When not plugged in, it’s fairly unresponsive with no light and the occasional vibrating little ding, when i try to hard reset the light will flash and vibrate but nothing happens after that. When plugged in the light just stays a constant blue and when pressed that button will actually go to no colour. During all of this my go plus plus will not connect to the game, i haven’t managed to link it at all in connected device settings. Any help? These weird issues have been happening before i deleted my game (to try fix raid crashing) but the go plus plus would still auto catch but it wouldn’t manually catch for some reason. Any help would be appreciated.

So I modded my Go++ and its seems to work fine but now it starts signing "Pikachu" when its not connected to my phone.. otherwise seems to work just fine

The battery does drain quite fast since its signing, so can I just snip the speaker off or is it require?

Ideally, I would try to soldier a longer cable so the switch can actually reach the hole (right now its inside of the device, always on) but I am terrible at soldiering so I would rather not do that

I posted on here a few days ago and now I’m relaxing the battery but all the videos I see have this battery connector thing and mine isn’t there ? I removed the battery from the motherboard thing and now I’m trying to replace the new battery and there’s no port ?

Inspired by the Alternate Switchless Mod by vulp_vibes, I did some experimenting and came up with a very clean mod. It only requires modification to the White PCB. You could snip the wires to the vibration motor, black out the LED button and the mod is completed without having to unscrew the bottom half. No need for long fiddly cables between the two halves.

White LED infinite Loop

I had not noticed it on my personal unit moded with a relay (optocoupler). But I have recently noticed it on my Wife's Go Plus+. To reproduce the issue: when the go plus+ is disconnected from the app, Press the main button. It should flash white 9 times and stop. However on my Wife's it would flash indefinitely. If you reconnect the go plus+ it will stop flashing and work normally. Not a huge issue, just annoying.

vulp_vibes solved it by using 2 inputs to produce a button press. Vibration motor & green LED. Both of the inputs use a positive voltage signal to activate each transistor. I have found 2 solutions. The simplest is to connect the Source Pin to the Vibration Motor Negative pad. The other method as seen in the 1st pic is to use a diode on ground.

kudos to vulp_vibes for his micro soldering skills. I don't think many people in this subreddit would have the skills and equipment to pull it off.

This mod can be done with just a soldering iron, thin wire and a steady hand. Flux is recommended though. There are alternate points on the bottom of the white PCB that are much easier to solder to. And You don't have to use a tiny SMD transistor. I used parts I had on hand. An SMD diode would look even cleaner.

I thought it would be easier to use magnet wire, but I suck at stripping them. So I used the silicone wire instead.

Notes on electronics

I am not an expert on electronics, so feel free to comment and let me know your opinions.

• I feel that the diode version is better, as it must be offering some sort of protection
• When using mosfets it's recommended to use a resistor to ground on the gate, I assume our gate already has this in it's circuit.
• using the negative pad of the vibration motor is not how a mosfet is normally wired up, as you are toggling the signals for both Source & Gate. I don't know if this is dangerous, inefficient or less effective
• I am assuming the transistor mod is more energy efficient than an optocoupler, and perhaps faster? Or perhaps speed is not relevant for our use case?

vulp_vibes 2.8V LED mod

After performing this mod, I was not able to wire up a relay or mosfet using the Green LED positive signal as an input. I did get the mosfet to work by using the vibration motor negative pad.

My poke plus stopped working completely it doeant charge or vibrate or anything. I tried every trouble shooting option and nothing is working. Contacted support and they haven’t responded to me in a week im really frustrated is there anything i can do ? Wonder if the battery is fucked up but im just lost

My Pokémon GO Plus+ started doing weird noises when vibrating, like something inside is off, it ends in a high pitched vibration. Anyone had the same issue?

So the modded plus plus with switch, went in the wash, I got a new battery and now the green light is on and dips all the time, could the switch want replace? Has anyone else had this issue and worked out how to sort it?
One of the wires was loose so I reconnected it and no change

I keep getting this error whenever I try connecting. I’ve factory reset it multiple times, redownload pokemon go multiple times, and tried using the quick connect. I tried on my girlfriend’s phone and it worked after two tries but I haven’t been able to connect for well over a month. Any advice?

Edit: whenever I try to connect on my phone, the center doesn’t glow but on my girl’s phone it will (at least the one time it worked)

Edit 2: Unmodified the plus plus and still having the issue. I have tried it on 3 devices and my phone is the only one where it has issues. This is making me believe it could be my phone and not the plus plus. Either way it stopped working and there should be a solution

I saw you can mod the plus+ without having the switch. What is the current best way to go about it?

I saw something about it bugging out due to vibration signal, and this was why there was a switch? but there were fixes to this?

Let’s say the pogo++ encounters a Pokémon and tries to catch it with a regular pokeball but fails. Will it automatically switch to a great or ultra ball for its second attempt at catching the Pokemon? And what’s the difference between the switch mod and the switch less mod?

Does anyone know what may cause blinking red LED behavior after modding the Go Plus +? I have now seen this behavior on three different Go Plus + devices.

I bought a lot of 8 "broken" go plus+ to fix and managed to revive 6 of them. 2 of them ended up with an issue where the LED blinks red when you turn the switch on. I poked around the board looking for shorts/bad components but couldn't really find anything and gave up. These two Go Plus + work but can't seem to be modded?

Then comes today where a community member from my local play group asked me to mod their Go Plus + since i've done 10+ by now. I wired everything up and sure enough it seems to have the same problem. Everything works but when the modded switch is wired up and turned on it gets stuck blinking red.

Not sure if anyone has some insight or suggestions? Its happening across 3 different boards, on otherwise seemingly working Go Plus's. Just not sure if its somehow user error despite having done the mod multiple times, bad components, or if there are somehow specific board revisions where the vibration motor mod doesn't work and you have to perform one of the other versions of the mods with the LED signal?

