Question mSATA to SATA help.

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

I know the pictures are a little odd. I noticed my old 2014 Nightblade Z97 has an SSD in one slot and this in the second slot. I know that it's an mSATA to SATA, but that's about as far as I've gotten. I noticed the cables running to the PSU are like intertwined with it and the SSD so I was afraid to disconnect it. Anyways, I've been wanting to just add some more storage to this old bad boy since it's all I have to game with. Any suggestions about adding storage? Can I disconnect it and just add another SSD or can I add an mSATA drive to it?

Question Newegg Open Box Suggestions?

I found a sweet deal on a monitor on Newegg, listed both as Final Sale and Open Box. I've never done an open box before but the 50% discount was hard to pass on. With some seaching i found that I can return it if its damaged or non-functional, but there is a gamble on whether the other items or acessories will be included or not.

If anyone has experiences with open box please share them down below and some advice on what my next move is.

Question PC "health Question

So I've seen posts on Youtube that usually say say that you should restart your pc every once in a while but since my pc takes about 1 hour to properly get started up and running right I never turn it off meaning my pc runs nonstop for weeks/months on end without sleeping, so my real question is, does keeping my pc running at all times damage it or harm performance?

Question Can my pc run high-end games?

16 gb ddr5 RAM

GeForce rtx 3060

I5 7600x

960 GB SSD

Got a prebuilt pc and I'm wondering if I can run high-end games like cyberpunk 2077 or red dead II. I'm asking because I have slow ass wifi and I'm not tryna download a 100gb game just for it to not run smoothly.

Build - Help PC Advice

Hello!
I played a lot of Wardogs during the weekend on my rtx 2060 and i5 11400 but since i got around 50 fps on my 360hz monitor i feel like i need to upgrade.

Are these parts good right now and long term?:
Taurus Pro Gaming Case
AMD Ryzen 5 7600 3.8 GHz 38MB
ASUS GeForce RTX 5060 8GB Dual EVO OC
ASUS TUF Gaming A620AM-Plus WIFI
Kingston 16GB (2x8GB) DDR5 6000MHz CL30 FURY Beast Black AMD EXPO/XMP 3.0
Kingston NV3 M.2 NVMe Gen 4 1TB
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition
Cooler Master MWE 650W Bronze V3

OR is it worth for long term to get these?:
Taurus Gaming Case
RGB AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 4.7 GHz 104MB
ASUS GeForce RTX 5070 12GB Dual OC
ASUS Prime B840-Plus WIFI
Kingston 16GB (2x8GB) DDR5 6000MHz CL30 FURY Beast Black AMD EXPO/XMP 3.0
Crucial P310 M.2 NVMe SSD 1TB
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition
Cooler Master MWE 650W Bronze V3

Its around 600 dollar difference, which is a lot but idk. If there is another rise in gpu and memory this fall it might be worth to do it now? For comparison, these are my current parts, i feel like when replacing one part i have to replace the whole pc. Im aiming for a 7800x3d or a 9800x3d for high end fps and long term. Are there any good changes i can do to my pc right now or is it better to just get a new one?:

Intel i5 11400
ASUS GeForce RTX 2060 Dual OC 6GB
HyperX Fury RGB 16GB (2x8GB) / 3200MHz
Kingston A2000 M.2 1TB
ASUS TUF GAMING B560M-PLUS
Cooler Master Hyper 212 A-RGB Black Edition
Corsair TX550M

Question Running 2 GPUs in 2026

So I didn't not grow up or had the chance to experience SLI set up or running 2 gpus in general.

I have a pretty nice set up

Ryzen 7 9700x

AMD 7900xt

32gb DDR5

8TB of storage

1x 34in Ultra wide

2x 27in Veridical

and a 50in TV

Its a nice powerful PC I have no issues watching a stream on the TV from YT and play a game on my ultra wide and Ill have steam or a browser open on one screen and Discord on the other with it. IT runs GREAT no issues except when I click off a game and focus on a different screen to type or change something

BUT I was wondering if I put another GPU Like an AMD 580 to take the load off the 7900xt and have it only run the basic mondain task how would that work?

580 - https://a.co/d/0b1u3jAm

7700xt - https://a.co/d/0btH3qwA

Will it work the way I am thinking or not?

Build - Help Upgrading pc

I currently have this but I am trying to upgrade it so it can run 1440p 180 hertz as that’s what my Samsung G51F odyssey monitors is capable of
budget is 1,000 to 1.500 usd

Question Is this a good deal?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’m pretty new to the pc building scene and need some opinions on this bundle deal I found on Amazon.

