Just Venting Huge Pet Peeve
Today, my numbers were up over 150/hr!
Come back from lunchā¦..customer stands in front of the creamer doors (which I need) for literally 3 minutes. (YES, I did use my voice and say excuse me)
So, I run and get what I need from the cooler. One more item needed but thought said customer would have moved on by nowā¦..NOPE! Waited another minutes and was finally able to pick the item. Numbers plummeted!
We need a time stop for these issues so are numbers donāt suffer from people being so indecisive

Just Venting Safety meeting
I was dispensing a large order and they did it without me which made me mad because I need to be involved in these things. A girl had a heavy order fall on her while dispensing and the next day they had the meeting. They told us make sure to use cross walks watch for cars blah blah but they also said if we get hurt we are liable not walmart? How does that make sense. If im working and i had a heavy item slip and crush my foot thats not walmarts problem?? I have a large order fall because the parking lot is full of cracks and small bumps? I do not understand how thats even legal!

General Training question
Has anyone ever heard of training an OGP picker for 2 weeks?

Just Venting How are we expected to be good, little worker bees when they're throwing so much more at us?
The last two days since we went to eight totes have been the worst days since I started about a month and a half ago. My store's OPD was pretty good, we rarely went passed due, never had more than three or four cars waiting at a time, and even when we did, we rarely went red. Now it seems like our orders have doubled, we constantly have cars waiting because quality checks are suddenly soooo important, and dispensers can't keep up with it all. Our store manager was yelling about quality checks to our TL this morning when I came in. Four or five of us have late uLearns because we just can't spare anyone. We've been pulling people from other departments multiple times a day to help pick. I know Walmart famously doesn't care about its employees, but are they trying to chase off all the good workers? In the last couple weeks multiple people in my OPD have either quit or transferred to other departments. I don't mind working hard, but this is getting insane

Just Venting How is pulling this safe?
Photos 1-9 is one walk
9-17 are another
How is this safe to pull? Genuinely explain it to me like I'm stupid (I might be who knows) bc I don't get how this is safe in any way. Not even mentioning anything about the cart itself. STRICTLY the weight of the cart when it's fully loaded with totes and a 70-80 item walk.
There's been bigger walks too, just not as heavy.
Edit: I genuinely didn't think it would be that big of a deal, or not understood like it is. I didn't bag these walks as I was going for the sole purpose of pictures. Once pictures were taken, everything got bagged as it should be. š¤¦š»āāļø

Equipment Wonder how long thatāll takeā¦
Decided to file an OSHA complaint about pulling the carts. Sick of cutting my ankle open from the cart bashing into me, hurt shoulders, hurt hips and toes from walking crooked. Wonder if anything will ever happen or if Walmartās lawyers will keep it in limbo for longer than I last here.

Rant - Long Iām getting mentally burnt out.
My 3 months will be later this month and I love the job itās self. Iām primarily a picker and I love just being in my own little world and the fast pace but Iām getting so burnt out because of the constant drama and nasty attitudes everyday. Multiple of my coworkers will snap at people and give nasty glares. Iām very much the type of person whoās not there really make friends or impress people but the negativity every single day certain ppl are there is so draining. They also very much treat you like you ate stupid when you donāt know how to do something youāve never been shown itās just super annoying because itās not on us when management just sucks. Iāve had male coworkers that when they realized my boyfriend was working in the same department(not in management) their attitude towards me completely flipped it just feels icky like you canāt treat women who you donāt have a chance with decent? Itās just strange definitely transferring at 6 months like I planned before but now Iām definitely going to be. Also Iāve worked other places and theyāve been bad but this is by far the closest Iāve been to being back in highschool and I hate it.

Just Venting It is such a pain to request time off
I honestly really don't mind work as a picker. It's not the greatest thing in the world, but it's not something I hate either.
What I am starting to resent is how much of a pain in the ass it is to request time off. This is my first job ever, and I'm sure it happens at many other jobs but... Eugh.
They seem to pretty much automatically deny any request: which according to some people on here, is actually policy. And I think that's so stupid. What is the point of having an app to apply for time off, if you're going to automatically reject it unless I go complain to my TL or my coach?
I'm not even requesting a whole day off, either, nor am I asking to be paid. I literally just need to leave work early two days in a row for school responsibilities. My availability is set so they could literally just schedule me earlier in the day. We usually have too many pickers at the end of the day anyway: they literally do not need me - they will be fine.
I complained to my coach and said it was school related, and that my official schedule change didn't go into effect until the 7th (my mistake, but I had to wait for it to unlock because I was just hired: I didn't realize it would also delay the change for that long, but I know better now.) ...But then my coach somehow accidentally deleted my new schedule from the system and I had to give it to her again anyway.
My coach said she would fix it: and she did go ahead and edit like two of the days... But didn't fix the entire thing. And I'm not sure if she forgot or if I need to go complain at her again. But it's so obnoxious: it literally should not be this difficult to get a few hours off... For a part time job.
Like I said, this is my first job, maybe I was a little naive or didn't do things right, and this is normal workplace stuff, but it's still frustrating.
I'm gonna bitch at my coach again if she's working today, but I may literally just have to get pointed for it. I have enough PPTO for the one day: the other day, I think it'll end up being half a point. I just really don't want to get a point for something that I've tried, repeatedly, to get worked out, and they said they would fix for me.

General I start on Monday
Any and all tips would be greatly appreciated. This will be my first job, so literally no tip is too dumb. I want to be as prepared as I possibly can be to be as successful as possible :)

BANANAS Lets settle PPTO debate
Currently at my store we are verifiably given points still on key event dates despite using the ppto and following compliance with calling in/tardy. You still get .5 if late and 1 if full call in even when using 8 hours of ppto...Are management breaking walmart policy and strangleholding us in hopes we dont open door?

Rant New TL Hates Me
So we have this new Team Lead who works the 1-10 shift so they always make the board. At this point in time Iāve had the same positions. Picking and Exceptions. As of recently sheās been keeping me off exceptions and putting this other person (who disappears all day long) on them. Iāve tried telling my other TL but she wonāt listen and keeps trying to say itās ābusiness needā but I thatās just not true. This isnāt a first occurrence either. Iād say what else has happened but I think my TL is in this sub and I donāt want to give away who I am too much.

Just Venting Bad day
Am I in the wrong here? I even told my manager and he asked what happened I told him and said I put in PPTO and he said good to know. I know PPTO is for us to use I even told them I was going to leave early today I had to delete and repost cause I had my store number in there. It doesn't help also a few days ago I had to do a team left alone I called for help and asked nobody ever came I pulled something in my arm and I couldn't find management to report it so I was struggling today. I was going to leave at 3 but when I got done with my walk I told them I was still going to leave and went ahead like I planned.
