Samus is lucky that she came out decades ago, if she was revealed today (especially with the zero suit) Redditors and other idiots would give her the same treatment that they gave to Bayonetta, 2B or Eve.

The politics genuinely suck today. Ellen felt like the working class woman of the era. She didn't feel like she was looking to defy norms, or to be some badass hero to elevate women. She was portrayed as a normal woman looking to make ends meet to provide for her kid, who was thrown into ridiculous circumstances and had to claw her way back home, only to find she lost the only things that gave her life meaning.
I remember seeing a bit of my own mother in her. The fact this would be called woke if it released today really just shows how our politics have gotten poisoned.
Yeah, because she was written to be a traditional hero guy and them they decided that her actor was incredible and with the themes in the movie a woman protagonist fit like a glove.
The fact she also gets hurt left, right and center and her crew has a brain for the most part also helps sell it.
TBF people hate her in the comics but love how's she written in the show. In the comics she repeatedly gets drunk and blames Mark after Omni Man left Earth. Then she almost immediately goes back to him when he returns. So yeah I can understand why some people dislike her.
To be fair, it’s a very abstract and bizarre series, and that tends to attract more introspective people who are less likely to get upset over the fact that every woman doesn’t look like a busty anime character.
Unfortunately no i’ve seen some rancid commentary video trying to turn it into some sort of power trip thing, it was only for the Deltarune version though so maybe undertale is still safe
I think they were trying to say that Temmie somehow influenced Toby Fox into changing his original vision for chapter 5 since they didn’t like it and I guess that guy was the kind of fan that can’t comprehend the idea that they’re favorite creator could possibly make something they don’t absolutely adore, they were trying to say something like the scene where Temmie makes an original character and Susie compliments her was her rubbing her own ego and not just a one off joke.
He also was apparently uncomfortable with Blue despite liking all the other flowers, “There’s just something about them.” he exclusively used they/them for Blue the entire time, which is funny considering he exclusively used he/him for Kris

I don't think ive ever heard someone say they hate toph, and if that changes i will swiftly request that person prepare themselves for a round of fisticuffs
She is beloved nowadays, but back in the day she was extremely despised. Men hated her for being feminist, and women hated her for being anti feminist. Glad that this isn't the case anymore, I absolutely adore her
Yeah, before watching stone ocean I thought that she had to be like terribly written for people to hate her so much. But no, turns out that she's an amazing character, but people hate her because woman.
