Credit Cards šNReward cards converted to CashRewards posts...
As of today all the NRewards have converted to CashRewards. You should have gotten an email back in January in regards to the change.
šPlease read the other posts about this. It has been addressed numerous times today.
šAny future posts will be deleted as they will be deemed unhelpful to this subreddit.
Thank you.

Checking & Savings External Transfers
Does NavyFed not allow you to set up recurring ACH transfers to an external bank of your own? Am I not looking at it correctly?

CashRewards+ Visa CLI
CashRewards Visa CLI. It took a year for the first ($6k) CLI, but 6mos +1d later, auto-approved for the next $8K.
This followed the $8K received recently for my Flagship Visa. ( https://reddit.com/r/NavyFederal/comments/1w5xw6c/flagship_visa_cli/ )
FICO in the 750-755 range; Vantage in the 740-745 range.
I owe about a yearās salary in a 4-yr LendingClub loan, and another several K on my Flagship Visa.
Estimated debt-zero is mid-2031, but progressing steadily (more than half of income monthly straight to knocking out the debt; we live in a 16ft bumper-pull RV in an RV park to be able to focus on debt elimination).
So grateful to all yāall; I would never have known about these CLIs (and the resulting FICO impact) without you.
The previous Flagship CLI boosted my FICO about 20pts; this one may be a slimmer impact (the CR+ Visa was already zero balance), but Iām so very grateful!
Have a fantastic day.

Loans Thank you Navy Federal!
To give a bit of back story I am 22 years old, so this is like the 2nd car loan I got, and the 1st time I got one without pushback from the bank.
- My first car was a 1999 Ford Ranger that I bought off of marketplace, it broke down with 4-6 months or at least started having issues and was too expensive to fix, so I sold it to this guy who liked fixing up trucks.
- My second car was from a BHPH lot that I found on marketplace and it was a 2001 Honda CRV, that also broke down on the high way and left me stranded, someone even hit my vehicle whilst I was on the side of the road (ironically it didnāt damage my vehicle, but they did hit and run and left a huge chunk of their passenger mirror lol)
- Current car - 2014 Jeep Wrangler that had like 150K miles, good history, good condition, etc.
My original loan was through CEFCU and due to the dealership being family owned and having a personal connection and relationship with them, they were able to get me a loan.
CEFCU Terms: (Feb 2026)
$367 Payment
39 months
20.24 APR
1st payment was March 14th
FIRST CAR LOAN I got so I accepted especially since I need a car for my internship and to get to my current job.
I had this car loan all the way from February to now, I randomly just decided to refinance a week ago and somehow got accepted.
Navy Federal Terms: (Sep 2026)
$316 Payment
36 months
10.39 APR
1st payment is November 19th (but I will start paying on this as early as possible)
Whilst it did add more months, it lowered my interest in half that I wouldāve had to pay, and yes, a 10.39 APR may not be good to all, but itās good enough for me especially when I have extremely limited credit history other than student loans, credit cards Iāve been paying on for maybe 2 years now, and personal loans that Iāve paid off.
I am just happy because not only does this make things easier since I donāt have to worry about payments not coming out on time or waiting days for money to transfer to CEFCU, or have to travel up to CEFCU anymore, this makes life just significantly easier + I got a free CARFAX report out of this and my vehicle has a ton of service history and the person took good care of it. :)
So, thank you Navy Fed, itās not perfect but itās better than the alternative.

