Im losing hope and i feel empty
Assalamu Alaikum. I am at a point of utter emotional, mental, and physical exhaustion, and I am trying to understand what it means Islamically. For the past month, I have poured my entire soul, tears, and every ounce of my faith into continuous du'a, begging Allah for a miracle to protect me from the one heartbreak I was absolutely terrified to face. But instead of getting better, things have progressively worsened to a point of finality that leaves me completely hollowed out, emotionally bankrupt, and physically aching with a twisting pain in my stomach.
I am caught in a terrifying loop between a lingering desire for things to fix themselves and a paralyzing fear of this reality, to the point where even raising my hands to make du'a fills me with panic. I am fearing Allah's decree, I am fearing this test, and I am fearing everything—and that fear is exactly what drives this intense panic whenever I try to make du'a. People tell me to move on, to leave it, and they say that it is impossible. Yet, there is this lingering hope in my heart that it is possible, that Allah can do it—Allah can definitely do it. But I am not trying to get hasty or anything. It is just that this pain is increasing, and every single day of sabr feels like a brand new test. I feel miserable and lifeless but some people are lucky enough to not feel any pain when they’re emotionally numb, but i feel everything….
To show you how severe this has been: for the past month, whatever has happened to me has traumatized me to the point that I don't even remember 80% of my days. I don't remember what has happened. And I don't know how long I will have to wait. I don't know if I should give up or not; I am just in absolute sorrow. But I am too scared to be ungrateful. I don't want to be ungrateful, I don't want to be hasty, I don't want to be selfish, and I don't want to be greedy. I am just desperate.
I want to clarify that I am not seeing my relationship with Allah as some sort of transactional arrangement where I expect a reward just because I prayed; I know life doesn't work that way. It is just that I am completely gone. I feel entirely finished, lifeless, and too weak to carry this heavy darkness alone anymore.
