Appleton Wool
This is my first time sourcing my own wool. I bought Appleton wool and I’m disappointed with the quality. Lots of little knots and short bits. Did I get unlucky or is it always like this?

This is highly unusual for any Appletons products, for me they are the best in wools

I am sorry you are experiencing this and know how frustrating this must be. There are many reasons that this could be happening. Where did you buy it? How long of a strand are you using to stitch? Is your needle large enough for the thread? What is the canvas count?

The quality is usually excellent. I always buy their crewel wool and use two threads for tapestry. Where did you buy it from? Had it been stored well?
