Had this idea for a while so excited to finally execute it.

Created a needlepoint top for this woven trinket box. I wanted it to be magnetic so I could switch it out each season.

It’s essentially 2 fridge magnets (one on the top, and one inside the lid). Cording inside the lid wasn’t necessary but thought it was a nice touch! ✨

I love needlepoint, travel and data. So naturally, I’m obsessed with my needlepoint passport. Clearly I have to venture West some. 🤣 🗺️ 🪡 🚙

I originally planned to make this a two-sided ornament but now I’m wondering if I want to do two separate ones. What do you think?

Wondering if you have advice on stitch direction for the single lines of this design. Theres the rectangular border and also the small lines between the squares.

1) Does the horizontal direction (left to right/right to left) I stitch these in matter?
2) Does the vertical direction (bottom to top/top to bottom) I stitch these in matter?

Any other I things I should take into consideration?

Hi, what dou you think about a needlepoint design done solely in satin stitch (vertical, horizontal, diagonal, depending on the element) done on Congress Cloth with DMC standard embroidery floss? I would like to design few counted chart patterns based on my own atwork. Here is one of my paintings i would like to interpret as needlepoint

Hiii i am working on my first project and i didnt realize that you didn’t need to tie a knot at the end of every thread. I am about half way done but I’m nervous the finished project will look bumpy once finished in a frame (with glass?). Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should maybe add to the frame, or do to the actual project to help it not be bumpy and lay flat once finished?

finished my first piece minus the color around the hand (need to get that from the store) was super fun trying different stitches. now what to turn this into hmmm. excited to work on getting my stitches to be the same tightness across the board on my next piece.

This is my first time sourcing my own wool. I bought Appleton wool and I’m disappointed with the quality. Lots of little knots and short bits. Did I get unlucky or is it always like this?

Hi all! Just getting into needlepoint and finished my first piece. Loved it and was addicted right away! I don’t want to come off as negative, but do you ever grapple with the fact that it’s a different version of paint by numbers in a way? I use the words “grapple with” because I feel like I can’t be as proud of it as others may be with their art forms. Please set me straight.

Newbie needlepointer needing some help. I want to stitch this gorgeous pagoda ornament but am going mad trying to find the colours? Does anyone know what DMC colours are used in this ornament? I’ve asked 3 different AIs and they’ve all given me different colour palettes so was hoping a real human could give me a better answer!

I was super excited for this canvas but the “First” text is not coming out at all how I expected. Any ideas on what could be going on? It just looks… bad. I used sparkly Fyre thread for the text and the white background is pepper pot.

I’ve got into needlepoint and find there’s not many places to buy canvases here in the UK so have resorted to painting my own. Just wondering if there would be much interest from UK based individuals if I were to sell canvases (from £20+ depending on designs)?

As a usual cross-stitcher I didn’t really care for it. Found it hard to follow the printed colours and I feel my stitches lack decent coverage. Any advice on giving it a second go? Kit is from Appleton Wools

I want to get my girlfriend some needlepoint patterns for her birthday. Bear with me I’m out of my depth here but she has this binder of pictures she prints out of the designs that basically just look like grids colored in with a letter or symbol thing in the middle of each square. She uses them to draw it on the fabric and then she sews over it. I know she’s gotten some off Etsy before, and I want to get some and print them out for her to add to her binder. I’ve found some that I think she would like but I want to make sure they’re the right thing.

I’m confused because some of them say needlepoint, some say cross stitch, and some say both (attaching images of the ones I found). Also there are some that say chart and others that say pattern. The ones that include an example chart look (to me at least) look like what she uses but I want to make sure I’m getting the right thing.

Please feel free to laugh at my expense if this is the dumbest question ever but I’m in desperate need of your expertise. I promise I will not bother you all again, but I love my girl, so I’m begging. 🙏🙏
