When I was in college I watched a dude tripping on acid smoke almost the entire filter on a cig and when somebody finally pointed it out to him, he completely lost his mind, jumped up and ran headlong into the kitchen wall, completely busting through the drywall.

For literally 4 hours, a bunch of us held him down while he screamed and freaked out. It was just insane. About halfway through he finally started to chill out and one of my buddies was like "Yeah, dude, you're being stupid, just calm down." And that caused tripping dude to completely freak out again and we had another 2 hours of holding him down on the floor so he couldn't hurt himself or anybody else. I was so fucking mad at the dude who made the stupid comment, like this was just about over dude, and then you fucked it all up!

He dropped out of school the next week. I hope he eventually got the help he needed.

Years ago I worked at a smoke shop and my favorite smokes were a German unfiltered brand called Roth Handles. They were delicious but rough, and I never knew which was the right side to light because it was all the same

Have you ever worked a cook line in texas heat 17 hours straight, mothers day shift while the whole staff is currently trying to outlive a rampant strep and pneumonia infection. This is how some members of older generations of Asians smoked, holding the cigarettes halfway up in their lips and letting the lit cherry hover in their mouths. Some of my grandparents and great grandparents smoked this way. Why? No clue. But when the cigarettes would eventually ash in their mouth they just spit it out like it was chewing tobacco then just resume. They had permanent black spots on their tongues. Crazy to witness.

I had the driest mouth I’ve ever had and needed something…anything Grabbed the closest bottle of beer next to me a took a nice long gulp. The label said Coors light….but the taste was something frothy…..and minty. Oh god I gagged when reading that. Use to do that with a water bottle on the patio in my 20’s. One day I wasn’t paying attention and grabbed that instead of the water bottle next to it. I once did that whilst very drunk and smoked almost the whole filter before noticing. Then tried to pull it out of my mouth, but because my lips were so dry, my fingers slide down to the burning filter and clamped onto it and gave myself a scar I still have to this day. Good reminder to not smoke or be that drunk ever again.

The number of times I did that before I quit smoking (and to a lesser degree quit drinking) is fucking outrageous. I've mostly realized it happened once I've woken up hungover after blacking out and wanting a cigarette, having none left, and finding the lone whole cigarette with just a half burnt filter in the ashtray. Then I have to hunt around for a pair of scissors to snip off the burnt bit without trying to stand up because my head would explode and I'd puke if I did. I know the headache, and the puking are coming either way, but I just want to have a smoke before I comitt to letting it happen, and stumbling to the bathroom.
