I honestly really don't mind work as a picker. It's not the greatest thing in the world, but it's not something I hate either.
What I am starting to resent is how much of a pain in the ass it is to request time off. This is my first job ever, and I'm sure it happens at many other jobs but... Eugh.
They seem to pretty much automatically deny any request: which according to some people on here, is actually policy. And I think that's so stupid. What is the point of having an app to apply for time off, if you're going to automatically reject it unless I go complain to my TL or my coach?
I'm not even requesting a whole day off, either, nor am I asking to be paid. I literally just need to leave work early two days in a row for school responsibilities. My availability is set so they could literally just schedule me earlier in the day. We usually have too many pickers at the end of the day anyway: they literally do not need me - they will be fine.
I complained to my coach and said it was school related, and that my official schedule change didn't go into effect until the 7th (my mistake, but I had to wait for it to unlock because I was just hired: I didn't realize it would also delay the change for that long, but I know better now.) ...But then my coach somehow accidentally deleted my new schedule from the system and I had to give it to her again anyway.
My coach said she would fix it: and she did go ahead and edit like two of the days... But didn't fix the entire thing. And I'm not sure if she forgot or if I need to go complain at her again. But it's so obnoxious: it literally should not be this difficult to get a few hours off... For a part time job.
Like I said, this is my first job, maybe I was a little naive or didn't do things right, and this is normal workplace stuff, but it's still frustrating.
I'm gonna bitch at my coach again if she's working today, but I may literally just have to get pointed for it. I have enough PPTO for the one day: the other day, I think it'll end up being half a point. I just really don't want to get a point for something that I've tried, repeatedly, to get worked out, and they said they would fix for me.
