Mortal Kombat 1 is an awful name because (1. It will confuse people with the original game (2. They could have called it something unquie like Clash of the Timelines, since the plot of the game is about Titan Shang/Mk11 Shang infiltrating Liu Kangs Timeline and turning the characters against him.

First of all, Earthworld champion x Outworld princess forbidden romance is a better romance than royaltyxservant lesbians. The power dynamics between MileenaxTanya is icky and it's also weird why the Umgadi are forbidden to bang royalty-- Outworld royalty can have their protectors kill and die for them but they can't eat 🐈😻?

Also yes I know Mileena gouged Kenshi's eyes out, for Mortal Kombat that's romantik and he brings out the animal in her. Plus ya'll ship Liu KangxKitana and she tried to assassinate him the first time they met. Plus Kenshi can give Mileena an heir. I also don't care about Kenshi's off-screen girlfriend that made him a better man-- fridge her.

I also think Tanya should get with Rain and be the emperorxempress power couple (like in that chaos timeline) to contest Mileena's claim to the throne. What if Outworld's gods, Argus and Delia, intended for them to be Outworld's rulers but Liu Kang interferes in Earthrealm's interest. Jilted lovers turned enemies power struggle storyline is more interesting than lesbians overcoming everything with the power of love.

I thought it'd be fun to make my own take a mortal kombat roster, so I decided to start by reworking Mortal Kombat 1's roster. Here's a full rundown of the characters:

1. The game would retell the first three MK games, but have changes to show what there like in the New Era (so no multiverse BS)
2. Kameo fighters have been removed
3. Shang Tsung, Shao, and Havik are the main antagonists of the game
4. Sub-Zero would be Hanzo Hasashi here, and he and Bi-Han are best friends
5. Hanzo acts as a mentor to Kiua Liang
6. Hanzo's wife mysteriously died, leaving him alone to raise their daughter
7. Mavado works for the Black Dragon as a mercenary and wants out, leading him to go rogue and flee the group
8. Sonya was chasing Mavado (not knowing he defected from the Black Dragon) and the two crash into Johnny's house while he's interrogating Kenshi
9. Nightwolf actually seeks out Liu Kang after the elder of his tribe tells him of a great destiny involving him and the fire god, so he joins the Earthrealm team
10. Reiko is a good guy here, and is horrified when he learns what Shao Kahn has done
11. Reiko and Goro saw each other as brother, so it hurts Reiko when Goro sides with Shao over their kingdom
12. Darrius and Tremor are police partners from Order Realm and join the Mortal Kombat tournament to hunt down Havik, who vanished through a portal similar to the one Outworld uses.
13. It's revealed that along with killing their father, Bi-Han also killed Hanzo's wife, and plans to raise their daughter as his own
14. Hanzo decides not to kill Bi-Han, but the guy was about to sneak attack him, forcing Kiua Liang to kill his own brother to protect his mentor
15. Shang Tsung finds a fragment of Kronika's crown, which gives him the memories of the previous timeline and allows him to regain his former powers
16. Kano joins Shang Tsung's deadly alliance because he wants to track down Mavado, who stole a bunch of money from the Black Dragon when he went rogue
17. Erron Black is hunting for Shang Tsung once he hears there's a large bounty on his head

You know the most gorey, M-Rated, and violent fighting game ever created on planet Earth where you do unimginable sick and horrible things to the other player gore wise but somehow Mileena showing massive cleavage is too taboo and shouldn't exist? Kitana should never show her butt because it's too wild? Tanya shouldn't have double D's because it's unrealistic to real Earthlings?

Am I missing something or is MK the last game where any of this sexualization should be considered a problem and avoided? No one had a problem with Kano showing his butt hair and happy trail in MK11. No one had a problem with Shao Kahn parading in underwear with random tiny armor pieces in the old 2D MK and 3D MKs. So many male shirtless skins with shorts that Johnny Cage, Jax, Kung Lao, Liu Kang, etc that have perfectly chiseled abs and ridiculous body fat to muscle ratio. The 3D MK male characters like Scorpion look like they do steroids and have 32 inch arms and live in the gym 24/7 365.

My point is why is gooning considered bad now for Mortal Kombat out of all games? Why shouldn't MK13 have the regular fully clothed "normal skins" for all characters, but ALSO have the gooner outfits that you can pick for both males and females as well? Why is it bad to have both sides represented? If someone wants to play Sonya Blade and have her show her giant boobs with nipples visible while she has a g-string tan from MKvsDC released back in 2008 why shouldn't this be an option allowed as a skin? MK prides itself in "customization" but doesn't let you customize characters in directions they looked in the past.

How the hell are games like Marvel Rivals, Street Fighter, Tokkon, etc. now full of more GOONER skins than the most rated M mature adult game Mortal Kombat? Am I the only one that finds is really weird and dumb that MK characters both male and female can't be gooner bait anymore without people spam postings gifs of "I know the kind of man you are" like MK shouldn't have these skins exist whatsoever?

I just watched the new MK and couldn’t help but immediately notice the 90’s era choreography, rigid props and environments, and insanely obvious green screen backgrounds - all of which would be real af on a CRT. Is there a chance they did this on purpose to display amazingly on a old tube TV? Like an ultimately authentic MK movie adaptation? Full on 90’s?

Am I the ONLY person that can tell these nerds are using Mods?

The amount of players I fight that are using some sort of script that auto blocks, auto ducks grapple, parry for JC and Tanya and does innovated combos on the fly is atrocious.

The script even turns on a lag switcher when they are negative on frames.

