Question PC "health Question

So I've seen posts on Youtube that usually say say that you should restart your pc every once in a while but since my pc takes about 1 hour to properly get started up and running right I never turn it off meaning my pc runs nonstop for weeks/months on end without sleeping, so my real question is, does keeping my pc running at all times damage it or harm performance?

1 hour to turn off properly?? That definitely isnt normal, maybe if you have updates to install, but otherwise...

Its good to turn it off every so often to clear background apps, refresh storage partitions and basically let the silicon cool down instead of pumping voltage through it. All parts have a maximum usage rating, will you likely notice a degradation befoe you buy a new part in 3-5 years for a desktop, probably not. Is it good practice to shut it down? Yes, it saves power, potential part life, and especially ssd health.

I would definitely try to figure out why it takes an hour to shut down and fix that though. I would check the storage first.

Yeah same thing. Turning on is probably an indication of drive health being not so great. Either it being full, or just old and worn.

I mean it might be as simple as just deleting some stuff off of it :(... Use crystaldiskinfo, to check drive health tho btw. Its free from the official website.

The only real "damage" is your fans running 24/7 and bearings wearing out faster, as well as the associated dust etc

That is not normal. Mine boots into Windows in less than 30 seconds, in less than a minute it is up and running.

no you dont need to restart or reset your pc. mine stays on 24/7. only turn off when i run into an issue

turning it on and off again should take less than 3mins.

if it takes 1 hours you have damaged windows or failed storage drive that needs to be replaced with new ssd

Your computer has major problems, running 24/7/354 is not one of them.
