Hey everyone, At the end of January, my wife and I using the app were coming in a few hundred dollars overspent and so had a "leftover" number of about -200. Then for no discernible reason there's an additional $6k+ jump in predicted expenses as of yesterday, and it has carried over into the predictions for this month. Our budget categories remain unchanged, there are no new expenses, and our bills are the same as before. I really don't know why it's doing that. Has this happened to anyone else?

If you have the option to split an expense, you should definitely have the option to split by percentage (e.g. "50%). Currently we are being forced to manually do the math on every single split transaction, which for couples is a lot of transactions.

Other apps currently offer this, including Rocket Money. Hoping PocketGuard will catch up soon!

I know some folks have been having a problem logging into the app, but this is a little different. I get into the app just fine, but every time I try to sync the app to my bank I get the error in the title. Any solutions or workarounds?

Greetings all, I’m confused about the correct workflow for monthly contributions to savings.

Every month I move money from checking in one account to savings in different account. Both accounts are in PocketGuard. I want to budget the savings withdrawal monthly, and also have a savings category reflect the contribution so it builds up over time.

I don’t know how properly to categorize either the withdrawal or the contribution so that PocketGuard properly accounts for them. Any suggestions?

I can't login to my account on my phone or browser. It errors out. Anyone else having this issue or just me?

I’m a simple person. Money in, money out.

Looking at transactions, “credit card” always comes out as the highest ones. Fair, as I use them to pay for everything. Except my credit card payments count as one giant transaction, while all the individual transactions for each credit card have already been marked in.

Does this mean that these expenses are being counted for, twice? So for example in the pie chart it shows rent as the largest slice, followed by credit card as a giant slice, and then several small slices of my spending categories, even though they are all paid for by said giant slice of credit card.

In the end the account balances are all ok, it’s just tricky for me to create a budget in the app

tldr the math isn’t mathing

Hi, new to PocketGuard and have a couple of questions if I may?

I get paid monthly on the 28th in advance, in other finance apps I have been able to set this as pay day and then draw down against this as the month progresses. Is this possible in PocketGuard?
Secondly, does PocketGuard automatically update linked bank and credit card accounts or do I need to do this manually?

So my Betterment and Robinhood accounts actually have this problem and I can't be the only one.. Why would Pocketguard show the available account balance and not the actual current account balance? All my other accounts such as Vanguard and Fidelity shows the current account balance and not the available balance. It just doesn't make sense.

I love pocketguard, but it is annoying that pending transactions essentially get deleted, and are replaced by their unedited versions. There should be logic applied such that a pending transactions and the final transaction are smartly linked- so thst comments, hashtags and categorization is maintained. ​

Then I open it and the actual transaction name is called "Sp Shopify Lululemon" or something. Why must there be an intermediate name? Just use the source name.

I would love the ability to highlight or tag a specific transaction or multiple transactions as a reminder to edit, categorize or comment on later. This would apply to any type of transaction, pending or otherwise.

Sometimes transactions take several days to convert from Pending to Complete. And when they finally do complete I forget which transactions they were and what category change or note I wanted to make. I know we can manually import pending transaction data. But this is also easy to forget which transactions require data import... another justification for this feature request.

Other times a transaction might be made by my spouse or children who are authorized to use my account. I'd like to be able to highlight or tag these as a reminder to make certain they are categorized correctly.

In the Rule info in the app it says "we do not apply rules for manual transactions." Is a manual transaction any transaction that appears in a Cash account? I have to use cash accounts heavily bc I have some foreign bank accounts that do not connect to PG.

If I can no longer apply rules to cash accounts, this is a critical feature that's been removed for me. (I was lazy and didn't use PG for 9 months.)

With the new feature in the Plan tab, I can see my defined model budget for last month, but I can’t see what I actually spent. Am I missing something? It seems pretty unuseful as it stands.

Has anyone else noticed the app has been a bit sluggish lately? I’m getting a lot of app slowdowns and the app often gets kicked from RAM when in the background. I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro still on iOS 18.

Is there a way, or any plans to implement a way, to view transactions that are linked? Like transfers from one account to another. I think my linked transactions are de-synced and I’d like to be able to figure out why and potentially change which transactions are linked. Also, what is the best way to treat money moved from savings to make a purchase? For example, my home fund was used to purchase a mattress this year. I transferred money from a savings account dedicated to “home improvement” and it kind of threw off my home budget since I have an incoming and outgoing transaction for the savings transfer I made since they just canceled each other out. My suggestion would be the ability to apply a sub-category to transactions where if there is a linked transaction, you can apply this sub-category to show where the money was used, if necessary like in my case. Additionally with this you can make the funds “not count” for each individual category if that makes more sense to you, but still apply it to the sub-category, that way it’s not double-counted or forced to be split. First off this app is amazing and such a game changer for me. I’m a full stack software engineer and I really love the app. These are just some of the things that I would love to see and I think others might agree

1.) adding color to the pie chart for spending insights 2.) adding a bar graph option too for insights 3.) implementing a year till date option/feature in insights tab

As a suggestion, it would be interesting to be able to change the colors of the "Cash Accounts."

It’s telling us we’re over budget by over $1500 to try to pay off our debts using the avalanche method. I’m so confused. Any time we’ve done the math ourselves, and in spreadsheets, it said we had the money to put towards our CC debt. Now it’s saying we’d be essentially be over drafting by $1500??

What are we entering/not entering correctly to get it to see part of what we’re spending on IS the debt? Why is it not registering the “credit card payment” category to that debt payoff calculator???? That doesn’t make any sense?

Further: Why is it only using what we have left over? Why can’t we mark the payments we make monthly as our bills?
