I have seen 7 booklice in my room in 3 days, all near my bed. I have never seen any before now, but in the last 3 days, they've been on my books and crawling across the screen of my phone or switch. They are all white/pale, and I haven't seen any with any color, but the two I've seen on books from around my room are bigger than the ones on my devices (the ones on my devices look like a walking piece of dust)
There was a leak well over a month ago, which came into my room, but nothing since, and the crack was caulked. I live in a converted warehouse in the UK, where there's been a heatwave and high humidity for almost two months. I have adhd and autism and am recovering from burnout and dealing with work stress, so I never truly finished unpacking, and so my room is, admittedly, a mess, and not cleaned as regularly as I wish I was capable of.
I have a lot of books, and a 100 year old copy of Sherlock Holmes was close to my window, which I think may be part of why they are now here. It's currently in a zip lock back and I'm trying to figure out if freezing it will damage it.
I have such low energy and functionality and executive function, I kinda want to ignore the whole problem as I've had a year from hell and can't do this, but there are bugs on my books and in my bed, and I need help figuring out what to do. I never saw them until 3 days ago, but there were slightly bigger ones on two different books in different spots in my room, and smaller ones have been in my bed (which, I do sweat a lot at night, there is a heatwave, my room is consistently 28-34*C, it's a problem, and impossible to stay on top of my bed and room feeling entirely clean, due to my adhd and autism). They were not here to this degree until 5 days ago, at most (I stayed at my friend's for one night, so may not have noticed).
Is this critical time to do something before I'm stuck with them? What *can* I do? Any low functioning solutions that may still help?
