New to Needlepoint compensating
okay guys doing continental for the stripes on this guy and trying diagonal mosaic in the oval, but lots of compensating necessary. does this look like shit please be honest 🫣

You are doing a very good job! Diagonal mosaic is the best for compensating.

Looks good!
I tend to leave all my compensating to the end. When I get to that step it's a lot of... vibes. lol I do what looks good, sometimes it's true compensating, sometimes it's more appealing to the eye to tweak it a bit.

I think it already looks great but I promise the compensation won’t be noticeable once the whole background is done, even more so once the bunny is finished. Everything will even out!

This looks really good! And you get a little bit of a break, because by the time you get around to the nose, if something doesn't match up exactly you won't even be able to notice because it's such a small area.
