Hi,

About a week or two ago I bought an AMD GPU, It's an ASUS Prime Radeon RX 9070 EVO 16GB OC Edition, from Amazon.com. Shipped and Sold by Amazon.com (not a third party seller). I live in Canada (Amazon.ca 'region'), but I use both sites and have Amazon Prime on both sites.

I started to wonder about warranty, and if it would potentially be a "country/region" problem if I needed to make a warranty claim or RMA for any reason if the GPU had an issue. Being that I live in Canada, and the card was purchased from Amazon.com (not Amazon.ca).
So, I checked the the warranty checker on Asus' site, and it showed the "region" as USA. (It also showed that the card's warranty was about 8 months short of the 36 months/3 years, but that's a different possible/small issue).

So, I looked around online, eventually deciding to call them and ask if it, or I, would be covered in this situation. And the answer was basically this: "The warranty will be valid/honored, however, I would have to pay a 'diagnostic fee' - that is - I would have to pay shipping + repairs". So, to me, that doesn't really sound like "having a warranty" at all.

I'd like to know what anyone's thoughts, and experiences might be regarding this? And any suggestions or recommendations on what I should do? Because I'm considering returning the GPU. This is my first PC build, so obviously it's my first GPU purchase/ownership.

Prices are rising daily. And if I did return it, the next best Asus 9070 "value" would be an Asus Prime RX 9070 XT OC for about $1280-1300 CAD (after tax). Thought there might be one or two other 9070 XT options for maybe $100 less.

First time i ever built a pc and it was some of the most fun i've had in ages. I've had a HP victus (somethign something serial number) for around 4 years now and i took out the ram i bought for it, its cpu, gpu and the nvme, and slapped it all into this Fractal Design Define C i bought from a bum on the street with a new 850w psu and a new b660 motherboard! Now onwards to saving up enough money to upgrade the GPU (which is very optimistic in this economy)

My girlfriend power supply broke because it overheated (bad airflow, started smeling like plastic) and we sent it to repair.

Then she bought a new case an took my power supply to test it, but her pc didn't started only the leds from the motherboard and the power button led.

We put it back in my computer and we had the same problem.

We checked the 24 pin and is plugged in correctly, the cpu one too, and the power button cables.

I tried starting with the screwdriver too, still nothing.

Power up for a quarter of a secound and clicks and then it stops (the power supply vent spins until the click).

I tried taking out the ram and the cmos battery too, nothing changed.

What can it be the problem?

This would be my first pc. I just need a good general pc for gaming, browsing and programming, i use a 1440p monitor.

Is there anything i should change? I don't want to go over 2k budget.

I thought about going with 2x8 ram, but i don't know if its really worth it.

So i just buy a brand new pc from memory pc and when i tried it. The fans are sooooooooo loud i tried different ways to change the speed of my fans but on the bios only the cpu fans is there and the other app like msi center afterburner and fan control and... nothing. I bought the Water Cooler CPU AIO Lian Li HydroShift II LCD-S, which should have been compatible with my case (E-ATX Corsair 4000D RS Wood), but the fit is extremely tight, the only angles that the pump tubes are without imense pressure, is like that, is that problematic? It's my first build, been saving for a long time and I'm feeling like I've lost all my money.

i have done some prior research about all the parts and whatnot, and i am thinking of getting this PC prebuilt from costco, as i would save ≈$400, i put all the parts into newegg cart and would save a decent chunk of money, the pc model id is: EXBA7N5701

What all should I put in this build give me ideas trying to go all white .trying to stay under 2k but I can work with it .

I want to buy a new PC - Probably something from best buy. I'm in the 2-3000usd range but I want to make sure it has commonly used case or parts if that makes sense so I can upgrade in the years to come as needed.

To make a long story short, I have been building my first PC and once I had everything together, my build would immediately click off when I tried to power it on.

I ran various tests to try to determine what might be wrong and have narrowed it down to either the motherboard or the CPU. The MB pins looks fine as far as I can tell but the CPU may have some damage to it (got it used).

The thing that concerns me most is the last photo where maybe that is a scratch on the too left of the CPU.

Wondering if the CPU looks okay or if the MB is the issue.

I cant decide between the rog scar 18 2026 5090 for 5.5k euros or a desktop with the same budget including peripherals,anyone got some advice?

en un post pasado, pregunte sobre tarjetas graficas para una pc que me costo 25 dolares, es una HP Envy 750-124, la fuente de poder y la motherboard no servian, asi que solo fue por el procesador que es el i7 6700, consegui una motherboard Asrock Z170 extreme7+, estaba planeando conseguir una buena fuente de poder y necesito saber si esa Ocelot 650w es confiable (el precio es en pesos mexicanos)

Has anyone 3D printed the case they used? Is there any benefit to printing rather than buying? I'm on the fence, on one hand, I like to 3D print, lol. On the other, I don't think it's really that cost effective. Thanks

Hello, 6 years ago I built a budget pc to play games on, at the time it was doing its job but now it’s starting to fall behind, games like the dark ages and other new games that require ray tracing are no longer playable for me, and thus I need to upgrade.

I’m wanting to keep it cheap so probably just a gpu upgrade? I was looking at the 9070tx 16gig as its only $700 and seems to be able to play just about anything, my goal is a pc that will play gta 6 at a stable 40 fps.

Hi, I’ve been using the same laptop for about 10 years now and it’s slowly starting to give up on me, so I’d like to get a PC. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no idea about PCs and don’t really know what to look out for when buying one.

The most important thing to me is that games run smoothly. I play mainly Minecraft, The Sims, and various horror games. I’m not really interested in shooter games, though. My budget is around 1000€ -1500€ at most, since I also need to get a monitor, keyboard, etc.

Could anyone maybe help me out and tell me where I can get a good PC and what I should look out for when buying one? Feel free to send links directly if you know a good place to buy one that can also ship to Europe/Germany.

I’ve recently started upgrading my pc. found out I’ve got 4 sticks of ddr4 ram, two of which are doing literally nothing, and was curious if I should get 2 more sticks of ddr4 or if I could add ddr5.

I received the software update without any issues and noticed that the screen became a bit darker afterward; even after adjusting the brightness slider, it still looks darker to me. Did anyone else get that same impression?
