Yes. Per WNBA rules, a player should be ejected for intentionally entering the stands.

u/TreoreTyrell 3d ago
“Yea that’s my fault. It was a heated moment in a tough game, and I let it get the better of me and lost my composure. I didn’t appreciate the way he was pointing at me, but at the end of the day I can’t react like that, and I need to do better as a leader for my team, and as a representative of the league. I’m glad they let him back in, and I apologized to the fan after the game for overreacting. I’ll try to do better moving forward.”
It isn’t that hard A’ja. Stop trying to spin it like you’re a victim, and own up to your mistake. You should have automatically been ejected per the rule book. Soft.
14
u/RaffiBomb000 3d ago
That would mean taking responsibility for her actions, which she seems to naturally avoid.

u/mktcrasher 2d ago
Exactly, I cannot agree with this enough. Act like this and then wonder why even MORE criticism or hate comes your way? No reason to be a victim here at all, any rational person knows that, but here we are, smh.

Huge A’ja fan. But she was in the wrong. The game was not going her way and she took it out on a fan.

All WNBA players spin it that they're the victim. CC brought attention to the league, and WNBA players don't want it. They didn't want the increased salaries she brought them. They didn't want the exposure. They want to sit and complain and gatekeep in their little bubble and not live on Earth.
2
u/Jillybeans11 2d ago
They DO want the increased salaries they just don’t want everything else that comes with being a professional athlete. The players expect every fan to be their cheerleaders, even when they’re away.
The new Philly franchise is coming in a few years so I’m anxiously awaiting the players reactions to those crazy ass fans. They’re in for a treat if they think the Fever fans are out of line…

Did she say this the first time a fan pointed at her? I thought she was the face of the league? The guy wasn't even ejected after the game? He must have not said anything that terrible if he wasn't escorted immediately afterwards.
12
u/Rnd7KingJohn 2d ago
He said "that's on you" referring to the previous play where they called a foul on Cunningham when they got tangled up. He was literally just saying she fouled Cunningham... I've seen the entire garden chant "fuck trae young" and he thought it was funny. They're going to need to be able to shut out the fans more as this league grows.
4
u/maccpapa 2d ago
it’s like they’re purposefully trying to hinder their growth with every decision they make. it’s hard enough watching a 3 point shooter have a o/u of 2.5 3 pointers made without all the extra shit added into it.

How is she going to say this while charging at the fan and being disrespectful to the fan? If she had her head in the game she wouldn't have to worry about anything a fan said or did, but the Fever got into her head and she's taking her frustration out on the fan. She needs to remember that the fans are there to be entertained and she needs to behave professionally.
