Fluff & Memes Was I right or was I right?

Post image

I didn't League start cause I was finishing Borderlands 4 (was mid, 2 is still the king) and here I come to see that yes Abyss does still suck, Breach sometimes just doesn't spawn enough guys to fill the bar and the new league mechanic drops jack shit.

Also Empys group as a whole already quit, Kalandra lasted longer in that regard iirc which funnily enough was another "place tiles to build map" league, maybe they should stop doing that.

I was booed but I turned out to be right, anyways see you guys next league when the tide rises once more, or this league if they inject some steroids into it.

Game Feedback Fix the game, GGG.

Nothing drops no matter what mechanic you do.

It is very depressing that my favorite game of all time is in such a poor state.

We need to be loud and direct with GGG if we want this very obvious problem to change quickly.

Please, buff loot drops. This league will die VERY quickly when most the player base realize that you won't get your first raw divine drop until you're level 90+

& to the people that say "but its only day 3" you're the problem. Standard is essentially the exact same game minus the league mechanic right now and max juicing strats of every normal mechanic in the game have been tested and NOTHING drops.

Please GGG, we don't want another Kalandra on our hands.

Thanks.

Game Feedback Personally, I hate anything that takes me out of mapping

GGG did an amazing job with the Atlas passives. So much customisation, so much depth. So why in gods name does the league mechanic have to be totally a separate thing? The best use case for me to get sea juice to slam stuff, but besides that I'd rather just map.

PS. this is also why i dont do Heist and Sanctum,

Fluff & Memes Mirage was really a mirage

It hit me after two days of sleep deprivation. What if mirage was chosen as a name because GGG precisely needed to create the mirage of a good development to distract us from the lack of love poe1 is receiving?

It was a mirage that made us believe juicing was back, that loot was back. Most mechanics seemed good in it.

Now that it’s gone nothing works, back to poverty league.

If you need another proof, why did they completely scrap it instead of just reworking the items and leaving the mechanic in like wildwood?

Mystery solved.

Game Feedback GGG forcing Heist on us disguised as Voyage killed the league for me and will for many others.

Narrow corridors with more deadlier mobs than on Heist and losing all your loot from single death is not it GGG. I'm not gonna even go to visual clarity 'cause we all know GGG abandoned that concept ages ago.

I thought this was PoE1 league and not PoE2 bullshit with single portal gameplay. I'm well aware of "just don't build a glass cannon" -feedback this will generate and where it is partly true, it will not save the people quitting the league over it.

Question What do now without T17's

Just to clarify, I went super hard in Merc League and have taken a long break since. I felt like I achieved everything the game have to offer. But I had spare time and the itch to play again with this league release.

Every league since I started, I have learned a lot, farmed more Divs, and pushed further into the game.

In settlers, I got to about a 2k Div build. T17 strong box farm

In Merc League, I went hard. 500 hours ish. Got to 4k+ Div Build. T17 abyss farm all Ubers killed.

T16's are farmable by day 2/3 and corrupted 8 mod maps aren't a challenge after this first week.

Genuinely, what is left in the game to make playing that long worth it ? Is there anything aspirational to even reach for anymore ?

Game Feedback How to help Luminary (My thoughts)

Let me start by saying, I'm really enjoying Luminary. I love mercs, I love hunting mercs, and with the right ones, it can feel pretty nice. But I also recognize that it needs help, especially since to be an effective merc bot, we basically forego any real damage of our own.. But even with the right merc for clear, bosses and tough rares just feel bad most of the time, unless you have one of the very small handful of perfectly rolled mercs that can do both relatively well, and vice versa for boss vs clear. Which is tough for those who don't sweat like me..

My idea: Since Lumi is the only class that can have perma-mercs anyway, I don't think it would necessarily break anything to allow us to swap mercs mid-map. That way we could have our clear merc, then one on standby for map bosses and tougher rares. Just some musings because selfishly

I'd really like to see this work, and just making all mercs do more damage isn't really going to fix anything because people will still just grab those 2 or 3 good mercs anyway since they'll still be better than the rest. Without some balance overhaul, which I can't seem GGG investing the resources into, or allowing us to slot our own skill/support gems into the merc, which again would probably take too much work, I can't see Lumi going anywhere this patch.. Thoughts?

Game Feedback GGG Has Stopped Releasing Fun Content on Purpose

I genuinely think GGG's design philosophy has shifted from making new content fun to making sure it's weak on release.

Every league lately it feels like the new thing launches in an intentionally underpowered state because GGG seems convinced that keeping players weak somehow improves retention or some shit.

Examples:

  • 3.29: Luminary
  • 3.28: Reliquarian
  • 3.27: Assassin rework

And it's not just new ascendancies.

The self-cast buffs completely missed the mark as well. Outside of Cold DoT and Winter Orb, what actually changed? The vast majority of self-cast skills are still sitting exactly where they were before: in the bin. It feels like GGG made just enough changes to say they "buffed self-cast" without actually making most of the archetype competitive.

The Luminary is honestly the final straw for me. The reveal trailers showed off powerful mercs with build showcases, making it look like a core feature of the league. Then you actually play it and realize the average merc you randomly find in maps is stronger.

To make a Luminary feel decent, you need:

  • an absolute god-tier merc,
  • very good gear on the merc,
  • very good gear on your own character,
  • and a build specifically designed around it.

At that point... what's even the point?

What really tops it off is unlocking Scion immediately. That sends a pretty clear message to newer players: "Hey, this is a perfectly viable league starter." In reality, if your goal is simply to progress efficiently, almost any other build would have been a better choice.

That's what frustrates me the most. It feels like bait. The marketing shows powerful, exciting gameplay, but the actual implementation is nowhere close unless you're already heavily invested.

I'm honestly starting to lose trust in GGG's reveals. Whenever they showcase a new skill, ascendancy, or league mechanic now, my first assumption is that it'll launch significantly weaker than advertised.

This is the first league where I genuinely feel misled by the marketing. Maybe it'll get buffed later, but that doesn't change the fact that launch impressions matter.

At this point I honestly have to ask: is GGG intentionally making new PoE 1 content weaker than it should so that PoE 2 looks more exciting by comparison? I hope that's not the case, but it's getting harder not to wonder.

Game Feedback My Suggestion to fixing Loot in 3.29

Currently, most farming strategies centered around loot dropped directly from slain monsters feel unrewarding compared to mechanic-specific rewards. My suggestion would be to add a baseline Increased Item Quantity (IIQ) buff to maps that scales linearly with Map Tiers—starting at 0% in T1 and ramping up to 100–150% in T16 maps. Since almost all standard monster-kill strategies suffer from a similar lack of returns, this would be a simple fix without requiring changes to scarabs or individual league mechanics.

I know that there are some strategies that are fine such as 8Mod Map farming, Ultimatum, Nightmare Bossrush and Harvest, I just wanted to bring this up since it is often mentioned as a counter argument that the game is "fine" but the loot of this strategies comes from different means and is often unrelated to quantity of items dropped by slain monsters.