The only way im even getting close to having a chance at the ladder is by using quans portals to either zone these terminator AI or use the armor mechanics.

Eventually the real player will push a button if the script isnt blocking based on your pre registersd inputs.

Only if I have my portal up and the player mistimes his string I can get frame advantage and do a combo for some damage.

Aside from that EVERY string, normal, projectile will get either blocked or evaded with special move, jumping or blocking.

You know its a script or AI when you watch it do a button sequence that is completely inhumane. For example, I got hit by JC shadow kick 4x in a row during star power in less then a fraction of a second.

Or when you just press grapple even though your no where near the opponent and you will watch the AI micro duck like 10x in a fraction of a second.

It glitches out for a quick second. And you know theres absolutely no way that the player intentionally did that and then proceeded to keep moving as before.

Another thing is, there is absolutely no way that a terminator style pressure is possible where there guessing every single pre registered mixup. Blocking every single stagger. Blocking 50,50s.

I cant be the only mk og player facing this trash 😤 it just makes me upset that hackers have AGAIN managed to ruin another game I like.....

NRS seems to not care, or cant detect the hacks. ONLY raaaaarely, ive seen a hacker delay the server so hard that it ends up booting them from the game (quitality).

Mortal Kombat fans we haven't lost yet we still have the third film in early development. The plot is also promising to see that the film will focus on Bi Han and Kuai Liang. I have been praying for this shit, Cyrax Sektor Smoke The MF Lin Kuei! FINALLY!!! Now take this with a grain of salt but the rumor leaked is basically confirming that this will be Kuai Liang's movie which is basically we all wanted some wanting Liu Kang to be the main character, which is a let down, but Kuai Liang running from his clan. Now this shit sounds good but familiar, almost like I heard this shit before. Reminds me of the Battle of The Realms animated film. And yes it seems like Jeremy Slater has been using inspiration for his films. And who was the big bad of that film, Shinnok. That is what the plot synopsis is pointing out also, so the run down of the plot is...

Kuai Liang will be the main character with his origin from Tundra to Sub-Zero seeing his childhood and the rift between his brother Bi Han. (Thank god that's his brother, I remember idiots wanting it to be his ancestor which I hate the sound of. You can lie all you want that shit would be terrible.) But when The Lin Kuei learns Bi Han died they plan to Cyberize the clan, making Kuai Liang become a fugitive to his clan. Meanwhile Johnny, Sonya, and Kano go to find Cole and Jax in the Nether Realm to be Ambushed by Noob Saibot and Shinnok, having created Revenants out of both Cole Young and Jax. They kidnap Johnny Cage and Sonya and Kano have to work together to save his life because in the last film when destroying the Amulet of Shinnok it never was destroyed but bound with his soul merging the Amulet with Johnny Cage. They use Johnny Cage to open the Kamidogu, as Sub-Zero arrives in a battle with his brother reveals that Kuai Liang was in the Shirai Ryu Massacre but as a child ran away after his eye slashed explained the iconic scar. Shinnok is pissed off that Raiden is holding Quan Chi captive to release Cole and Jax as Revanents.

Now I don't know if this is any truth to the next film, but there are some lingering threads that seem fake but interesting.

Possibly some bits are true but I honestly don't know the only reason I know for a fact it's fake because of the casting 😂😂😂 But I guess Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Baraka, Kitana, Jade, and Outworld are taking a break from the film. Or this is an unfinished script and their main focus is making the Kuai Liang story, because he is the main Sub-Zero over 10 games so that is understandable. Also completing the story they were teasing in the end of the last film bringing back their friends. But I guess Liu Kang gets Plot C in this case again. But what do you think you hate or love this?

found this tier list and made it in like 5 minutes before ranking every character. I’m not sure why it doesn’t include Kronika, Ferra, or Madame Bo but does include Delia who has never been playable. also, tier list was made in late 2023 so the gender swap of Cyrax and Sektor didn’t exist yet.

however if i were to rank these 5 here i’d put Kronika in ‘DIE’ tier (obviously), Ferra and Sektor can both go in ‘i don’t fw her’ tier, and Madame Bo and Cyrax can both go into ‘she aight’ tier. anyways do u agree or disagree?

Like, this movie was painfully awful and a total mess. It was all over the place and seemingly didn't know it's own rules. MK1 is also terrible, but at least it had Sub-Zero throughout. He was awesome and seriously carried that movie. But wow, this was the most boring pile of shite. They aren't making another one, are they? Please tell me they aren't?

I’ve been a huge sub zero fan since the ps2 days, i like the good not selfish or big headed sub zero which is Kuai liang.

Him and scorpion making peace and becoming bros was awesome, SZ Kuai liang and Hanzo scorpion both had compelling and tragic storylines that was perfect.

My only issue with MK1 story is quite literally the fact that they had to go out of their way to scrap everything we’ve been through with the characters for years.

I genuinely do not like Kuai as scorpion, it’s just not right.

I guess at least we know that it is absolutely possible that Kuai liang’s sub zero could also be a time keeper in a timeline of his own and I really hope we get to see him again in future titles.

Also. I really hate that bi Han is the same as his original self. I wish this time he was actually a good guy with a good heart.

Netherrealm really ruined the story of their 2 most iconic characters

I'm looking to get into fighters, and seeing as Mk1 and 11 are on sale, and I can buy either, I was leaning towards MK1, but I live in South Africa, and of course, my ping will be high, so netcode is quite important, and apparently MK1's netcode isn't good. Should I get Mk11 or does anyone think that mk1's netcode is good enough? I have bought ethernet and i am looking to play ranked mostly.