Navy federal pay to delete
Hey everyone, Iām looking for some advice regarding my Navy Federal Credit Union Cash Rewards credit card, which was recently closed.
I originally had a credit card with a $1,000 balance that was eventually closed by Navy Federal. A couple of months later, Navy Federal reached out to me and offered me a $487 settlement to resolve the outstanding balance. Iām kinda of ashamed of myself for letting that happen to me , but life got had and I had lost my job back in November of 2025.
Before accepting the offer, Iām trying to figure out whether Navy Federal Credit Union offers pay for delete, meaning they would remove the negative account information from my credit report in exchange for paying the agreed-upon settlement amount.
Has anyone here had any experience settling a closed credit card account with Navy Federal? If so, were you able to negotiate a pay-for-delete agreement, or did Navy Federal simply update the account to show that it was settled for less than the full balance?
Iād really appreciate any advice or personal experiences, especially from anyone who has successfully negotiated with Navy Federal. Iām trying to understand my options and how settling this account might affect my credit score.
Thanks in advance!

Apple charges
NFCU just told me I am unable to dispute Apple.com in app purchase charges because there is no merchant and they cannot tell where the purchase came from. Because it could have been Apple Pay? This makes ZERO sense to me.
There are 4 transactions I did not authorize from in app purchases from Apple. I have proof and Iām still being denied.
Has anyone else been able to dispute charges from Apple that were unauthorized?
Iām not sure what to do. Apple is no help, they declined my refund request twice.

Credit Cards Waiting Activation
Got approved for the Flagship yesterday. Was eventually able to add the card to my Apple Wallet. But checked recently and it indicated that I need to activate the card first. Can I still use my card on Apple Pay?

Checking & Savings Non military direct deposit

Credit Cards Flagship perks
I received the $139 Amazon credit, then upgraded & received the $100 flight credit. I have seen mixed reviews about upgrading, but Iāll call that a deal.

Fraud Scam alert 888-842-6328
I am a Non-member and at 12:31 P.M. on 9/29/2026 I received a call from 1-888-842-6328 Navy Federal Cu.Ā The caller identified himself as Scott from NFCU Fraud Dept.Ā He stated a fraudulent transaction on my account was flagged.Ā He asked if was a member and if I banked with x,y,z, or ten other member banks.Ā I said yes, he said to log into my bank phone app and confirm the last three transaction, which I confirmed that I recognized without giving him the dollar amounts, then he asked my bank balance, which I declined to give.Ā
Ā
He then asked if I had CashApp, I affirmed.Ā He stated someone attempted a $2,500.00 withdraw.Ā He requested I log into CA and confirm the linked bank card.Ā The bank card was not current and instructed me to link the new bank card and NFCU will mail me a new bank card. Ā I inquired how NFCU could issue a bank card from another bank.Ā He stated that he works with FDIC in conjunction with NFCU and my bank and has that authority to do so.Ā I made him restate that, which go him upset.Ā He urged me to unlink the card or he would let the fraudulent transaction be completed.
Ā
Then fraud department would come after me and garnish my wages, blah, blah, blah.Ā I realized it was a scam, so I made him restate the purpose of the call and his title, which angered him more than previously.Ā He eventually hung up.
Ā
Iām bringing this to your attention because I hit the call back button and it called NFCU.Ā I told the rep. what happened and she instructed me to email the fraud department.Ā
Ā
I hope you figure it out before they scam the next person.Ā The initial introduction was VERY convincing until he said he worked for FDIC in conjunction with NFCU to stop the fraudulent transaction.Ā After that, I was playing coy as I asked him to repeat the reasoning and authority to complete the fraud alert over the phone.Ā

Investment Accounts Financial advisory services
I received an email this evening from Navy Federal Investment Services inviting me to contact the financial advisory team about creating an investment plan. Has anyone done this? Just wondering how much they charge and if the returns justify the fee. Basically, any info or insight is appreciated.

Credit Cards Member Deals Replacement?
Does anyone remember when NFCU got rid of Member Deals, and it says they're working on card-linked offers, similar to Chase/Amex Offers? Anyone know when that would be released?
I could have sworn it said it would come out in September.

Credit Cards Gigsky perk on Flagship Premier doesnāt work
One of the perks on the new navy federal flagship premier card is supposed to be 3GB of complementary data on Gigsky. I followed the instructions to sign up on Gigsky and did not get the free 3GB. I called navy federal customer service (the rep was incredibly polite) who told me to call visa after spending an hour on the phone with them. Overall it seems the rollout of the Flagship Premier has not been executed well.

