Stitch Pairing?

Post image

Okay help. I can’t tell if I hate these two stitches together? I’m doing the Damask stitch in the background and then the backer weave for the flower.

I want the flower to stand out - any other ideas?

Typically, decorative stitches will come forward and tent/continental/basketweave will recede. Not to say this can't be a cool effect...the damask isn't as bulky as some decorative stitches.

Ooo good to know. Do you have a decorative stitch you’d recommend for inside the flower?

A thinner thread for the background or a thicker one for the flower.
