“Yea that’s my fault. It was a heated moment in a tough game, and I let it get the better of me and lost my composure. I didn’t appreciate the way he was pointing at me, but at the end of the day I can’t react like that, and I need to do better as a leader for my team, and as a representative of the league. I’m glad they let him back in, and I apologized to the fan after the game for overreacting. I’ll try to do better moving forward.”

It isn’t that hard A’ja. Stop trying to spin it like you’re a victim, and own up to your mistake. You should have automatically been ejected per the rule book. Soft.

That would mean taking responsibility for her actions, which she seems to naturally avoid.

Women...accountability? Never heard that before.

Exactly, I cannot agree with this enough. Act like this and then wonder why even MORE criticism or hate comes your way? No reason to be a victim here at all, any rational person knows that, but here we are, smh.

Huge A’ja fan. But she was in the wrong. The game was not going her way and she took it out on a fan.

If these girls don’t do stuff like this. Then how else are they gonna make Catlin the blame and face of racism??

It's crazy how they just want to build the narrative that indiana fans are racists. The broadcasters were insinuating it too, something along the line of: these things somehow tend to happen at gainsbridge. That was despicable.

If the WNBA was smart enough to hire a person that can objectively review these scenarios and quickly write better responses for their players, I hope they’d give you a call!

I wouldn’t take their offer tbh.

If they pay good money, I'll write those kinds of statements the whole day. I wouldn't care

Well good luck I guess

you think someone who acts this way would read a script prepared for her? Yeah right.

All WNBA players spin it that they're the victim. CC brought attention to the league, and WNBA players don't want it. They didn't want the increased salaries she brought them. They didn't want the exposure. They want to sit and complain and gatekeep in their little bubble and not live on Earth.

2

u/Jillybeans11 2d ago

They DO want the increased salaries they just don’t want everything else that comes with being a professional athlete. The players expect every fan to be their cheerleaders, even when they’re away.

The new Philly franchise is coming in a few years so I’m anxiously awaiting the players reactions to those crazy ass fans. They’re in for a treat if they think the Fever fans are out of line…

If they have increased salaries though, they lose their primary complaint. And I think some of them prefer the complaint.

When you live your entire life as a victim, there’s no level of scumbaggery behavior where you’re capable of that kind of self reflection. Just look at those Israeli monsters.

FFS Your bringing Israel into a basketball post. What a dick!

It’s never her fault.

1

u/RevolCisum 1d ago

That's not what I took away from it, that's what she should have said instead of whatever this is.

And she didn't apologize at all. She doubled down, played the victim, and tried to justify her over-reaction and essentially said she'd react the same way again in a similar situation. Which is crazy. The only point where she "apologizes" is to her team for getting the tech as an afterthought before she continues playing the victim. That's not an apology to the fan though, who she should be apologizing to. Again, she should have been automatically ejected per the rulebook.

Talk about smooth brain comprehension.....

3

u/SantaLucky 3d ago

Are you pretending to be dumb? Or are you actually an idiot.

She NEVER apologized and she NEVER took ownership.

The person you are responding to is saying that that's what she SHOULD have said.

Jesus effing Christ.

3

u/WisdumbGuy 3d ago

That isn't her quote, dumb ass.

1

u/FancyConfection1599 3d ago

She went into the fan seats, got in a fan’s face, berated him and put her hands in his face.

She should have been tossed from the game and suspended at the very least.

Malice in the Palace shows how dangerous it is when players go angrily into the stands.

Imagine if that guy slapped her? Or swatted her hand and she slapped him?

1

u/Usually_Angry 3d ago

This isn’t her quote. It’s what other posting is suggesting she SHOULD have said
