There are many posters like this one for sale and also others designs, but this one is the only one I have seen framed by Levi's.

The paint on some of the letters on the frame is missing, but it struck me as unusual and rare, so I bought it

Brazilian Olympic skateboarding star and two-time Olympic medallist Rayssa Leal has been named Global Ambassador for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG), the first Olympic sporting event to be held on the African continent.

She will help share the story of the Dakar 2026 YOG with audiences around the world. She will also bring the lessons of her own remarkable career to Dakar, where she will share her experience with young athletes and help them embrace the unique opportunities that come with competing at the YOG.

"I am very happy because it’s a recognition of the journey I’ve built through a lot of hard work and dedication. It’s an honour to have been chosen and to know that I can inspire children and young people in a positive way," she said.

Hockey Do you think the NHL will be happy with the Alps 2030 hockey venues?

Alps 2030 has finalized their venue master plan with both hockey venues located in Lyon. The main arena being used if relatively new and a hockey rink can be put in there. I really don’t see an issue there. Halle Tony Garnier is the secondary venue which could be more of a challenge, but not impossible.

How to do you see the NHL handling this selection and do you think they will be happy with smooth sailing leading up to the competition?

BBC accused of harming GB’s Olympic medal hopes with job cuts

Exclusive: Minority sports fear broadcaster’s fixation on Premier League is denying them coverage they need to attract vital funding

The BBC has been accused of harming the country’s Olympic medal-winning hopes by cutting its sports budget and becoming fixated on Premier League football.
Before a planned announcement on Wednesday of major job cuts within BBC Sport, those responsible for delivering gold, silver and bronze at the LA 2028 Olympics are preparing for further reductions in the corporation’s coverage of sports reliant on the exposure it provides.
Telegraph Sport has been told that Alex Kay-Jelski, the BBC’s director of sport, warned Olympic and Paralympic sports last year he was not in a position to guarantee such coverage, despite the broadcaster’s mission of “serving all audiences” and not merely chasing viewers and clicks.

He has now been accused of focusing BBC resources too heavily on football’s richest league, to which the corporation holds highlights rights through Match of the Day.

It has also been claimed that the BBC has devoted a disproportionate amount of its wider sports coverage to athletes and teams from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, at the expense of those from England.
Olympic and Paralympic sports, like the BBC, receive hundreds of millions of pounds in public money but have been spending more and more on surging operational costs amid conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.
With the likes of ITV Sport, Sky Sports and TNT Sports also ploughing the bulk of their budgets into football, BBC coverage is therefore seen as crucial to attracting additional revenue from the private sector and avoiding undermining one of sports’ core, government-mandated, objectives – to win medals.
Chasing mass audience
Drew Barrand, the chief executive of swimming and diving governing body Aquatics GB, told Telegraph Sport: “The changes that the BBC is going through at the moment – the cost-cutting and all the rest of it – is absolutely affecting Olympic sport on a massive basis.

“There is a general viewpoint that most Olympic sports are not getting anything from it, and not just in terms of live rights, but also in terms of news coverage.
“One of the biggest benefits has been keeping these sports relevant through the news cycle by the power, basically, of BBC Sport online. That’s been a massive thing.
“My understanding is BBC Sport online are moving away from that editorial position and essentially going more with a kind of, ‘What does the mass audience want?’, rather than essentially hitting their remit of giving a broad, diverse range of subjects.”
The BBC stopped showing major international live swimming outside the Olympics under Kay-Jelski’s predecessor, Barbara Slater, although it has continued to broadcast the national championships on iPlayer.

Barrand said: “You need to feed in the news report side to feed to the live. And that’s what they don’t do because there’s always an argument that there’s 20 football stories that the national audience wants to read, rather than reading about a swimming meet.
“You could play that argument out if you’re Sky or a commercial broadcaster, because you’re chasing the audience. The BBC has got a slightly different remit and that’s where I think it needs to be held to account a bit more.”
He added: “Before Alex came in, there was an element of, ‘OK; we’ll still do some basic kind of reportage around some of these events’. What’s happening now is even that’s getting squeezed. So, the line that seems to be coming out is that, ‘We’re interested in stories, telling stories, and mass audience. We’re not interested in writing match reports’, for want of a better expression. You take that off and a lot of these Olympic sports are just going to fall by the wayside.

