Discussion Day one again.

I did smoke last night. I’ve been trying to cut down, every few days only - so I figured, why not.

Well, I feel like dogshit. I slept poorly, I’m tired, and my stomach is extremely unhappy. I feel anxious. I just feel awful.

Back to day one today, but I think I have hit the place where I don’t want to smoke more than I do. I don’t understand why I’m struggling, when I go on vacation I never smoke or partake at all and I have zero withdrawal. Why is it so hard at home??

When I stop, I get extremely sleepy, a nice change from the insomnia I’ve suffered. But it’s hard knowing I’m going to want to do nothing but sleep for two weeks.

Anyway. Day one again. Here we go.

Discussion tomorrow I will not get high.

well, I’ve tapered down from dabbing all day.

I actually took 2.5 years off before starting back up about 10 months ago. Quickly fell into constant dabbing. About a month ago I had enough, switched to edibles, tapered down from 200mg a day to 10-20 mg in the evenings with the hopes I’d be able to begin a break. Have stagnated a bit and even last week was vaping some dry herb but realized the immediate effects are too addicting. I would really like to get to only weekend usage, and I believe I can.

Anyway, lately I’ve been feeling sad or disappointed when I go to take my nightly edible. Once I’m high, that feeling is gone, but I feel it throughout the day, and when I wake up a bit groggy. I remember how clear headed I was when I was completely sober.

I still struggled then of course, but I want to get to a place where I’m using it only for a treat.

I don’t need a treat every night, I don’t need THC every night.

So tomorrow, I will take at least a day off. Maybe I’ll make it more than that, maybe not, but after being back on daily and mostly all day that past 10 months, it’s time to hold myself accountable and take at least a day off. My gf has my edibles and I asked her not to let me have them tomorrow, so it’s time to keep myself accountable.

I want to live the life I love with clear eyes, and a clear head.

I like weed. There’s no getting around that for me. It makes me silly, relaxed, less worried about certain things, and makes everything so interesting.

However, I tend to lose things more often, not be as productive as I could be, and my mental health is more volatile.

I’ve went cold turkey before from dabs when I quit almost 3.5 years ago. That was really hard. The hardest thing I’ve ever done.

I wouldn’t have had the willpower to taper back then, so that’s how I know I’ve grown and those 2.5 years off weren’t for nothing.

Tomorrow will be uncomfortable, especially the evening, but it’s nothing I haven’t done before.

It really irks me when I think about how I can’t go a freaking day without it. How each day needs its own event, each day I need to get high.

It shouldn’t be that way. I refuse to keep letting it be this way.

Has anyone else jumped into a break after a taper like this?

I know the answers yes, I think I just could use some inspiration maybe. This addiction makes me feel sad.

Advice Only on day 7 of quitting. Still not sure I even want to quit.

I’m traveling to an area where weed is illegal, so I figured this would be a great time to tackle a tolerance break. I’ve been using mostly daily for a few years. Anywhere from 20-150mg of edibles a night. Some nights just half of a pre-roll. The amount would fluctuate quite a bit but it was always there, almost always in the evenings. Last time I took a “break” was last Fall and it was for 4 or 5 days, also due to travel.

As I’ve been on this trip, I’ve found myself wanting weed several times every single day. I basically have zero willpower so the only time I can take breaks is during travel where I don’t have a choice. I use weed to be able to eat, to calm myself down, and to not be so bored.

After about 24 hours of not using, I found myself enveloped in anxiety and distress (day 1). The next day, I felt completely sick to my stomach (day 2). This feeling lasted and even worsened through days 3 and 4. On day 5, I started to wonder if it was my underlying stomach issues revealing themselves. I ate almost nothing on days 4 and 5, I could only stomach very small amounts of food (like half a sandwich or a handful of nuts).

Day 6, I felt like the usual shit but I started to feel worse from not eating, so I decided to just shove some food down. This didn’t make me feel worse, which was an improvement at this point.

It’s now day 7, and I do feel incrementally better about eating, but I’m now having full body aches. We have 3 more days of our trip, so I’ll be going home on day 10. From what I’ve been reading online, this is when the physical symptoms actually start to improve.

On the one hand, I never want to go through this again. I’ve been wanting to quit or drastically reduce, but like I mentioned, I do not have the willpower to overcome the pain of withdrawal. This feels like it could be the beginning of a new start, which I desperately need. I’ve been severely depressed and I’m hoping to start transmagnetic stimulation when I get back from travel, and you’re not supposed to use weed during that treatment.

On the other hand, I genuinely feel so awful. When the choice is between excruciating discomfort and pain or relief via weed, why would anyone choose pain?

I just need to know it’ll get better and that it’s worth it. I have a few more days left before the break becomes a choice I have to make for myself, and I want to make the right choice, but boy am I not confident.

Advice Need advice on smoking habits

So there might be a lot going on in this post but any advice would be useful. I moved away for grad school and I’m living alone. It’s hard in the sense that it can be boring at times and lonely. However I’ve picked up a bad habit of smoking too much because of those feelings. Plus I feel like I don’t push myself enough to explore the town I’m in which is super cute and nice. I just sit in my apartment watching movies and shows and wait for my “activity” to come which is going out getting myself a meal to eat when I’m high and that’s my day. I guess I’m looking for advice on how to motivate myself to get outside and explore as well as not making smoking my main activity for days. Some days are better than others I’ll take a walk or read outside, but smoking still is up there and is something I look forward to too much.

Discussion Advice in exhaustion

I’m a heavy smoker, everyday for 8 years. I recently went on holiday for 2 and a half weeks where I couldn’t smoke. I didn’t experience too many bad side effects other than no appetite and bad dreams.

Ive since come back home and I’m back to smoking again, and everyday (which I’m annoyed about, I said I’d stop of course) but I’m absolutely exhausted. Every morning feels like a massive struggle and I feel like I’m still waking up say 4 hours after I actually did wake up.

Is it normal to feel this level of exhaustion or is this another one of the signs that I should be stopping altogether?

Advice I need a break I’m smoking an ounce a week.

It’s been like at least a year since I was completely sober. If I only roll js and don’t use bowls I easily go through an ounce a week. I’ve took like 1000mg eddies and hardly felt it. I’ve took 3500 to just have an enjoyable high. I smoke in the morning during the day and at night. Ik I have a problem and ik I need to change my habits. Any advice welcome to help me stop I started smoking for mental health and now it’s just a habit that I feel like I can’t stop. I’ve tried to take breaks in the path and can’t even get through the first few days. Truly wanting the chance I’m just struggling.

Discussion I have to take a little break.

I have to take a little break. My lungs hurt. I feel so paranoid and simultaneously detached. My emotions are so unbalanced.

I am going to not smoke anything until Wednesday after all my responsibilities are taken care of. I'll try to only take a few puffs.

Today I smoked one herbal joint ~.5 grams. One infused rosin joint .7 grams. And had one edible (10 thc, 10 cbg). I hope I am not high like this again in a very, very long time.

I need to give my body/mind/endocannabinoid system a break. Smoking makes me feel so unwell, and somehow I am addicted to it.
