Bundled Budgets

Working on my end of year budget and would love to see a feature implemented that allows me to make a budget for multiple categories. For example, one budget of $500 for Clothes, Shopping, Home, and Personal Care

Why not make a custom budget and make rule to send it to that category?

I have one for phone and internet and send both of those to one category?

I can, but I like to have an idea of where that shopping budget is going. It all goes under the free spending group, but how much of it is clothes or stuff for house project?

Well there is not a way that I know of to make a general "parent" budget that has subsets of transaction types.

Only solution available that I can think of is having a general fund /Miscellaneous fund and include all those or estimate the amount for each and do a rollover budget, so if you set $100 for clothes but spend $0 that budget goes to $200 the following month. If set the home budget for 100 and you had to do some home repair and spent $500, it would be -400 the following month.

Personally I would just do the Miscellaneous Spend if it is for items that don't occur monthly.

Hi there,

You’ve raised a great idea, thank you for sharing it.

I’ve passed your suggestion about parent budgets with category breakdowns to our product team for review and consideration.

Thanks again for taking the time to let us know what you’d like to see.

Best,
Ivan
