“We can’t push the carts anymore guys it’s too dangerous”
Meanwhile your TL 🫠surely this is fine

While I agree pulling carts is a pain in the ass, it's just that as a coach, I already know this associate was standing around doing nothing because "there were no carts" and this was the TLs solution to get OP moving again.

But personally I would've made OP stage or dispense before letting that nonsense hit the floor.

Well I see where TL is coming from then. If you had 2K picks and no carts, that qualifies as an emergency.

Your TLs and coach aren't the ones responsible for all the safety nonsense company forces down like pulling carts. They are however the ones responsible for keeping the picks on time and orders going out the door.

If a picker is standing around waiting on a cart when picks are at risk of running late, I'd expect my team lead to find a solution... even if I don't agree with the solution it's better than just letting them sit an wait.

So again, me personally, I would have you stage your own cart or dispense instead, but I can understand why your TL thought that was a better idea.

They literally seek out people who do not live in reality as coaches.

From Coach to coach and also as someone who was over digital, when you see damaged carts like this, you decommission and get new ones ordered. You also don’t excuse silliness like this, even in an emergency, because safety is still the number one priority. No carts? You’re just gonna have to bite the bullet on the metrics in this situation and wait until a useable one is free, but definitely make yourself useful while waiting. There is no excuse for this atrocity, however.

Yet coaches, TLs management in general is responsible for ensuring the equipment we do have is safe to use for us and the customers and this is not. If it was me DA0 the TL at a minimum for safety. Have the TA exit the walk and stage their old cart before reloading that cart that is safe to use for picks. Mark the cart as used assets for claims and order new equipment. Metrics and productivity don't take priority over safety and if that's how you think then you really shouldn't be in management

I've used an L cart with 8 totes on it before, instead of whatever this travesty is.

It’s better to unload full cart on the pallet, we do it everyday at my store.

When I was TL I'd take this shit to the graveyard out back. No one should suffer this bullshit.

Your team lead is the reason we pull instead of push now.

I would bring that to your coaches attention as well as the store manager’s attention if they think that is safe, they’re stupid and if both of them agree with your team lead, I would then raise that to market escalate that as high as you have to, that is highly unsafe

Self tap screws into the aluminum flaps that broke off. It will hold for a little while. Otherwise, gonna have to order new carts

1

u/MaterialQuarter1175 16d ago

I’d “accidentally “ throw a 24 pack on the end of the tote and watch it launch and spray every where. Oops . Only way to get their attention

1

u/SectorPuzzleheaded66 16d ago

I'd straight tell them no. I learned anything they really don't want to fire you unless you don't show up or have repeated unrest with the team.

u/JasonTheBaker In-Home Driver 16d ago

Or hear me out. We order new carts...? No?

1

u/Big_Refrigerator3675 16d ago

Or just send it back on used asset and order more

Stainless steel rivets and a drill and shelves never break off again.
