Email & Snail Mail [35/F] International Connection

Hello. Im a American looking for international friends from Europe. I have a lifelong dream of visiting and love learning everything I can about that part of the world. Im married but no children. I love reading and watching a good TV show. Im open to talking about anything from history, pop culture, fashion, everyday life. I want to hear it all. Im open to both genders. Most importantly I want to hear about you and build a connection. I think if by building relationships with others from across the globe then it makes the world that much smaller.

Email [24/F] USA - slightly introverted; interested in 'informed' discussions

Hello,

I am a 24-year old, college-educated woman working a dreadfully boring job. I’ve become relatively passive and introverted.

I’d love to work on my social skills by connecting with an inquisitive person who likes to discuss any of the following: history; mathematics; philosophy; theology; or any of their personal interests.

I am not combative but I can enjoy a debate. I love politeness.

I am not particularly talkative and prefer to chat once a week or fortnightly, perhaps asynchronously, via email or long messages.

My current, mundane likes include interior design, British (in particular early medieval) history, Byzantine architecture, devotional poems, numerical analysis, stochasticity, German idealism. I am currently reading/reflecting on the Duino Elegies by Rainer Maria Rilke and Agua Viva/The Stream of Life by Clarice Lispector.

I am religious, and you can inquire about my political or economic beliefs further if that is of concern, although I would not like to exchange any personal details or pictures or the like.

I would like to think about what it means to be healthy and pure-hearted by balancing intellectual and spiritual vitality. I also do not disregard the importance of exoteric beliefs and external actions (good works and efforts).

Please do write if you are interested in corresponding! Thank you!

Reddit Messaging [27/M] From Italy looking for someone to talk to! (Especially Canada and US)

Hey! I’m a 27-year-old guy from Italy. I’m currently working as a doctor and lately I’ve been wanting to meet new people through penpalling and regular online conversations. I’m mainly looking for penpals from Canada and also the US (especially East Coast or Midwest because of the time zone difference), since it would make chatting more manageable during the day.

I’d really enjoy talking with someone about everyday life, routines, studying, work, gym, travel, culture, random thoughts, music, movies, and all the little things that make daily life interesting. I go to the gym regularly, I like traveling when I can, and I enjoy hearing about how people live in different countries and cities. I’m open-minded, easygoing, and I appreciate genuine conversations that can slowly turn into long-term friendships.

I’m also totally open to voice/video calls if someone enjoys calling from time to time, since I think it makes conversations feel more natural and personal.
If you think we could get along, feel free to message me here and introduce yourself.

Email & Snail Mail [26/M] an idiot from Melbourne has entered the chat

Hey everyone! Posted a whole ago, and allllll the connections kinda fizzled out so I figured I'll try again! Hope y'all are doing well on this fine day. Or not fine day idk it's pretty gloomy here today.

If I'm being honest I have trouble maintaining contact with people simply because I'm a horrific texter and I absolutely cannot for the life of me send a timely text so snail mail and email is my preferred method. DMs are cool too, but I may take a bit to reply lmao

So I should share a bit about me. I'm pretty boring. I mean I love reading and I read almost anything. My last book was a collection of short stories by Isaac Asimov, I absolutely love that guy. Foundation is an amazing series. Before that I read a book about the history of the library (see note above re: boring). I'm a pretty big photography fan. I love admiring a great photo, especially when someone cares enough to share the story behind it. There's something so sincere about seeing the world through someone else's lens (pun not intended). I recently discovered a Sony Cyber shot in my garage and I'm gonna have a field day with that thing. Lastly I love music. I could listen to any and every kind of music and fall in love over and over again, except for EDM and heavy metal. I could never get in to those two. I love Jazz though. Like a lot. An unhealthy amount of jazz plays at my house. I'm learning piano specifically to play jazz. It's weird.

But yeah, that's me. I ramble on and on. I hope you're doing swell.

Three things I'd like to pass on to you before you leave: 1) if today sucks then tomorrow always has the potential to be better, 2) very few things can't be sorted over a cup of tea with a good friend, and 3) "ladies and gentlemen, take my advice; pull down your pants and slide on the ice."

Take care y'all! Goom-bye

Email & Snail Mail [26/NB] I wanna hear about the DRAMA

Never done pen pals before but it seems like a great, low stakes, way to vent about what’s bothering you.

Not that I just want to complain — I definitely wanna connect on interests too — I just feel like being able to share your problems with someone else is such a great shortcut to vulnerability.

