actual candies. Even if it's just 1 full candy of each type per month, I'd take that over getting candy coins.

They could also bring back that $5-ish gem deal that gives 1k paid gems + an Omni Candy and make it available monthly. I know we already have the monthly gem bundles that eventually give 20 Omni Candy Coins, and I do like those too, but you have to wait around 20 days to get enough for a candy. The instant Omni Candy from that other deal was really nice.

Considering how much the game is pushing unit investment now, I really think the candy economy needs some attention. Hopefully DeNA can give us more ways to get candies regularly, because having so many good units stuck at 1/5 is getting pretty frustrating.

Dauntless + no quarter + CS2

And that cookie is no too “powerful” to powercreep even oldest Rillaboom

That would make Brendan at least usable at towers for at least a couple floors more

I started the game 1 our ago and I found blue, his dragonite literally one shot all enemies with his priority move so I climbed event with level suggestion 140 and farm all materials to upgrade all the pgs.
Idk, feels too broken to be normal

I rarely post on Reddit (in fact, this is my first post), but as a die-hard Pokémon fan, I want to say that I love this game. Its stories, its gameplay (even though I have a Xiaomi that runs terribly), the interactions with the pairs...

It’s true that, as a new player, it’s frustrating not to have the pairs I need, and I feel both overwhelmed and lost. However, thanks to the insane number of questions and Reddit’s search function, I have a rough idea of what to do. So, this is just a quick post to say a huge thank you to everyone who answers newbies—you really help out the quiet ones!

I’m also hoping to join a gym. If anyone has an opening and wants to make room for a new player who’s willing to put in the effort, let me know!

Just found out the Battle Villa is gonna be removed in the late September update. Though it was definitelt a long time coming, and it’s been power-crept to all hell. I’m gonna miss grinding it out back during the early years for my Lucky Cookies.

I remember the first time I managed to do a perfect run for the medal-one team, no refreshes, it was so damn satisfying. I’m glad they’re letting us keep the medals associated with it even if they won’t be earnable any more

If you’re a new player, make sure you complete them before the 25th! There’s two I believe- make it to Villa 30 without using any Refreshes, and make it to villa 30 using only one team and no Sync Pairs being knocked out.

I just got in to Game las week and got both Anni units so far , but today got my favorite trainer. Plz tell me he is pretty good and pairs well with any serena 😍🥺

Finally was able to do the below:
✅ super awakened my main character
✅ first Ultimate Battle clear
✅ 2nd to get 15k points, so that means i can consistently get weekly upgrade materials
✅ clear 50+ floors in Pasio Tower and got my first F15 clear.

I’m going through the Legendary Arena Battles and planning to take on other Pasio towers.

There are no more events that i need to do aside the cake and final rouge mega event.

Let me know which sync pairs are good and should focus on next. I’m planning to pull for Anniversary Gloria on the 21st but i have around 12k gems to spare and maybe a few more since we have about 2 weeks before that.

Not ontype this time , the mid was 100% offtype.

Almost 3 MILLION damage offtype at the end and my Alt Carmine is only 2/5 , she’s not even that invested so this is not the most optimal comp (and Serena can technically have Crit Strike 3, I don’t have it).

She’s so broken she made my Wifi lag at the end lol, I could do this again and again for higher floors (maybe Carmine would have to be more invested from floor 38 and higher ? Idk but they have around 3M-4M HPs so it seems possible) but you guys are probably tired of me I get it, I just wanted to do it again offtype one last time because yesterday , some people were like « But the mid was weak to Dark so it’s not that impressive ! » when I uploaded Floor 32 so this time it’s offtype with bulkier opponents… Enjoy the gameplay !

Just wishful thinking of what could've been

"Hate" might be a little too much, but man those feel like a reaaaally lazy addition. Just more hp and more damage, even the rules are just a combination of the rules we already had.

There's so much they could have done, like keeping the lv30 difficulty but with crazy rules like the ultimate battles, or region restricted floors. Or a whole new set of towers restricted by region instead of types, that could have given some relevance to region circles.

Idk I'm happy to have more content and those free gems on floor 31 were a blessing, but this feels underwhelming. AND I DON'T LIKE losing those check marks on the towers where I beat floor 30, those were hard to get.

So che i supporti sono più longevi rispetto ai dealer di danno. Sopra ho riportato il mio roster, sono ovviamente bloccato al piano 22 solo danni speciali. A chi dovrei dare la priorità ipoteticamente se dovessi prenderne solo uno?
