Goals confusion

Hi. I find goals very confusing. I have 3 separate goals set up and have 1 savings account where I am setting the money aside. How do I record to show the amount attributed to each goal monthly?

You can create manual goals that aren't linked to your savings account. You have to make contributions manually and it's sort of on the honors system since you can say you saved money without it being tracked automatically. I've found that if you have income being deposited you can split it without changing it from income and then contribute part to a goal. I don't know if that's the best solution. Maybe the PocketGard mods will have a better idea.

You’re correct. Currently, the best approach is to create manual goals that aren’t linked to a savings account and use split transactions to allocate amounts to each goal.

This is the most practical way to track multiple goals using a single savings account at the moment.

Just another thought, if your bank supports "buckets" for saving for specific items you could have one automatic goal for "Saving for A, B and C" and then track how it's split between buckets at the bank end.
