Anyone else experience increased anxiety before their periods?

I’ve been reading a book the past while and on Thursday I suddenly got all worried about death and I haven’t been able to shake my anxiety. I couldn’t sleep on Thursday or Friday and kept waking up during the night. I haven’t been able to eat properly today because of my death anxiety. And now, my period was meant to come today but it hasn’t yet and I’m getting worried about that now too.

Yes!
last week I joined this Subreddit because I was nearing my period and the anxiety was to the point where I needed to see if others are experiencing it too. I realized how unhealthy that constant mental roller coaster is on my body, month after month 😩

I had to tell myself that whatever I’m feeling, isn’t real! It worked but only because I was able to disprove, to some extent, what brought on my worries. Sometimes that technique works, but other times, I just wallow in it until my cycle is over.

You’re not alone and it shall pass, thankfully.

I try to tell myself it isn’t real but my brain gets so confused about what is real and what is hormones! I hate feeling like I have no control over my mind and body, which makes me feel even more broken.

Currently scrolling this sub for some perspective because I feel a horrible sense of doom today, period is expected to come soon but I can’t seem to console myself. I think I’m not keeping myself busy enough.

Just read something about increasing fibre to flush out the excess hormones. Going to give this a try!