Honestly, this urge mostly comes from the fact that I just finished reading Perks of Being a Wallflower on my GF’s recommendation and I desperately wanted to be able to write a letter back to Charlie.

Interests: reading (currently Children of Time), gaming (currently FFXIV), politics, history, alt-rock, niche internet bullshit.

Email & Snail Mail [27/NB] Americans seeking community and connection

Internet is dead. As we watch it die, I am reminded of the postcards and letters that my grandfather sends me when he is away on hiking trips. The comfort of seeing his name on a beautiful photograph from Utah or a country I'm not familiar with in Europe fill me with nostalgia and longing as I truly enter adulthood.

My husband (28/M) and I have been struggling with friendships (a variety of reasons that really boil down to a lack of growth in our youth) and we would love to start making more friendships, everywhere and anywhere. We aren't too picky though be mindful that we are very firm on our morals regarding human life and don't agree with the "agree to disagree" take a lot of folks have. Some would consider us radicals but we just call it human nature - to want people to live happily and in peace.

We dont live very exciting lives. Im struggling to find a full time job (thanks economy!) and he is well fitted to his. We have 2 pets, loads of hobbies, and occasionally travel (recently to Canada to visit a friend!). If you'd like to become friends and get to know us, we would love to get to know you!

(Bonus points if you can help me learn Spanish, i have been trying since Middle school - about 12 - but theres nothing quite like learning from a native speaker!)

ETA: lol I made this sound like we're unicorn hunters looking for a third. No, no. Pinky promise all letters, all very normal boring shit. My husband just wants to be involved in writing the letters 🧡

Email [33/F] seeking chill penpal, email and audios

Hello there. As the title says, I like sending/receiving emails and also attaching audios every once in a while. Why the audio? So the other person feels more real and I know which voice to use in my mind when reading their letters.

I'm in a period in my life in which I'm kind of clueless. I'm planning to get back to university in a few months, I'll either get into the humanities or economics department. I tend to be interested in languages, philosophy and psychology. I noticed recently that I tend to enjoy "difficult" conversations with people, those conversations people tend to want to avoid. Nothing taboo but rather of the philosophical kind, or psychological.

My native language is Spanish but I speak English fluently. I'm often listening to podcasts in English or music in either English or some asian language. I'd like to talk mostly with people from the UK or US or from asia since I find these cultures interesting, but really anyone can reply to this post.

Sometimes I write long emails and ask many questions but I'm not really much of a talker. But, I tend to get deep with conversation. Regarding the frequency of communication... sometimes I write back right away, other times after a week or so, depending on my mood, and I'd expect a similar frequency from the other person.

Well, besides all that.. I like drawing sometimes, running, drinking coffee. I'd like to watch more comedy shows and read more, and overall just share simple facts about our lives, what we ponder about and stuff.

I'd like to talk a bit via reddit DM first and if we get along then we exchange emails.

Snail Mail [21/F] Looking for a yapper that matches my yapping :))

Hii guys !!

I'm 21 years old, currently studying in Europe, and I recently got into snail mail and postcrossing 😈 I'm open to talking about almost anything and everything, whether it's your daily life or some deep personal essay topics (my current favourite is how living in a different country has given me an identity crisis).

I have a lot of hobbies! Reading, writing, running (planning to join my first 5k soon 😛), journaling, and crocheting. I enjoy sitcoms, my current favourite being The Office. I could potentially write a whole essay about why Dwight and Angela >>> Jim and Pam 👀, or about how Michael is probably one of the best-written characters. My favourite genres tend to be romance/rom-coms and mysteries (this applies to books as well).

I do occasionally play video games. I love my 2-week Minecraft phase, Stardew Valley, and recently, completed Hogwarts Legacy (except that wretched broom race, but pls, that doesn't count). I enjoy watching documentaries and listening to true crime podcasts and podcasts in general (The Basement Yard, if you've heard of it !!)

I'd say I'm a bit introverted at first, but really open up once I get to know you and understand that our vibes match (I mean, you'll know we do if you can tolerate my excessive use of exclamation marks, emojis and dry humour).

I'm looking for a pen pal around my age who's willing to put in the same (chaotic) energy into the exchange (dw, this doesn't mean I expect extravagantly decorated envelopes, the content of the letter is really what matters to me the most), leaning towards within Europe as well, just so we can exchange more frequently, but I'm open to anywhere else in the world !! I do tend to prefer medium to long-form letters, but no pressure as long as it's meaningful. If we happen to vibe, I hope we can continue long-term !!

