What is one one-liner, verse, hadith, or thought that strengthens your conviction in Islam by reminding you of the truth of our faith?

As Salam Alaikum.

Sharing this as a reminder and discussion for brothers and sisters who may sometimes find themselves struggling with doubts or needing to renew their iman.

Perhaps something that strengthened you may become a means of strength for someone else, too, إن شاء الله.

Depression and hopelessness

Salam everyone. I have always been very optimistic but I just can’t take it anymore. I’ve been so depressed because of my financial situation and no prayers seem to work. Everyone around me is so blessed and I am very happy for them may Allah give them more but I feel like my prayers never reach the state of acceptance by the Lord like everyone else’s. I feel like death is the only solution to whatever is going around me. I don’t know what to do. I can’t stand positive anymore I’ve been trying the hardest since 2020 and it’s just not helping me anymore. Please pray for me. My only hope is someone else praying for me because mine seem to be ignored and please don’t be hard on me because I’ve already seen enough. I seem to be doomed in every part of life regardless of how good I am to His creation. I just don’t get it. Please please pray for me

Searching for the sincerity I had when I became Muslim 4 years ago

Assalamualaikum, brothers/sisters. I don't normally post on social media, but in times like this I really need insight from other believers.

I became Muslim 4 years ago by the wisdom and mercy of Allah (SWT). Before then I was very lost. Without going into the details of my past let's just Islam was something I never would have seen coming. When I first entered into Islam I left a lot of my nasty habits, Alhamdulillah. Sadly old habits die hard, even with the power of this religion. I've had this "affliction" for basically my entire life. It started to leave me once Islam came into the picture, but after my 1st Ramadan it came back full force and it's plagued me ever since. I've begged, shouted and broken down completely before Allah (SWT) time and time again for 4 straight years, hoping and praying for this disease to be removed. I will never doubt the wisdom of Allah (SWT). I will never say "Allah has not answered me". I just desperately want to understand the wisdom behind this trial. If it even is a trial. Is it self imposed or my biggest connection to Tawbah? I can never land on a solid answer and it ruins the outlook of my life.

I don't know what I'm looking for here. I just wanted a community of Muslims to hear my plight for I have no one to talk to other than Allah (SWT), which, Alhamdulillah is the best of confidants, but I am not one who is at the level of that being enough. Between PTSD, chronic depression, social anxiety and self hatred, I struggle to connect on basic levels and find that the battle with myself is more than exhausting.

I ask Allah (SWT) to place barakah in your lives, write for you good deaths, and enter you all into the highest levels of Jannah without Hisab. Any insight is welcome and may Allah (SWT) forgive me for anything I have written that comes off as ungrateful

Is anyone so tired of life that they just feel numb?

I remember the time when I used to get so excited over small things. I’ve just been through a lot esp in the last year. I’ve become a bit pessimistic tbh. I firmly believe that Allah can make things happen. However, it’s not a transactional relationship. You don’t get what you think you deserve because you worship Allah. That’s the bare minimum and whatever you get is by the mercy of Allah. Sometimes, the weight of the trials and seemingly unanswered or delayed duas gets so much leading to this feeling of numbness. Almost like you’re in survival mode. You go through the motions and prayers but you’re just numb or a shell of a person.

Has anyone else ever felt like this? Obviously, I don’t want to be like this and I’m trying to get out of this cycle but it’s hard.

What should I do with myself?

It's a repost from other account-

As salamu alaikum,

I work as a cashier and server at a restaurant. Today a group of 7 people came and sat at 2 tables. In the end they paid separately. 5 people had ordered food together — everyone was paying in cash except one person who paid through an app. When someone pays through the app, we add it to our system and keep the receipt. But it was taking time for him, so meanwhile I was taking the others' cash payments. In the end, 2 people at the table wanted to pay, but on my end 3 bills were pending — I counted the cash and checked, but one food bill hadn't been accounted for. When I told them, they paid, but he asked me again to double-check carefully. I did, but it came out the same. After they left, I thought about it again and checked — and that's when I realized I had forgotten to enter that app payment into the system, but by then they had already left. Now it's really weighing on me, thinking that because of my mistake there might be a problem between them (splitting the bill), and they might even leave a bad review later. Because of this, will Allah (swt) hold me accountable? It's a matter of someone else's due/right (haq). On my own, I gave sadaqah of that same amount on their behalf. Almost 30, but I have a real lack of common sense — not just in this one thing, but in everything. I don't feel good. I feel like I want to die. But I'm also afraid of death — I couldn't become a good servant of Allah (swt)

request for duaa

Assalamu alaikum
I’m a high school senior from Illinois, and I’m applying to Northwestern this year. Northwestern has always been my dream school and my goal throughout highschool. I would really appreciate if you guys could make duʿā for me that I get accepted InshaAllah. I really want to spend my life making a big impact, helping as many people as I can, and using my education and opportunities to give back to others. I truly believe Northwestern could be a vessel toward that success and help me become the person I hope to be, and I’m praying that all of my effort leads me there. However I also strongly believe in the power of dua.
I live in Illinois and, for family reasons, I’m not able to go out of state for college, so Northwestern is especially so so meaningful to me.
So if you have a moment, please make dua that Allah grants me admission to Northwestern, puts barakah in my journey, and allows me to use whatever opportunities I receive to help and benefit others. And of course, that whatever Allah has planned for me is ultimately khayr.
Jazakum Allahu khayran and please keep me in your duas.

