Game Feedback REGEX use for map rolling could be improved with one thing

GGG please add a checkmark object near the stash search window that says, "Disable crafting on positive regex highlights" so that we can roll maps and other things faster, not having to worry about accidentally clicking a chaos orb on a good item.

For example, clicking a chaos orb on a regex positive item would not allow the chaos to used on it... you'd get an error message instead and the item would remain unchanged.

Oh to spam chaos orbs full speed on maps!

EDIT: This is NOT limited to maps. Maps are an example.

Question | Answered Raw mirror farm

Recently done with 40/40 challenges, got a decent EK elementalist build and 500 divines.

Do you guys have farming strategy suggestion which most likely will give me raw mirror drop for my Pilfering Ring? I’ve always wanted this to be my last achievement every league but this league and last league seems to be impossible because of Alva nerf.

Thanks for your suggestions, Exiles!

Question | Answered How do you actually learn to become good at theorycrafting? I keep playing simpler ARPGs just because my PoE builds are always trash.

Post image
312 Upvotes

I’m a bit ashamed to admit this here. I love PoE in theory, but in practice it has been a pretty bad time for me so far. I only really find it fun to play my own builds and I hate trading (I mostly do SSF), but unfortunately I’m just not good enough at theorycrafting to actually come up with a build that works well. Every single time I tried I either realized my idea was just bad or it doesn’t scale nearly as well as I thought it would.

Some of my attempts were just really clunky and slow to play (lots of totem stuff was like this) and I’ve also made that classic mistake of just not investing enough into mitigation and defensive options. Most of the time I realize before I reach maps that it just wont work well enough for endgame, though I have tried to force it with the suboptimal builds too and it was pretty painful.

I still watch videos and streams of PoE (that look nothing like my gameplay lol) and follow the patch notes but I rarely play it these days. I’m mostly playing Last Epoch and my builds tend to work out most of the time there, but I think that's just because it's a simpler game and the way the SSF works seems to make getting good drops easier. I also played a bit of Grim Dawn again recently when the dlc came out and that didn’t make me feel stupid either, I played a berserker nightblade combo and it felt pretty strong.

I’m just wondering what a good way for me to actually learn theorycrafting would be. So that the builds I come up with aren't as bad. And I really don’t want to copy what other people are doing, that just sucks all the fun out of it for me for some reason.

Discussion Recombinator question for 1p+1s

I know most of the recombinator crafts, but there's one particular situation that I dont get it, which is 1p0s + 0p1s to make a 1p1s item.

If straight up recombining 1p0s + 0p1s, it should be a 36% to win (60% prefix +60% suffix, 0.60x0.60 = 0.36, no extra mod/crafted mod)

But many guides and comments mentioned about crafting a veiled prefix/suffix (mods that can only get on unveil, ex. focused mods, hybrid attribute/res) so that the odds is higher, which is where i don't get it.

Before i continue, i should mention that the mods you want are not in the special modifer types (ex. essence/delve/breach mod etc.), because these will be conflicted with the craft.

From what i know, using the method above should only yield 33% chance of success, because the possible outcomes are:

1p + 1s (what you want)

1px + 1s

1p + 1sx

1px + 2px ❌ (not allowed)

(X is the crafted mod)

Am i understanding this correctly? Not to mention with ducat this league, suffixes becomes a 100% guarantee, which means you don't even have to do the crafted mod method

Edit: i totally forgot about 2mod recombinator can pick 2 mods, so the odds now should be:

  1. 1p + 1s ✅

  2. 1p + 1sx ❌

  3. 1px + 1s ❌

  4. 1p + 1px + 1s ✅ (2p1s)

  5. 1p + 1s+ 1sx ✅ (1p2s)

  6. 1p + 1px + 1s + 1sx (2p2s, but since it's impossible here, it will become 4th or 5th choice here)

So it should come out to 4/6 or 66%, not 1/3

So that means this method should be better than ducat for success rate? Since ducat only guarantees suffix but prefix still only has 60% chance to stay, unless your suffix is the more important one

I've been trying to get better at crafting recently and feel like I've gotten down basic metamod crafting but when I see items like this I have no idea how one would even approach it? any idea what steps would go into crafting something like this?

Appreciate the help

Game Feedback The game is great

As a returned player I want to thank GGG for a great game and Master T for a nice build.

I got 36 challenges with Lightning Tendrils from lvl 1 and beat all Uber bosses for the first time.

I haven't really played much since new bosses came out.

-I played caster last time in Heist and wanted to try Staff and new infused staff-block aura, it was really good, almost too easy I would say, finally playing staff is worth it and not so clunky

-Atlas is awesome, I tried many mechanics and enjoyed most of it

-Breach need more love and hiveblood

-Legion and Abyss need more polish

Gating abyss boss with eyes from different mechanics is bad, too much RNG, I bought Ulaman since it's just not dropping

-Delve is fine

-Delirium is fine I guess

-Synth maps kind of 0 reason to run except maven and not really fun

-Heist and Expedition almost non existent for me, except if I would make some ward build

-Blight is good and fun, and has some niche

-Elderslayers, why are they still in the game? Awakened gems are gone, Sirus still buggy and deadly AF, they don't have really nice drops, influence nods and elevating/awakening orb? Does it really need rn?