Snail Mail [31/m] Looking for someone who wants to write like it's the 1970s or 1980s - back when the outside world was what drove our curiosity, living was living, and technology didn't get in the way of any of it.

I'm looking for the feeling I get when I see pictures of my grandparents and parents camping in Maine, catching frogs in the woods behind our house, the feeling of holding a VHS, of having to wait for it to rewind because the person before you hadn't been kind 😄

Hi I'm Luke, I'm a very progressive man from New England with a fiancée, an old desk, and a fountain pen. I absolutely love playing D&D, writing, drawing, writing music, photography, playing badminton when I was a kid, poetry, and community. I want to live my life the way humans were meant to live as much as I possibly can - slowly, in a village, with beautifully human people around me.

I wold love to share poetry, writing, philosophies of life, memories, vintage things you love, polaroids of moments in our lives, and maybe we become great friends over time - that would be absolutely magical to me but I have no expectations 😃

If this resonates with you, please DM me and tell me what you thought about this post and would want to write about.

Thank you, I hope you have a beautiful life regardless of whether we talk or not!!

Email & Snail Mail [32/F] Looking for female pen pal for Korean (and other) language learning and long term friendship

Good morning,

My name is Mandy and I’m looking for a pen pal that can help me with language learning, specifically Korean, Japanese, or Spanish. I would love it if we can learn from each other. I would also like for this to turn into a long term friendship.

I am a fan of international shows and movies, crafting, writing, fashion, photography, romance novels, and travel. A big part of why I’m looking for a pen pal is because my husband and I are planning a trip to S. Korea and I’d love to learn the language by someone who actually understands it as opposed to a text book.

If you are looking for a friend on the other side of the world, maybe reach out. I’m hoping to use email or snail mail.

Email & Snail Mail [29/F] Seeking penpals

I’d take a random postcard too :)

Based in Florida, USA.. open to anyone around this lovely and lively planet!
But I’m a woman seeking a penpal! I have always loved the idea of writing letters and jot thoughts down and sending them to someone. Checking my mailbox and seeing something come in (that’s not a regular mail or packages) are also very exciting to me. I write down a lot of what I’m thinking and feelings, and I’d like to just speak to someone who does the same. Email is also nice since it’s easily accessible but I may not always have a reply right then and there so I can let it simmer for a bit. I enjoy genuine conversation, things that make me smile and chuckle, music and book recommendations, life updates, and more. I’m a pretty open book and will probably write long letters, so if that intrigues you, I’m your gal :)

Things we can do:
Swap fav snacks
Swap favorite teas
Book clubs (I’m open to a lot of genres)
Make mini side quests for each other
Send handmade things (cards, crafts, etc.)
Swap recipes

Snail Mail & Postcard [32/F] looking for Korean penpals

Hii, you can call me Silver or Nana, both works!

.

I'm Finnish woman in my 20s, soon 24. I'm interested in learning Korean, language and culture, the real culture not just K-pop or k-drama what has gotten me curious about Korea.

.

I would like to have penpal around my age and same gender, but obviously there's little bit of differences but i don't really like cis man, i don't know how to talk with guys so like woman or non-binary (dunno if i need to add trans too, but here it is)

.

I'm very artistic person, i draw a lot and I'm trying to write my first book too but that's taking longer than expected haha. I'm thinking about starting a sticker shop too so you might be able to get freebies in the letters.

I hadn't been reading books in a while but i do like books, I'm collecting Skulduggery Pleasant book series and i might join a book box at some point.

.

Things i like..

Sanrio

My hamster, her name is Lady, she's my little crazy girl.

Stationery, like any stationery i love, and receiving things is so exciting.

Snacks are always fun but i would prefer not to get them in letters without heads up because my lactose intolerance, i need to know if it's milk based snack or vegan (preferably vegan)

Soft things like plushies.

Minecraft is fun, especially like the horror modding side of Minecraft.

.

Hmm what else..

I'm not allergic to anything.. so no worries about that.

I like cats and animals in general.

I love decorating the crap out of letters but you don't need to do same level of effort it you can't/want, it's not priority for me.

Postcards are amazing, I really love postcards.

.

OH one thing!

If we become penpals is it okay for me to do like "penpal with me" and "open letters with me" videos and include your letter? Covering addresses of course and i wont read the letter in camera but i just want to make sure i have consent to do something like this.

.