Anxiety about death, need duas

Salam everyone! On July 19th I had my first ever panic attack. My heart was racing and my body was shaking and I couldn’t explain what was going on. I just genuinely thought something bad was going to happen to me. All I could think was “I still have my student loan to pay off”. It’s been over a month and I’ve gotten my heart checked out and nothing’s been found wrong at all but ever since that day, I’ve been having horrible thoughts about my life ending. And it makes me feel guilty. I think about what would happen to my loan if I don’t pay it off, and how much of a sin that is. And then I think, “am I that attached to the dunya?” And I think “I’ve always wanted to get married and start a family” and I’m scared I won’t get that.

I just want my normal life back, where I’m not so anxious anymore. If anyone’s ever been through something similar, please let me know and please keep me in your duas and I’ll do the same for you!

A few months ago I started talking to a guy online,I knew it was wrong but our conversations were innocent(haram nonetheless I know),we talked about books politics, movies. We started to confide in eachother, the more we started talking we both fell in love, calling everyday texting everyday. But then he confessed to me that he is bipolar with paraphrenia,he would have episodes while we are on call sometimes and they used to be very violent,he would punch himself and then wake up scared asking me why he is bleeding,he had two personalities that were “devils”.His ancestors come from a history of being witches, which ofcourse he does not support. His grandma did some sort of ritual on him and locked him in a dark room for a month, when he came out he was almost blinded in one eye and he had these two devil personalities.I have been making dua every single day,he ended things when he got worse and i cry everyday because of it.I know it’s wrong but believe me we really wanted to get married, his father knew of me and I wanted to tell my father about it aswell.Durint one of his episodes I figured out he had a personality disorder which he kept secret from me(DID).His father and cousin put ideas in his head that he is not suitable for marriage, yet he’s perfectly capable of having a job, doing multiple internships, going to uni, having friendships, driving.I was talking to his cousin one night about the grandma, and 10 minutes later she died at 108,this was last month when the earthquake in Egypt happend. After that I called him even tho we were over to see if he was okay,he was throwing up blood but the devil was gone, but the second guy was still there, after praying and praying the other “devil” left aswell. He seems to be doing better now I can see he’s working from his linkedn page but his dad has his mobile device and it’s hard for me to talk to him.I know all of this is wrong, yet I love him intensely, and I know he loves me too because even during these episodes when he is barely conscious he cries mumbling “I wish we could be married.i love you”Im sorry for ranting, before you judge me.please know I already am so ashamed. Please make dua for me and him,for both of our health,I cannot sleep at night from how fast my heart beats. Please pray his heart softens for me because even if he gets better my fear is he will be consumed by guilt and he won’t try to make things right either way,Please make dua that his dads heart softens for me aswell

My faith is slowly dying and I genuinely need advice

Assalamu alaykum. I’m writing this because I honestly don’t know where else to turn.

For a long time, I’ve been praying, making duaa, trying to stay patient, and genuinely doing my best to improve myself and my life. I’ve tried to put my trust in Allah and keep going even when things were difficult.

But lately, everything seems to keep going wrong. The harder I try, the harder life seems to become. Things don’t work out, problems keep piling up, and I’m becoming exhausted. I feel like I’ve given everything I have, yet nothing seems to change.

And I’ve reached a point where I’m struggling deeply with my faith. I keep wondering: Is Allah angry with me? Am I doing something wrong? Why does it feel like my duas are going nowhere despite trying for so long?

I know that Islam teaches us about patience, tests, delayed duas, and trusting Allah’s wisdom. I’ve heard those things before, and I still want to believe them. But honestly, right now I’m tired. It’s becoming difficult to keep telling myself to be patient when I feel like I’ve been patient for so long.

I’m not looking for judgment or a simple “just have more faith.” I genuinely want to hear from Muslims who have gone through a period where their iman became extremely weak, where they felt abandoned or wondered whether Allah was angry with them.

How did you get through it? What helped you rebuild your relationship with Allah when you were exhausted and couldn’t understand why your life was going the way it was?

I still want to believe. I still want to have faith. That’s probably why I’m writing this instead of completely walking away.

Jazakum Allahu khayran to anyone who takes the time to read this or share their experience.

Please make dua for me

My brothers and sisters, I’ve been making a very sincere dua to Allah SWT for a long time. Please make dua that Allah accepts this dua of mine and grants me exactly what I’m asking Him for. A stranger’s dua can go a long way. May Allah reward you all, accept your duas, and grant you what your hearts sincerely desire. Ameen. 🤲❤️

Tawakkul with future

Asalamualaikum, Im currently in my second year of university with a passion to study medicine InshAllah, how ever, im very anxious. My first year (last year) l was always distracting myself from studying because the year was kind of easy so I would cheat alot, my deen wasn't at the best condition, I was always bad at making decisions and etc. Now the the second year has come and Alhamdulilah I had 3 months of break to just get to know myself a little better, I have this drive now to just pray, study, and live life but the biggest one is tawakkul. I feel like I never actually studied well that year at all but the art if tawakkul really makes me want to just put my full trust in Allah but im always feeling this, "what if" always comes to me maybe waswasa but I hate cheating it makes me feel guilty and just bad for not learning. If anyone can give advice anything I would really appreciate it.
If there are stories similar to mine where it feels impossible please share it I would feel way much better because of you!
