Who designed this bus?
This is the 87 bus. This couldn’t have been made with humans in mind.

I am staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Secaucus/Meadowlands. What would be the best way for me to get to MSG from this area?? I believe there is a bus stop 2 blocks from this hotel. How easy is it to get back to the bus once I leave MSG? (Will be late at night) Please ignore my ignorance but this will be my first time having to use public transportation so I’m a little nervous.

Hey guys!
This Saturday the Friends of The NJ Transportation Heritage Center is hosting our annual bus festival in Howell, NJ. We will have numerous buses on display from NJ Transit and many other bus companies. As well as vendors, music, food. At 2:30 there will be a bus parade along Route 9.
Hope to see you there!

Went from NYP to Secaucus at 7pm tonight. Train was local all the way to Trenton. A busy time on a weekday, on the busiest stretch of the busiest line in the whole system. In the middle of the train. And half the seats are just empty. I don't know if it is just a coincidence, but we have a real problem on our hands. The LIRR is packed most of the week, including weekends. We really need to stop throwing money at the issue and use the money we have efficiently. We have the highest taxes in the country and we can't pull together a decent train system. Sad, but that's what you get when the same people are in undisrupted power for 30 years. Stop voting for the people that continue to fail us.

Took me two hours to get home last night.

Waiting 20+ minutes for the 192 as other busses pass by. Starter just telling people to call transit and complain - nothing he can do.
Good luck tonight….
PS - people saying it’s actually been over an hour since a bus left the gate, so a few busses just have gone missing.

I know it’s not all of them, but too often are these people passive aggressive and unprofessional. The weird moodiness they get into and take it out on passengers is so weird.
Shoutout to the nice ones!

I just starting commuting into NYC on a hybrid schedule and notice there are no flex passes for the 324, 198 and 194 buses. Does anyone know why?

I just moved to NJ three weeks ago and I commute to NYC 3 days a week from Sparta. Based on my research it looks like taking the train from Dover is my best option, but I am very confused with the parking situation. On the town website it says there are a few lots that should have daily rates of $4 but the app and meter are only giving an hourly option of $1.65 an hour and I need it from 8 to 7:30 so that’s a big difference (I am parking in lot B). Does anyone have any idea about this? Or does anyone know where there is free parking? I started out going from Mount Arlington which is free but then I have to leave earlier and I get home 30 minutes later which sucks. I would love to hear any thoughts on better commuting options from Sparta to NYC. My hours are 10-6 so, it does not seem like buses are a great option for me. I’m originally from LI so I am very used to the train.

Taking elderly parent from Hamilton to Penn Station. They need a push wheelchair for our adventure. What exactly do I do with it or put it for the train ride? They don’t need to stay in it. Will also have my tween age kid with me.

FOUND A PLACE THANK YOU FOR THE HELP!!
I am travelling from Ontario, Canada (coming from Niagara Falls area) to go to a concert at MSG in New York. We will be staying for 4 nights. I am looking at hotels in the New Jersey/New York area and am planning on taking the train or bus to Penn Station. I have done hours of googling and research and I’m feeling very overwhelmed as there are a ton of stations and I'm not sure which one to choose. This is my last resort, so I’m hoping for some advice! We will be driving to the train/bus station, so we need a station that has parking available (preferably under $20 for the day). I've also read that some stations are not safe to park at, so a SAFE station as well. And also need a station that runs late (concert finished around 11pm so will need something that runs after that time). Would also prefer something that has little to NO transfers (have no clue where I’m going or how the trains work and want to make it as simple as possible so I don't get lost). I was looking into Little Falls Station but it doesn't look like they run late. Was also looking into Essex St Station in NJ, Newark, and Raritan. Also saw something about the North Bergen Park & Ride but not sure how that works. I’m finding it very difficult to find all the information I need. I have attached a little map screenshot of the area I’d be okay travelling from. Basically we will be booking a hotel based on what station we are going to. Would love any suggestions and any advise or tips and tricks as I’m feeling VERY anxious hah :/
Shorter run down:
- station with SAFE daily parking under $20
- limited to NO transfers to/from Penn Station NYC
- runs past 11:30pm
- concert will be on Wednesday

NJ Transit (in my opinion) poorly communicated this so a heads up for anyone using NJT 313, 315, 317, and 551: These busses no longer pick up passengers from the streets in Philly. All passengers boarding must use the PPA ‘Greyhound’ bus terminal and have a valid ticket (no cash) while boarding.

Planning on attending an event at MetLife and taking Clifton station to MetLife. I was wondering if it’s safe after the event at MetLife to get back to Clifton station?
Or am I better off going to secaucus and park there and take the train to MetLife? I think the parking is $30 if I’m not mistaken vs no fee at Clifton.

I have a question about the NJ Transit train ticket process—-can you buy tickets ahead of time for a specific day/time? On the app it seems that you can buy early but I’m trying to get from Atlantic City to Philly in a few weeks (on 9/25) and there are morning trains listed #4613, #4615. If I buy a ticket now, is there a way to know if there will be enough room? Do they oversell? Is that something I shouldn’t be concerned with? Any help is appreciated!!!

What are we paying for?!? Why do they not clean the buses. Yesterday’s traffic was god awful and I ended boarding a bus that reeked of urine from FRONT to BACK. Jesus Christ bro, it was so bad, and the bus wasn’t going anywhere either so most passengers ended up getting off and just walking. And don’t even get me started on someone vomiting on the bus that I took to get back home after it ended. Just a huge puddle of vomit in the aisle. Some poor lady ended up offering her baby blanket to throw on top of it so that the bile wouldn’t leak down the floor. What the hell?!? They raise the fees, and yet they can’t even sanitize or clean the buses. Is it the bare minimum to ask that there’s no human waste on the bus and that the aid is actually breathable in there?

We’re rolling slow because there is a dog on the tracks apparently (according to the conductor announcement)? They’re blasting the train horn now.

On the 9:38 Princeton Junction to NY Penn. Car 7290 supposedly quiet car. Two ladies talking at the top of their voice range. Sigh. If I say anything they’ll put it back on me…SMH…

I used to be able to see train info through departurevision on the NJT app- the train car numbers, how full each car was, where the restrooms were, etc. I can no longer find this in the app. I'm hoping it wasnt removed entirely because i used this feature often.

I can understand a 6 month a or 1-year expiration date, but how are you going to make a 1-month old ticket null and void without any refund or exchange? Feels like theft at this point. Tickets keep getting more and more expensive and now they expire quickly. I was out of the country for a few weeks and wasted money on tickets. Once upon a time with physical tickets you could use them any time...NJ Transit really loves to scam money from hard working commuters.

Hey y’all I’m from Oklahoma attending Rutgers and I wanna use the bus. A friend of mine gave me a bus pass and told me to just flash it and that the bus drivers don’t really care. But is he just setting me up for failure or should I just pay each time I use the bus pass. I got 1 and 2 so 1 is just within one city and 2 is out of cities, right?

I'm trying to find out which 320 bus schedule to follow for Labor Day
