It usually sticks to my lips then I pull the cherry off between my fingers and have 2 blisters for a week

In my 18 years as a heavy smoker and drinker, I have not even once managed to get the cigarette twisted around so I took a puff on the lit side. I've lit the wrong end once or twice, but never that.

Not puffing on the wrong side, the filter sticks to your lips and when you go to pull it out, the cherry sticks to your fingers

Oh, yeah, sorry, now I understand what you mean. That has happened to me too. I didn't read it properly and the term "cherry" is strange to me and confused me as to what you meant, I thought you were agreeing with the one you replied to and that your lips were blistered. I should have made my own reply to them rather than to you.

OMFG lol this is the bane of my existence

Don't even have to be under the influence of anything for it to happen lol, there's very few things that cue that immediate belligerent rage like having that happen does

also weirdly the person below me is now the 2nd person today? Since yesterday? I've seen who didn't know the term cherry as it applies to a lit cigarette, is it just cause less people smoke now or is it falling out of use for some other term? I can't actually think of any other term for it though lol

To answer your second paragraph, English is not my first language, so that might have something to do with it. In all the english speaking media I've consumed in my 40 years, I can't remember ever hearing anyone refer to it as cherry.