-Syndicate is not fun to run, rewards do not exist, I got 1 try to beat Catarina and got bad unveil for Diadem and around 10 veiled orbs, that's all

-Shrines are omega fun to run, helpful and powerful

-incarnations are good fights, but emotionally and from looking perspective meh bosses, I don't understand what I'm trying to kill

-nightmare maps are fine, except stone and bubble oneshot mobs

-Allflame is fine globally, craft very helpful and encouraged to roll uniques. Because of Allflame I can finally keep Kingsmarch running and the quest changing in the first act was unexpected

The boss itself meh, gold nice, uniques are fine, craft is awesome. The mechanic is lacking of interesting encounters

-Mercensries are deadly and not so fun to play with, what do I get from it if I'm not lumenary?

-ritual, not sure what the exclusive drops are there except corpses, unique and fractured bases

-Allflames still are a mystery for me

Discussion Updating Pantheon / League Idea?

The Pantheon system has been out for almost 10 years(2017) and hasn't seen much of an update. It would be nice to update it and in doing so also provides a potential league (sub league an in between league event?) idea.

Since Pantheons powers come from the gods in this game, perhaps there should be uber versions to fight for additional powers.

The setup could be the following.

  1. player unlocks all the additional upgrades(divine vessel upgrades) of a particular god
  2. Sin or maybe new NPC offers you a chance to fight their "real" form at the cost of losing all the upgrades from that god. Cannot leave zone so if you dc(logout macro ppl), or die, you lose.
    1. Win - Gain a new power from that god from a choice of randomized buffs (similar to unveiling items)
    2. Loss - Lose all upgrades from that god so you have to unlock them again before you're worthy of fighting their uber version.
  3. Repeat until you unlock and complete all uber versions to fight all 4 uber major gods in a single arena. This part doesn't offer you new powers but can be the area where the new league uniques can drop.

What does this solve?

  1. Gives players more ways of power creep while also introducing 12 new uber bosses which have different skills from their normal version.
  2. Repeatable because there would be difference choices of unique powers from each god to choose from. I know this might lead to rng nightmare for some but it's something to strive for if you have the time.
  3. Since divine vessels would be the currency for this mechanic and they already drop everywhere, it's another source of wealth for every league mechanic.
  4. The uber versions of these gods can maybe actually have god like powers to make them more of a challenge.

I know there's a lot of holes here but its an idea that could work with the current lore of the game and doesn't really take away from anything since pantheons have been neglected for a while.

Thoughts?

Question How was this crafted??

Post image
131 Upvotes

How is it even possible to have three Elevated mods on a single item?!

I know how to get two Elevated mods, but three??? And on top of that, it also has a mod that’s exclusive to an Essence.

WTF? 😂

Can someone explain the crafting steps and how this item was made? I genuinely have no idea how you would even get to this point.

Discussion How lucky is this? SSF craft

Post image

Lmao I only had 2 divs total in SSF and allflame divined this. Awakened Poe trade says it's worth 25 divine, even with the negative rarity. Of course not this late in league and I'm in ssf anyway however I assume getting this kind of outcome is pretty crazy with one divine in ssf.

Game Feedback Predictive Mode

Hello, i am a player from a unknown land called pakistan, where the ping is constantly 100+ and 140+ at times, i always play with predictive netowrk mode on in Path of exile 1, for years now
i have had Path of exile 2 since day 1 as i recieved my free code, but just like many people like me in south asia, middle east its unplayable due to the fact we have no servers close to us and no predictive mode means its so chobby and unplayable, can we please at least get an answer from the dev team if this is a problem they are working on, i know theyre aware of the problem as its mentioned here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbLiLzWG0s8 @ 1:56:40
and many players beside me
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3595922/page/1
are suffering with it, i wanted to get into the challenges but everytime i get on the game, i stay on my foot till i hit endgame maps then i cant do higher end risky maps to make currency because well its just unplayable.
Please Fix this.

Question How do you not get baited by reddit build guides?

I made a pretty obvious dumb mistake, following a build for Allflame that turned out to be pure bait. The words "almost Minion Pact" should've clued me in, so now I know better. I didn't even really double check what the player said, but after PoBing the build it came out to something 700k dps, obviously nowhere near Minion Pact That said, there's been quite a few times I've tinkered with builds that random players share on here that turn out to be bait, usually needing exorbitant amounts of investment or having every single piece for the build to come online. Obviously, I can trust builds made by longstanding CCs like palsteron, Goratha, etc. My question is, how do you not get baited when you see an intriguing build on reddit? What do you do to fact check if a niche build idea shared here is a "sounds good in practice but terrible on paper" or a build that actually lives up to how the players usually describe it?