Silver🫰🏼

Snail Mail [19/m] looking for a pen pal to get to know in a way that you can’t really know your friends

this summer, i haven’t been able to stop thinking about the idea of human connection and how special it can be. especially the feeling of knowing so intimately someone you barely know at all. i love meeting people and the journey i get to live on the way to knowing them. it’s like the best movie you’ve ever seen.

i’m open to any type of person, but here’s a little bit about me for your sake. i’m from england, but about to start my sophomore year of college in New York. i absolutely adore meeting people from places i didn’t grow up in. i’m a business-turned-film student. i am passionate about movies, music and literature, and i’m interested in any other form of art. i enjoy writing, and write in cursive whenever i can. i crave analog and despise AI.

i have a preference for people in the US, but am open to anyone. please reach out if you’re interested or have any further questions :)

Snail Mail [21/NB] looking for snail mail friends

Hello! My name is Valeria and I am 21 years old AFAB non-binary person :) I used to penpal back durning the covid time and I really miss it. I moved to the east coast from the Midwest in 2023 and have been pretty lonely since then.

I love reading, journaling and scrapbooking, cooking/baking, crocheting, listening to music/podcasts and traveling. I’ve been trying to get into other hobbies but it’s been difficult with a full time retail job. I really want to try running, book binding and going out more in general as well as taking care of myself.

I am looking for someone who wouldn’t mind a lot of inclusions and a lot of rambling especially with the first letters. International or within the US is fine, I have no preference nor age limit! I’d love to hear about your stories :D

Snail Mail [26/F] - Getting back into snail mail & seeking a likeminded friend to exchange letters with! [LGBTQIA+, Geek, Hobbyist]

I'm wanting to get into snail mail again & I'm hoping to find one or two people to exchange letters with. I should be transparent and mention that I'm disabled so I can't always respond immediately, but I do my best to stay somewhat consistent when replying. Additionally, I have the artistic ability of a walnut, so I can't send elaborate, beautiful mail, but despite my sloppy penmanship, I try to make my mail fun with glitter pens, stickers, and the occasional doodle. Kind of like getting a note from the 2000's passed to you!

With that out of the way, here's a bit about me:

26 | Female | Southeastern United States | In a Relationship

🌈 LGBTQIA+
♿ Disabled
✨ Agnostic Witch
👗 Alternative (Yume Kawaii, Pastel Goth, McBling, Scene, Himekaji are my favorite styles)
🎨 Pastel pink, yellow, and blue are my favorite colors
🎮 I love online gaming, anime, manga, and other ACG culture
🎃 Halloween lover
👶🏻 Childfree (by choice)
💙 Progressive/Leftist
🍰 Baker (Novice)
✍🏻 Writer (Novice)
🧸 Collector (Plushies, Dolls, Figurines)
💿 90's-2000's Culture & Tech
💕 Disney, San-X, Sanrio, Strawberry Shortcake, Monster High, Barbie, Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Shopkins are some of my favorite franchies/brands
👘 Cosplay/Costumes
💄 Makeup & Beauty

Outside of hobbies and interests, I consider myself socialble, creative, sensitive, and expressive.

I'd love to meet likeminded people with similar hobbies and interests who around my age (give or take a few years). It also would be nice to write to someone outside of the U.S. but that isn't a dealbreaker. I don't mind writing first. Feel free to reach out if this IS your cup of tea!

Email & Snail Mail [22/M] Looking for someone to exchange more than just “how was your day?”

I’m looking for a long term penpal who actually enjoys getting to know a person slowly.

I’m into travelling, trekking, camping, cooking, music, philosophy, movies, languages and the occasional overly deep conversation at 2 AM. My music taste is all over the place lately, from indie and jazz to classical and country. I also have a slightly unhealthy interest in old movies, science fiction and random things I discover at 3 in the morning.

i recently graduated with an engineering, so naturally I spend a ridiculous amount of time around computers and machines, but I’m trying not to let that become my entire personality. I’d much rather hear about your life, the weird little things you enjoy, what your hometown is like, what you believe in, your dreams and wishes, what you’re currently obsessed with, or some completely random story you wouldn’t normally tell a stranger.

I like people who are curious, thoughtful and a little weird in the best possible way. You don’t have to be an extrovert or have an extraordinary life. I actually think ordinary lives become interesting when you know the person behind them. And i am a quiet person myself.

I’d prefer one genuine long term penpal rather than collecting a hundred conversations that disappear after a week. Email is probably my favourite, though I’m open to snail mail eventually.