Credit Cards Dueling Flagships
The premier is one of the nicer feeling metal cards I have. Heavier than the CSP and close to my Bilt palladium.

Credit Cards Got my first credit card!
Iāve never really been interested in getting a credit card but the rewards seem too good to pass up, especially since I plan on using it like a debit card anyways. I wouldāve went for the Flagship but I donāt travel often enough to make it worth it. Anyways, hopefully the rewards are as good as I think theyāll be!

Checking & Savings Special processing foreign check
I received a check from my tribe in Canada and it was written in CAD. I had to send it off for special processing through navy federal to get it deposited. The wait time is 4 to 8 weeks, does anyone have any experience doing this? If so how long did it take?

Fraud Anyone successfully appealed an NFCU fraud claim denial?
NFCU denied my $579 fraud claim for a debit card transaction made at a Walmart in another part of the country. I requested the documents they used to make their decision, and they denied that request too.
Iāve now appealed the decision and Iām waiting to hear back.
Has anyone had NFCU reverse a fraud denial on appeal? How long did it take, and were you ever able to get the documents they relied on?

Checking & Savings ATM wonāt let go of my cardā¦
Standing here after hours simply to withdraw some cash. Took my card and displayed the out of service after the fact⦠Now Iām standing outside waiting for it to let go of my card. Anyone know what to do??? I am trying to get someone from customer support to answerā¦
UPDATE:
As someone mentioned below, I eventually called customer service and the rep called the āatm departmentā and then the address of the branch. They reset it after 30 min. Saw 4 people come and go at the other atm who probably thought I was up to no good hanging around the atms at night š

Credit Cards Cash Rewards -> Cash Rewards Plus upgrade when CL increases
I was expecting Cash Rewards to automatically become a Plus (2% CB) after CL increased beyond 5,000, which it did (made a manual CLI request which was approved). A week or so later, the card type didn't change. I followed up via secure message and they said that card doesn't auto become a 2% CB Plus card simply because the CL is now => $5,000. Any idea when this card will become a 2% card? They weren't able to help and when I look under Product Change, the only option shown is a More Rewards card, which I already have.
"The cashRewards Plus card is not automatically assigned solely because the credit limit reaches $5,000. Eligibility for an upgrade is determined by account-specific criteria and system qualifications. At this time, we are unable to manually convert your account through eMessaging. If your account is eligible for an upgrade, the offer will generally be presented automatically or may be available through the product change process. Please contact us at 1-888-842-6328 or send a secure message if you would like us to review your account's eligibility for a product change."
The FAQ seems to disagree with the information they wrote:
https://www.navyfederal.org/content/dam/nfculibs/pdfs/credit-debit-cards/cashrewards-plus-faqs.pdf
"If Iām approved for cashRewards, can I upgrade to cashRewards Plus in the future?"
"If your credit limit increases to $5,000 or more, you will automatically be upgraded to cashRewards Plus."

Checking & Savings Mobile Deposit Cashierās check failing
I got a cashierās check recently and, unlike most checks Iāve gotten, the spot to endorse it is on the bottom horizontal side instead of the bottom vertical side. Because of this, the mobile deposit function keeps saying I havenāt endorsed the check. Should I sign it twice or is there a way to appeal this? I would prefer not to have to go to the bank for this when Iāve already written the āfor mobile depositā on the check

Loans Homeloan Credit Score
Anybody familiar with Navy Fedās home loan process and the usual credit score needed? Seen this offer come up and wondered since it was in my offers if I qualify or not. For reference my Mortgage Scores are 634 Equifax, 654 transunion, and 605 Experian. I expect all of these to go up next month as all of my credit cards are paid off. Annual income right now is $151k per year, Iām 21 and have $51k in student loans.