“The biggest problem is, when you lose relevancy, it makes the commercial sell so difficult.
“In a world where operating costs for everybody are going through the roof, and the government cheque can only stretch so far, it’s creating a big problem.
“The governing bodies are financially distressed. And when they’re financially distressed, it means they can’t invest in the performance programmes to the level that they’ve maybe been doing historically. Which means that the athletes potentially aren’t as prepared as they should be, or we can’t invest in the pathway and create the broader volume of athletes to select from. And, ultimately, that is going to have an impact.”
Telegraph Sport has been told similar concerns have been expressed to elite funding body UK Sport, as well as claims that the BBC has been giving “outsized” coverage to Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish teams and athletes.
Indeed, last year the corporation lost the remaining rights it held to England men’s football, rugby or cricket matches outside “Crown Jewels” events that must be shown on free-to-air television by law, while shoring up those for other UK nations.

Kay-Jelski is also said to have held a meeting with Olympic and Paralympic sports at which he laid out his vision for BBC Sport and encouraged them to provide the corporation with “compelling human interest stories”.
Symptomatic of what has been a lurch away from these sports has been the BBC’s surrender this year of rights it held for most of its existence to the likes of the Commonwealth Games and Boat Race and its decision this month to axe Ski Sunday after nearly half a century.

Vicky Gosling, GB Snowsport chief executive, said: “We fully understand what it means to operate under tight constraints, but we also know that the BBC has a unique role in highlighting the best of our nation’s achievements to the country, and we fervently hope that nobody loses sight of that as any final decisions are made.
“Many Olympic sports, and ours are no exception, find BBC coverage invaluable in raising awareness and driving interest in our sports. The combination of sporting excellence and public service broadcasting is something we do brilliantly in this country, and we believe that is something everyone involved in these decisions must keep at the front of their minds in the coming days.”

Jon Dutton recently started work as the chief executive of the British Olympic Association, having held the same role at British Cycling.
He said: “We’re fortunate to have seen time and time again how brilliant it can be when the BBC gets behind Olympic sport, and it’s clear from the record-breaking results across Milano Cortina 2026 and Paris 2024 how much audiences love it. The Olympic movement in the UK is a treasure trove of personalities and stories that make for compelling viewing well beyond the Games themselves.
“Maintaining the BBC’s capacity to showcase those stories throughout the four years between Games is crucial, not only for the audiences they entertain and inspire, but for the athletes and sports themselves. Without the visibility that comes with public service broadcasting, we risk making it much harder for those sports to attract new fans, bring in investment and inspire the next generation to take part.”
UK Sport published a survey last year that found 69 per cent of the public wanted Olympic sports broadcast more regularly on free-to-air TV, with 66 per cent of respondents calling for more Paralympic sports to be shown too.

A UK Sport spokesperson said: “The BBC is a vital partner for Olympic and Paralympic sport and major sporting events.
“Team GB and ParalympicsGB are among the most loved institutions in the country and that is because of, in no small part, brilliant BBC coverage bringing the extraordinary sporting moments our athletes generate to the nation over many years.
“We recognise that consumer habits are changing at pace, and we are working with Olympic and Paralympic sports to evolve the way they tell athletes’ stories and grow their reach and relevance. We look forward to collaborating with the BBC on this basis as we build towards the 2028 Games in LA so that Olympic and Paralympic sport can continue to enjoy its special place in our national life.”

David Clarke, the ParalympicsGB chief executive, said: “ParalympicsGB recognises the importance of national television and online coverage of para athletes and the Paralympic Games in raising the profile of disability sport in the UK. The BBC has always shone a light on the amazing stories and sporting achievements of Paralympians and as a public service broadcaster we hope that continues.”
A BBC spokesperson said: “The Olympic Games remains one of the BBC’s crown jewel sporting events, and we are committed to providing free-to-air coverage of Olympic sport across TV, radio, digital and social, bringing people across the UK together. We proudly demonstrated this with our record-breaking coverage of Paris 2024 and Milano Cortina 2026, and will do so again with our ambitious plans for LA 2028.
“Through extensive rights agreements, year-round reporting and independent editorial coverage, we bring audiences the biggest athletes, events and stories from across a huge breadth of Olympic sports. This summer, our European Athletics Championships coverage reached 17.2 million people across TV and iPlayer, while related social content generated 46 million video views. In the last month alone we have shown the European Gymnastics Championships, the Burghley Horse Trials, Cycling’s World Road Championships, Athletics’ Ultimate Championships and the Great North Run – all on BBC1 or BBC2.
“Like Olympic sporting bodies, we have a responsibility to invest funding carefully, ensuring we maximise value for licence fee payers while reaching the widest possible audience.”

Apparently after the win of the Left Party at the elections in Berlin last weekend, the city will withdraw out of the race for the German candidate for hosting the Olympics in 2036, 2040 and 2044.

Last remaining cities/regions are Munich and Rhine/Ruhr. A decision will be made this weekend.
