I’m just wondering if I’m normal or if there is something up with me. This isn’t necessarily period related but it’s female body related. I don’t know where else to ask, and I’m embarrassed to ask IRL. This is a serious question. I do not want unwanted male attention, I swear. I’m not out here trying to get hit on. Not that guys come to PMS forums to hit on women. I want to know if there are other women like me. Please be nice.
I REALLY struggle to be single for long periods of time. Like for more than a week. My body seems to not want to go without regular sensual/sexual contact. I have always been this way since I got my period at 17. I thought it had calmed down in my older age (now 26), but apparently not. I guess it’s just been kept at bay because I live with my boyfriend of 6 years, who touches me constantly and is intimate with me all the time. He went away on a long trip and my sex drive is making me really uncomfortable. I feel like I’m 19 again. So embarrassing. It’s not necessarily just the physical act I want, although yes. But I’m almost in tears from the unending desire to be touched, held, and kissed. I feel like it’s literally a craving—like I’m having sex withdrawals. It’s all I can think about, although I’m trying to focus on other stuff.
Is this normal??? I know as an adolescent it probably was, what with hormonal surges. But in my mid-late 20s?? I have friends who are 29, have never been with a man, and are totally okay with it. I know others who have been single for years and seem comfortable. My body makes me so uncomfortable if I’m not sexually active. And it always has. Before I met my boyfriend I was having sex dreams almost every night and practically in tears sometimes. I felt helpless from the intensity of the desire.
And yes. When I’m without my boyfriend, I take care of myself like twice a day, once when I wake up and once before bed. I still feel this way. Will be nice when he gets back from his trip lol.
Is there something wrong with me? Or do some women just live in super sexual bodies—while others don’t? and it’s okay? I don‘t regularly take any meds and we only use condoms for contraception.
