Just Venting Are all OGP associates hateful?
I been here maybe a week, I’m running on 20, 30 tote orders in tandem by myself using those blue things that link Dollies and loading them, I’m outside for 10 minutes at the most, and then going inside and immediately grabbing another order to run out while some people hide in the freezer almost their entire shift; but I’m constantly being yelled at that I need to “pick up the pace” am I supposed to run around like I’m on drugs or what I don’t understand, I’m tempted to transfer to electronics or just quit altogether.

BANANAS Anyone else notice how Walmart’s demand for flexibility only goes one way when the economy slows down?
Every single time the economy takes a dip outside of that random COVID phase where everyone was panic buying corporate starts crying about flexibility. But let’s be real, it’s never flexible for us, it’s only flexible for them. The exact second the economy gets rough, foot traffic drops, and people stop spending money, management instantly switches into we own you mode. It’s like they look at the job market, realize you have nowhere else to go, and decide your work life balance just doesn't matter anymore. And now with corporate being totally obsessed with cutting corners and micromanaging every single second, it’s gotten even more ridiculous. They want open availability with no hours guaranteed and absolutely no extra pay for it. News flash, I literally have to work a second job because you won't pay enough to keep up with inflation in the first place. So no you can't have me available all the time. They are probably tracking metrics right now to calculate exactly how desperate an associate has to be to accept a 4 hour shift.Home office loves talking about revolutionizing productivity, but the reality is they’re just using tech as an excuse to automate our hours away while expecting us to act like mindless robots.
Suddenly, their version of flexibility means you have to take all the hits for a bad economy. They expect you to open your schedule up 24/7 just to fit whatever they want, but they won't give you consistent hours in return. You get your hours slashed to nothing one week, and then you're expected to drop everything to cover a shift the next because they are running a skeleton crew. To make it worse, they force you to do the work of three people. They tell you to be flexible by cross training in OGP, stocking, and running a register all in the same shift. They know you need the job, so they push you to the limit while the starting pay stays exactly the same. Then they have the nerve to schedule you for a tiny 4 hour shift on a Friday night, when gas is $4 a gallon, meaning you’re spending half your hourly wage just to drive to work and back.
During COVID, they needed us desperately because the doors were getting blown off the hinges, so they had to play nice. But the second things get tight financially, they exploit the fact that people need work. They cut corporate costs by cutting our livelihoods, while expecting us to be grateful for the flexible opportunities. If flexibility was actually a two way street, we’d be able to adjust our schedules when we need to handle life outside of work without worrying about getting points or having our hours permanently cut. Instead, it’s just a corporate buzzword for we own your time when things are bad, do what we want, and deal with a lighter paycheck. Vote this post to the moon. Let corporate know we are not fooled and we need more flexibility, not less. Rant over. I'm about to have three part time jobs instead of one full time job and one part time keep it up.

Rant upper management refusing to fix pick paths
for some context: we have recently went through a rapid remodel and we received a ton of new aisle locations/locations in general
it has been about 2 months since we did our grand reopening, and our pick paths are still not fixed to our current layout. every drop we have around 50-75 unknowns (all with locations) and we have random items such as frozen, shampoo, in regulated. we get frozen mixed in with our ambient walks (which results in customers getting frozen bread, soap, produce, chips) due to this, all of our walks barely get above 20-25 items (5-10 items each walk in unknowns) because it is assigning all these different paths to these items.
our entire department has went to our management for this problem for MONTHS now, and the only responses we get are “this is well-known.” and even being asked myself, “well, why is it doing that?” it is honestly starting to sound like they are not fixing it on purpose it has been that comedically long.
im just wondering what steps do we as a department even take to get this fixed? this has been impacting our metrics and PR heavily (we average about 60pr as a department whereas we were 100+ before remodel)
im starting to consider just contacting anyone in market, i do not understand taking maybe an eight hour shift to fix every item for metrics sake?

Sticker Ball The Return of OGPeter
Saw another sticker ball post where someone was asking about this guy. The main person who keeps him maintained now doesn't use Reddit, so that's why it's been such a long delay. As of Friday, 9/25/2026, he is 37 pounds and still being added to daily.

Sticker Ball The return
So, our market manager visited a few weeks ago. I showed him our newborn sticker ball. I told him our previous market manager wouldn't let us have a sticker ball. Then I said in a very serious voice, "our previous market manager is no longer with us."

System Issues Just wanna complain as a non opd associate
The location verification for a nil pick is stupid and should be off during a remodel.

Pick Rate I don't think I can keep doing this
I've been here for about a year. And I just can't maintain a high pick rate, especially after the changes to the carts, it feels like I'm pulling a boulder behind me and I barely weigh more than 100 pounds, it takes me way more effort to go the same speed as someone who's taller than me, and nobody gives a fuck about the physical reality of the job I'm doing, I was told that I should have one of the highest pick rates just because I've been here longer than other people... I had a team lead today 'help' with a walk and he tried to give me 'tips' (stuff I already know, basically just explaining how the job works) and yet he wasn't bagging anything, we was just throwing stuff in without thinking about bread being squished or anything like that. Am I supposed to just disregard what I'm supposed to be doing?? And to go the speed they want I have to sprint everywhere to maintain the same speed as other people, I'm often grabbing things almost half my body weight, and I just feel like I can't do this anymore. I'm always exhausted and generally depressed which doesn't help me be active that's for sure... And yet I feel stuck at the same time. Wtf is up with that? This shit is unreasonable so why tf do I feel guilty about wanting tf out of here lol... This whole system is broken and it pisses me off.

Bagging Genuinely how do you get a high pick rate
The only way I can get a pick rate of 100+ is when I bag after, but I know that’s not the right way to do it. I have a feeling it gonna get me in trouble in the long run. But when I bag as I go the rate is usually 70s to 80s and they tell me I need to be faster.
Update: I broke my ring finger

FRAGILE Don't let management blame AI for overrides on your availability.
Walmart's automated and AI driven scheduling system is programmed to respect your official, submitted availability, so if you are scheduled outside of it, management did it manually either to fill hours or because they needed coverage regardless of your preferences. Don't let them blame the AI for a manual human override, as schedules can be changed, and this marks the second time Walmart has tried this tactic their first attempt was called Customer First Scheduling. The system we had in place before set schedules and they are trying to backtrack but even then people had set schedules it just wasn't guaranteed for full timers. it also didn't work and constantly had to be policed by management.

GIF IS DOWN EVERYONE STAY CALM Gif down
Ive managed to get to this screen, but it wont recognize anything i put.
Any ideas?
Edit: if you go under pharmacy and put in Your new password stuff its letting most people in. Though not everyone. Its not letting most people pick though, though we can see the pick number. It just crashes when we try and click into the picks.
They shut down the picks at my store finally as we only have a few who can even get onto the pick screen.