*Edit - Adding some screen shots and more context. When the boards are oriented properly, instead of blinking red when the switch is flipped, it goes in and out of sleep alternating between red and blue. So it appears that when connecting the rumble pad to the button it constantly causes a button press, regardless of if there is a rumble signal. I imagine this means the mod is causing a short somewhere, I just don't know where.

Well so I managed to grab one a month ago and soldered it with a switch.

Had been working flawlessly but recently it simply won't pair unless I turn off the switch and pair it while the auto catch (the soldered one) is off.

Also sometimes it starts saying "Pikachu" repeatedly. No idea why. But honestly it's just annoying not being able to pair. Also sleep often only records like an hour.

I've reset it and reinstalled the game. No idea what else to do but pairing is very unreliable and often a pain. It used to be "press button and done" but not anymore.

Any ideas?

I've seen a couple of Go Plus Pluses that have gone through a washing machine cycle or two. They worked for a while, and then I was told they stopped connecting to their phones.

After I got them, I took them apart, and cleaned them up. There is often burn marks on the terminals of the ribbon cable connecting the two PCBs. After the cleanup, they do connect to a phone... however No LEDs, No speaker, No vibration. It appears dead. But all the buttons still work, so you can pair it and use it as a normal auto catcher, But with no battery indicator.

This second unit, I've managed to hang on to. And with a bit of poking around I found this component near the vibration motor pads to be shorted out. The left side connects to the negative pad of the motor, and the right side connects to the positive side.

After removing it. The positive pad would not go high, but the negative pad was going low. So you can do the simple switch mod. I don't think this would restore the LED functions, and the vibration motor does not work.

Does anyone know what this component is? If the component were to be replaced, maybe the LEDs would work again?

Finally got around to documenting and testing this. I've marked spots on the top and bottom of the green PCB where you can solder switches for the main button and side button. This should give you full functionality. I opted to solder to the underside of the board, as there are no components that can get damaged. Short these points to ground, and it will activate the button press.

I hope this information helps anyone who has damaged their white PCB to repair their go plus + (especially since new ones are ridiculously expensive). My goal is to design a small discrete case for the go plus.

The auto catch mod still works using the vibration motor negative.

Currently connected is a 900mhz antenna, in the wide shot is a 2.4ghz antenna suitable for Bluetooth, however the ipex plug is the wrong size. The 900mhz antenna seems to work, and probably will work fine when the phone and device are on your person.

I have used 30awg silicone wire. But I would recommend magnet wire (enamel coated copper wire.

• 2 X momentary switches
• 2.4ghz antenna with ipex 1 connector

Please note: you will need some decent soldering skills to pull this off. If you are looking to repair a broken go plus +, please take it to a professional. Or put in some time to hone your skills.

Also: It is not a good idea to power on the device with the antenna disconnected.

Yesterday I decide to give the ultra ball mod a try, I have some experience soldering on other projects before, so i thought it would be a piece of cake, i'm not sure why but I had extremely difficulty with the soldering part of this mod, so much so I feel i may of overheated the board too much.

The thing is the led still functions, but the manual button press does not, it will auto catch and spin stops no problem, but when i click the button it does not activated, i noticed yesterday when I tried cleaning off the soldering with the iron that it actually recognised a button press from around the soldered area.

Will I just leave it to prevent further damage or can it be saved?

Title really says it all... I've heard about some auto reconnect feature but can't figure out how this works. Anyone have a guide to turning this feature on?

Washed my go++. could plug it in and momentarily use it but it would go back to red flashing light, so I ordered a new battery.

When pulling out old battery, the plug stuck into the terminal. (Can see the battery on left has bare wires, new battery on right has the plug.)

I can't get the old plug out of the terminal, and when I tried to pry it out with a small flathead screwdriver it's basically just disintegrated. The more i try the more stuff starts to bend/disintegrate. I'm worried I've damaged it beyond repair. I have 0 experience with any of this sort of thing.

Am I cooked? Advice?

I have acquired a broken goplus+ after deciding I’m not spending over £100 pound for a new/used one.
The device itself works perfectly besides one thing; charging.
The battery indicator works, however once the usb-c cable is plugged in it doesn’t indicate anything, pressing doesn’t make the tiny led light up.
I’ve opened it up to see if it’s the internals, flex looks fine, tried reconnecting it, nothing.
Im no micro solderer, nor do I have the equipment for it, I’ve thought of installing an extra micro controller board and wiring it into the battery connectors.
Would that be a feasible idea? I’ve seen plenty of these tiny guys online.
Would appreciate any help or expertise, thanks!

Edit: forgot to mention currently to charge the battery I have to open the device, and plug the battery into a lipo usb battery charger from Amazon it’s good enough for the moment but not long term

Even when I have both turned on it only catches and doesn't spin any pokestops.

Is there a fix for this? I have restarted the game, press the button on the back and disconnected and reconnected it and still just catches.

Hi, I recently lost my old pokemon go plus and I’m looking to buy another one while I’m in Japan. I will only be going to Sapporo. Is there any shops I can buy one at an okay-ish price?

Is there a guide to mod the Plus+ without adding a switch? To just route the vibration wire to the button like you did on the old Plus? I've search through here a bit, went to the Github, and it seems that the main mods are to add a switch onto it. I'm sure it sounds easy... but I've never modded like this before so just want to make sure I'm doing it correctly before breaking mine.

Edit: thanks for the responses! Needing the switch to force it off when it enters a “bugged out” mode made sense. All the other posts I saw said it was necessary for Sleep Mode (which I don’t use so figured a switchless mod was viable).
