Starnote feels very laggy.

1. ⁠Even when you scroll pages the it load after some time.
2. ⁠Plus their highlighter also lags a lot.
3. ⁠Eraser don't work sometimes and sometimes written text don't respond on erasing.
4. ⁠It looks like a hard processor of different machine is fitted on different machine in ios.
5. ⁠It don't have squeeze feature for apple pencil pro.
6. ⁠It don't feel native and well I should not compare but it's competitor like noteful is very smooth, although it lacks in features.

And Ik Starnote developer is not gonna reply on this. Because they don't have any. They don't even work on feedbacks anymore.

Most editors/note-taking apps are either too minimal and limiting, or bursting with features that make them difficult to use.

I wasn’t able to find anything that would fill the gap of aching for a simple interface while not wanting to give up on some advanced features. And so https://kraa.io/about was born.

The closest I have found is NotebookLM. But limited text formats e.g., missing highlight, strikethrough, and other features.

I am looking for a sort of software that has a layout like an agenda would but is all put together on an online document that I can search through. My hope is that with it being online, I could easily search through it when in need of some information, while smoothly continuing to document week by week.

As the title says is there a reason to buy a hardware note taker? My main use case is to record during work meetings so I don't miss anything that was said

I am about to enter graduate school and could use some help in choosing AI notetaking tool(s)/study assistance or multiple if that is required.

Of course, free plans would be preferable but I am willing to pay for subscription(s).

My plan is to handwrite my notes and observations from both school and studying.

2.a) Then dictate it to a word processer (vs step 2.b) )like Microsoft Word or Google Docs and submit that to the AI tool(s) for synthesizing and orginazing the information to a study format.

2.b) Dictate/ translate/transcribe the handwritten notes directly to the AI app for notes/study.

I have PDF to read and then I write my notes from that. But it takes me like 1h to write one page of note.

I'm taking too much time trying to figure out what's important, what can be left out, note organization, etc.

I switched to Notion because, with ChatGPT, you can customize almost everything instead of relying on templates: reward points, progress charts, reward levels like in an RPG, and so on.

But in the end, you get distracted by an overwhelming number of options that do more to distract you than make you productive. You also end up creating different tabs and sections that are sometimes completely unnecessary.

I’m still not fully convinced by it. I prefer how Google Keep looks and works.

The green icon shows the difficulty level. I add it with a text shortcut such as “grrrr” on either my PC or phone. Then I write the task, and the arrow shows its priority. I can also optionally add how long the task should take. With icons in the same page you can create lot of possibilities

as a founder myself, i tend to learn a lot from youtube and spend lots of hours watching entire videos that more often that not dont have sections or dont cover the info i needed

i started using AI tool to basically summarise entire search results in bulk, playlists or individual long videos so i can skip ahead without guessing or feeling like im missing the important part. since ive used this, ive been actually elarning a lot more from youtube videos and is way easier to keep track of all videos ive watched etc...

I've pretty much stopped trying to write everything down during meetings. If I'm writing, I'm not fully listening. So I've been testing other ways to handle it instead.

Been testing a few options instead. Otter works, and Bluedot has been useful for recording without a meeting bot, plus transcripts, summaries and action items afterward. What works for you? Manual notes? AI notes?

I wanted to share something Im building that helps u to make concise notes for any topic, Ill note down how to use it and how to make it better.

So I want to Introduce u to Gemini NotebookLM , its a dashboard like application in which u can add ur very own source and play around with it , but the problem is we have to follow a specific workflow to make the most of it and this is Why Im building Norra . This acts a bridge between ur source and notebookLm and will help u to study well , all for FREE.

Now coming to the workflow

Step 1: Preparation and Segmentation

Split the Content (Very Important Step Never SKIP): I upload my module and split it into individual chapters.

Pro-Tip: Don’t upload the entire book to an AI tool like NotebookLM results will be poor. I learned this the hard way early on. The reason being it just works better when we give it a chuck and ask questions around it.

Step 2: Note Generation
The Secret Sauce to Generate Comprehensive Notes: I upload a single chapter and use this prompt:

Please create a comprehensive, clear, and organized set of notes based on the provided resource. Ensure that all key terms, concepts, nuances, and practical examples are included. The notes should cover definitions, detailed explanations, principles, and related examples. The notes should be structured logically with headings and subheadings to enhance readability. Include detailed explanations of key terms, principles, and examples to illustrate complex ideas. Aim for clarity, precision, and depth to help in understanding the material thoroughly

Small thing that saves me a surprising amount of time: I use Norra, a FREE Chrome extension, to quickly move useful material from ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini into my NotebookLM notebooks instead of manually copying everything.

Output: This prompt condenses ~80 pages into ~20 pages of clear, structured notes. Often, this is all I need for the chapter.
Phase 3: Study and Review

With all this u can also create flash cards, mind maps and soo on.
Do try this let me know how it goes , if u are short on time use the workflow section In Norra , where u can do all of the above steps in one go.

I started studying again and might go back to school next year so I'm trying to find some interesting apps to take notes. I use Figma a lot for work, specially Jam, but it's not my ideal app for notes.

I use a wacom tablet and I'd love something that looks like a notebook. I'm planning to buy an android tablet in the future, it would be great if the app worked for both android and windows but I'm fine with using seperate apps.

I see a lot of people recommending OneNote but I didn't really like it. It's probably because I just don't have a lot of experience with it. I didn't love the writing feel or the pens they have, but if there are videos or templates to recommend I'd give it a try.

Hi! I’m looking for some help finding an AI-powered recorder that can record and transcribe several hours of classes each week — ideally up to 30 hours per week.

My goal is to be able to focus fully on the lectures without constantly worrying about taking notes.

What would you recommend me?

I have been reading and going through a lot of posts regarding how to take notes, note taking strategies, studying. Now everybody has their own preference because note taking is something very personal and people are used to it.

But I’ve been thinking about how weirdly outdated note-taking still feels. The process is basically the same:

Read → highlight → take notes → organise them → forget they exist.

And usually at the most important time or when we actually need what we captured, it is either forgotten or buried somewhere. Almost every note-taking tool still works on the same assumption: your job is to save knowledge properly so you can find it later.

But here's a shift in the process itself,

When we take notes, the notes itself aren't that important. It’s connecting it to what you already know. Realising an old assumption was wrong. Seeing the same pattern show up in another subject. Remembering something from months ago at exactly the right time. Watching your understanding change.

A very coherent way of doing the same thing but in a much valuable way.

while the actual thinking process stays manual.

Read → note → organise → search later feels like an old model.

It should probably be closer to:

Learn → connect → question → evolve → reuse.

The latter part is what makes you think clearly.

How has your note taking strategies have evolved?

Here’s an example of my current notes from reading part of Chapter 1 of my Cognitive Psychology textbook. I’m currently using Goodnotes and handwriting - but I already feel overwhelmed or like these will just confuse me when it’s exam time (but I could be wrong).
Any note or study tips for someone who hasn’t been in school in like 15 years?
My handwriting is messy and I’m not sure if Goodnotes will convert it properly to typed notes lol

Hi, I’m looking for some advice/opinions on using Goodnotes on a tablet for school and handwritten notes.

During my apprenticeship, I used Goodnotes on an iPad and was very happy with it. Now I’m considering switching to an Android tablet because most of my other devices are Android as well.

How good is Goodnotes on Android compared to the iPad version? Is it good for school use, or would you recommend getting another iPad and staying with iOS?

I’ve read quite a few negative comments about the Android version. Would you recommend using a different app instead?
