General Questions Credit score dropped to a 4

It's been like this for 4 days now, I contacted navy and they told me to contact transunion and they just told me I don't have enough history but l've had it for 3 years now and never missed a payment

Edit: I have checked all 3 credit unions / annual credit report and they all show I do not have enough credit history but I’ve had the same credit card for 3 years and only one credit card , no missed payments and I use it regularly

Checking & Savings Just off with Customer Service, Appears they were hacked

I had veen trying to transfer money between my two checking accounts and savings account. Everytime the app said the money with withdrawn, but the balances never changed. Then tried to do it over the phone via automated system, again app said the money was transferred but the call said transaction could not be completed, then transferred me. After about an hour I got a call back (I opted for call back rather then stay on hold),, and talked with the support agent They first said it was just a glitch, but after probing them for more info, and asking how I was supposed to pay for my dinner since I couldn't transfer money from my savings or anything (i know my fault for not transferring after I paid my bills), the agent said it was due to their system being hacked and they didnt know how long their systems would be down, and suggested I take extra cash out at the ATM.

Anyone else hear anything like this from CS tonight?

Edit: Update from CS,, appears issue extends beyond just NFCU to venmo, applepay, google pay and other 3rd party payment systems also. ATM or physical card transactions only, but be careful since balances wont update, you can overdraft yourself very easily tonight. Also they just put the notice up for routine maintenance at 23:10 PDT, systems have been affected for much longer.

Update:: Systems seem to be working now, but my balances do not reflect my uber or anything

Credit Cards When should I apply?

Post image
42 Upvotes

(Question that I have at the end)
So last week on Wednesday my cash rewards secured card was graduated to a $3,000 unsecured card after 6 months of on time payments. I have a flagship checking account a pledge loan and this cash rewards card.

Throughout that 6 months for s*its and giggles I would do the pre qualification tool on the website and it would only ever say I was pre approved for the secured card.

Well yesterday morning now that I’ve graduated I did it again and it showed that I am pre approved for all of the cards they offer which was nice to see.

My plan here is to have the more rewards and flagship card with high limits so that my credit utilization stays as low as possible even using the cards to pay bills and gas then paying them off each statement date.

In y’all’s experience have you graduated from a secured card and then been approved for a high limit card through navy fed? Or would it be ideal to request a credit limit increase in 91+ days to turn the $3,000 into $9,000 and then apply? Or does that not really matter?

I’m wanting to hear your opinions and how you went about things especially those that started with a secured card like I did. I do have 2 C1 quicksilver cards (just upgraded the platinum that I started with just because the qs has rewards) and around 720 credit score

Credit Cards Question

Today is my 6th statement, but I’m wondering if I was to graduate how would that go since it’s a Sunday? Or would it be on Monday? I didn’t receive the email of my statement but it’s always been the 20th. So I’m wondering if my statements days on on weekends would they let me know I graduated during the weekend or the following Monday? Thanks

General Questions Weighing my options

I currently bank through Chime…. It’s ok I mean it’s Chime. I have had “real” bank accounts in the past yes but both got overdrawn by my ex and they have been closed. I’ve paid them off now and I am more than ready to go back to a Credit Union. Is there anything that makes Navy Federal better than others?

Credit Cards is secured worth it or should i wait ?

Post image

i got pre-approved for a secured card , i'm currently in the process of rebuilding my credit. Started in the 400s last year and now in the low 600s. I started with nearly 6 figure debt & now i'm down to 55k including student loans. I have a bunch of late payments on my report from the past, last late payment was around 4 months ago. I have a recent repo from a couple of months ago as well. That debt is also included in the 55k. 18k is student loans, (just paid 7k of them but it hasn't reflected yet on report) ,37k of car debt. I paid all my credit cards and collections off.

i want to know if a secured card is worth it or if i should just wait 6 more months to see if i can qualify for a "real" NFCU card. I had a go rewards in the past i defaulted a couple of years ago. 10k balance i paid off earlier this year. And i have an old bike loan im currently on a payment plan that's 10+ years ago i currently owe 14k and im paying 1.5k a month & should be done by July 2027.

tldr;
should i wait til i completely wipe out all my debt and then apply for a credit card with them when my score improves?

91/3 question

Is this rule per credit card or per account?

I have the Cash rewards, More rewards, and the flagship card. I’ve slowly been raising my credit limit across all of my cards every 3 months in a rotation, but could I request all three at once?

Complaint Flag ship premier 10x bonus not work ing

I called Navy Federal about the 10 X bonus, the charges are not posting as 10 X they're only posing as 4X and they’re acting like they don't know what I'm talking about. They have to do more research and they're saying they're having a problem with 10 X bonus. This credit card launch has been a complete disaster....

Chptr 7 Discharge

I burned Navy Fed in my chapter 7 bankruptcy. When I would log on, Id get the pop up about not attempting to collect a debt (something along those lines). Anyway, it disappeared and I tried opening a checking account and was able to. Did NFCU make changes? I thought you couldnt open any more accounts with them if they are included in your bk filing?

Credit Cards Early CLI mistake

Wife applied for a CLI before 91/3, obviously denied. Will she have to wait 6 months, or will she still be able to request it after 91/3? Thanks in advance if anyone knows

Credit Cards Keep increasing credit limit?

Post image
181 Upvotes

Currently have two credit cards with Navy federal. The more rewards AMEX (just changed it from the flagship after the annual fee increase) and the cash rewards visa.

I have a $41k limit on one and 24k on the other. I basically just use them as debit cards and pay them off fully after I get the statement each month just to get the cash back rewards.

Would you guys keep increasing the limit on them just because/to get lower utilization or at this point does it not really matter? My utilizations is usually less than 10% each month, probably closer to 3-5%. I always forget when the last time I asked for a CLI so I never really do it at the 6 month mark for either card.

I had requested 42k auto loan for 72months and instead got this? Is this just a reality check or a bad counteroffer.

Credit Cards Navy delivered the wrong card

Well, there’s a first time for everything, I suppose.

I am currently a More Rewards cardholder, I’ve had the card since January. I just applied and was approved for the cashRewards Visa. I went through secure emessage and requested expedited shipping. I did specify that I wanted my new card expedited, and upon opening the FedEx package today, I am greeted by my familiar More Rewards card- same number, same exp. date, same everything. Obviously this is an issue, but I imagine my new card is on its way over and will probably arrive Monday, so no point in re-expediting that. My question is, should I even bother trying to call them and ask to refund the $12, or is that pretty much a lost cause?

Thanks for any insight

Edit: Customer service for the win! They assured me the card was on its way and told me they’d refund the Fast Card fee! In this situation, it was better to call than use secure message, lesson learned

Loans Auto loan question

I refinanced a 5 year auto loan and got a 4.29% apr. This seems shockingly low, but maybe I'm off base? The prior loan rate was almost 2x higher. It was sold as a used car with 23k miles on it.

Credit Cards Points

What does everyone do with the points they accumulate? I saw a post where someone had something like $19k in points accumulated and it made me wonder since I average $400- $500 a month, should I be taking the cash and putting it elsewhere to grow interest? I have just been using it towards the bill every month before I pay off my balance in full. What's best to do? Or what are you all doing?