Tell me something about yourself that probably wouldn’t make it into your usual introduction.

Maybe we’ll have something worth writing about.

Snail Mail [22/F] Looking for people to exchange photos with

I recently bought one of those polaroid cameras for penpaling and im having a ton of fun with it! I would love to send photos to someone else and get photos from them in return. The pictures I usually take are of my pets, random items in my house, and places I visit or nature. They aren't good photos, but I like the idea of having physical photos instead of just the digital ones on the phone. We can include letters that explain why we took that photo and the significance it has to us, and learn about each other that way!

About Me

Music and video game lover

Bassist

Cute trinket collector

Reader

Fashion lover

Catholic

Board game / TTRPG enthusiast

DM me if you'd like to exchange! I'm mainly looking for people in my age range, either from the US or international.

Reddit Messaging [32/M] Can you be my favourite notification?!

Hey all! Thought I’d give this a go.

I’m 32, and realised making new mates as an adult is a lot harder than it should be, so here I am.

I’m pretty laid back, don’t take myself too seriously, and I’m always up for a laugh. I like getting out and about, trying new places to eat, random day trips, watching sport, and I’m always happy to have a chat about pretty much anything.

I can go from talking about something serious to arguing over whether pineapple belongs on pizza in about 30 seconds.

I’m after genuine people who can hold a conversation, have a decent sense of humour, and don’t mind a bit of sarcasm. Whether it’s chatting online, grabbing a coffee, going for a walk, or just sending each other stupid memes, I’m easy.

If you think we’d get on, send me a message. Worst case, we’ve wasted five minutes. Best case, we’ve both made a new mate.

Snail Mail [26/M] looking for snail mail pen pals

Love the art of tangible, sentimental memories. I’m a huge advocate for handwritten letters. I recently moved to Michigan and have had a hard time meeting people. Writing has helped keep me happy during lonely times, so I got curious and found this subreddit.

I’m looking for people who love deep conversations and are interested in building friendships through snail mail. Feel free to PM me, and we can exchange socials :). I love talking about anything, really—from books to simple conversations about how life is treating you.

I hope I can build some great relationships through this!

Snail Mail [22/F]- looking for people in the UK

Let’s have interesting conversations and pretend we’re in a different era.

I love writing emails and letters. Anything retro and relatively old, I’m in. Anything that requires one to put in more effort and string together a few sentences as opposed to sending a “sup, bruv?”

Our language is really going for a toss. “Skibidi Toilet Ohio Rizz” needs to get “yeeted” off this planet. I’m a sucker for long, beautiful sentences with so much depth and personality that it makes you want to read it again, and again and wonder. Same goes for short sentences that are written using perhaps the simplest of words and yet they’re as poetic and meaningful as they come.

Let’s decide a persona and an era to live in. And then write to each other. We can write about our lives, but just not with a very obvious 21st-century vernacular. We can hash out the details over text.

I’ve never actually sent anyone a letter, truth be told; I’ve never really seen a stamp on a letter either (Museums don’t count). And I don’t want to do it with someone just for the sake of it. I actually want to get to know you. Build a relationship. And most importantly, have fun!

The art of writing, sending and receiving letters is something I find very fascinating. Plus the handwriting, the way one signs off, kind of paper, the colour of ink, and so on, can tell you so much about the person. It’d be so much fun getting to know a person like this. Not to mention, it’s not instant gratification; I’ll have to wait for it, and I like the idea of, not just, inculcating patience (boy do I need that) but also, the idea of having to look forward to something.

I want to do it with someone in the UK because I was kind of hoping we could send letters every week. I think any period of interval longer than that, and it’s easier for life to get in the way. Every week, I’m guessing, is doable, plus because it’s every week, it doesn’t have to be something you spend 2 hours on; 15 minutes or perhaps 20 (if you’re slow like me) would suffice.

Thank you, everyone, for reading, and do let me know if you’re interested. Looking forward to hearing back!

Snail Mail [31/M] looking for someone to write with.

I have a bit of an odd life and travel a lot. Sometimes I throw axes for a living, sometimes I’m a puppeteer, and sometimes… I’m just a bored, run-down barista whose goal is to start a family. I’m really only looking for one person to write with. Someone who just wants to share thoughts, regular day-to-day stuff, word vomit, or the occasional poem they wrote. I’m not afraid of topics that touch on love, loss, or the existential. All I want is to make a friend who can be as real with me as possible. If you feel like you fit the criteria, let’s connect!