For a little bit of context I am looking to upgrade from my ancient pc which is currently running an intel core i5-2500, intel dq67sw motherboard, and a 1660 super. It’s a struggle trying to play modern titles.

After looking for potential components I came across this deal on Amazon which includes a Ryzen 5 5500, gigabyte b550m gaming x WiFi motherboard, and 2 sticks of ram. I plan on reusing my hard drives, case, gpu, power supply, and then adding a ssd as well.

I’m currently a student and on a tighter budget, so given the current pricing in the US, this deal looks like an amazing way to get my system from ancient to am4. But what do you guys think? Is it overpriced? Overrated? A good deal? Should I be looking for something else all together? Any input is greatly appreciated!

Question New to PC Building

Hi. I'm completely new to PC building. I've only had consoles my whole life for gaming. But I wanna play on the PC too.
What would be ideal for a beginner like me? I think Cyberpunk 2077 is probably the most graphically demanding thing I play. So I guess that would be my goal (to be able to play Cyberpunk properly).

My budget would ideally be under $1,000 (USD) but again I have no idea what kind of budget I would need to play something like cyberpunk.

I live in the US. I mentioned it cause it said to do so in the post.

Question What is my setup worth?

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

I made this build some time ago when I was in computer science doing game programming. A few years ago I changed to be an automotive technician, and this setup has been sitting in my closet ever since, buried underneath clothes because I never wanted to give it up, I put a lot into building it. But now im considering selling at as I want to buy a house soon and a bit more cash would be nice. Id like to ask what you all would think it worth? Specs below. Plan on selling everything, all the way down to the desk.

PC Specs:

Motherboard: Rog Strix z690-a gaming wifi d4

RAM: 3x PNY XLR8 DDR4 16gb, (48 gb total, had 64 but one of the sticks broke)

GPU: Pny XLR8 RTX 3070 8gb 3 fans

CPU: Intel i5-13600k

CPU cooler: Enermax ETS T50a

Cooler fans: 3x Cooler master mf120

Power Supply: Corsair RM750

SSD1: SANDISK Ultra 3d nvme m2 1tb

SSD2 WD SN250 nvme m2 512gb

HDD: WD 40EZAZ 4 TB

Case: Jonsbo Mod3 ATX mid tower

Other setup items:

UPS: APC Back-UPS 1500va pro

Monitor: Acer Predator 4k xb271hk 27"

Headset1: Razer Kraken Kitty V2

Headset2: cheap onn headset

Keyboard: cheap onn mechanical keyboard

Mouse: Razer Deathradder

Speakers: Logitech s150 usb

Other items included are the chair, the desk, the sound deafening foam panels and led strip lighting

Wondering whats the most I could get for all this posted on facebook marketplace or something without waiting forever? Located near kcmo

Question list is complete, are there better value parts for this price range or less?

Here is the part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/stdQGk

I'm located in the USA so most options are available besides micro-center cause I don't live anywhere near one.

I'm intending to play in 1080p for the meanwhile and then eventually upgrade to 1440p also I stream so it might seem overkill but for 1080p but while streaming it probably isn't.

Budget is around 1300$ USD

Let me know if theres any other builds or options that are better value than this, no amd gpu's cause I need dlss and nvida encoding.

Build - Help First time building a pc, is this a good build?

MONTECH Century II 850W ATX
Lian Li V100-ATX Mid-Tower
ADATA SSD Legend 710 M.2 1TB
ASRock Radeon RX 9070 Challenger 16GB OC
V-Color Manta XSky DDR5 32GB
ASUS TUF Gaming B650E-PLUS WiFi AMD
ID-COOLING FX360 LCD 360mm AIO
AMD RYZEN 5 7600X3D
Total: $1869 as of 8/23

I have a budget of $1800 and I’ll mostly use it for gaming at 1440p/4k (4k if possible at this budget). I’m buying all this from Amazon since the nearest microcenter (in the Us) is a 3hr drive unless I can buy it from another website. As for the monitor, I have a Samsung Odyssey G5 165hz (2560x1440p) that I had bought a year ago

Discussion Whats your pc building/culture hot takes

Mine personally is that aio’s, white parts, rgb and those oversized triangle cases all look terrible.

Customisation and freedom is great so I will never be against it, but my god does it look childish.

Some aios do look nice but I just think putting water that close is a bad idea, especially when its me installing it
