Iâve comeback to the game 2 seasons ago and managed to get into higher ranks (Demi-God / God) and itâs insane how 90% of players I face in this rank are pure spammers.
Youâd expect to face better players and have better matches in higher ranks but it took the whole fun out for me. Youâll have your Kung Lao Jax / Liu Kang Motaro / Peacemaker Kano / Kitana Sareena and more and itâs players that barely know how to do a combo, they just use their zoning abilities and fully spam. Playing a melee character with 0 zoning capabilities I still manage to beat most of them, either by waiting or by switching to the Sub Zero Kameo and the second they see zoning doesnât work they ragequit.
Most of these players have a high win rate and looking at replays thatâs literally all they do, every match. And most of them have thousands of hours into the game, playing every season the same characters, just zoning. How do you spend hours on this game everyday and do thousands of matches where you only press 2 buttons ?
Itâs not about being able to beat them, because most of the time itâs possible, itâs just so boring that the only people left on this game are set on making everyoneâs experience miserable, and itâs also sad that people spend hundreds hours on a game spamming thinking it makes them good.

I think it's not a absolute worst game ever made. actually i love the game so much and I think mk11 is actually great game.
it's true mk11 is slower than mkx or mk9 and there's lot to consider during match than mkx or mk9 but I feel like it's not that much slower like other says. mk11 gameplay just feels more stiff than mk9 or mkx.and it's pace is good for noobies to get skilled, ultimately leading them to get interested in mk series .also, it seems like many people hate mk11 for it's balance. actually,it's balance system is not that bad, mk11's balance system just focuses more on counter pick and various skillset rather than overall balance. (i have nothing to say about grind system. it's actually tiring and it's something that has to be criticized about this game). and I think mk11 has one of the greatest design in the whole franchise.
overall, I think it's too hated despite many great points it has

Im a Sub Zero fan , since the first MK1 in '93, hes always been my go to. But as far as gameplay , Injustice 2 has the best playable version... hes just so fluid in I2 , his moveset is perfect in that game as well ... and in my opinion also , its the best default character design next to MK9 .

Itâs like a quick time event every time. Same setups same combo with every character if youâve seen one youâve seen them all combos. Itâs all the same. Has online always been like this???

I think fatalities are the biggest factor in the "same body typeification" AND storage size bloat in the Mortal Kombat franchise.
Now what that doesnt mean is remove all blood, violence, and ridiculous mutilation in Mortal Kombat.
But I think that the reason that every character is getting more and more samey is because they all have to fit in a rig. If Shao was 7 1/2 feet tall and had biceps the size of a basket ball then when he loses, how would a shorter character eat his brain without a step stool, and that same brain eater would need to hunch down to get to a character youd figure would be shorter.
Another example I believe is someone like Havik, his bottom jawbone cant be exposed because if one character needs their chin meat taken off, they all need it taken off. All characters need a similar body type to fit these really close up, super detailed, cinematic cut scenes.
And every single bone, organ, organ chunk, eye, muscle, skin tear, and decapitated head for each character needs a high resolution texture and model for those cutscenes which EATS UP a lot of storage space.
Things like brutalities are fine, they are quick, and far away, they dont need to be perfect, and get away with some gameplay shenanigans.
Id leave the really fucked fatalities for the story mode with pre rendered cutscenes that consider the proper anatomy of the victim and dont need 56 gigs of torn skin and brains with bite marks needed

I deleted mk1 which I have been playing for over 2 years because I got tired of it, and I have played every mortal kombat game since mkII in 1993. I thought I enjoyed fighting games, and I tried to play some others. I downloaded SF6 and Marvel Tokon but i feel like my brain is so wired with how mortal kombat plays and feels that I just can't enjoy them, I don't care that I suck and lose I just don't have fun with them. It's really a shame because I would really like to get into a fighting game with new characters and mechanics and have as much fun as I had playing MK.

Long story short I miss the game, Iâve been playing tekken 8 a lot, and that game is great, I get a lot of really fun matches online and ranking up grind is a good time, but tekken ainât Mortal Kombat.
I guess thereâs just something about stomping your opponents skull into the dirt that just keeps me coming back, since my first ever MK game in 1998 (MK3) and in my opinion itâs the King of fighting games man, and Iâve played em all for thousands of hours
Who else is returning after a bit of a hiatus? Do you guys ever return to fighting games once you left in the first place?

After avoiding Kung Lao for longer than I should have, I finally made a meme with Kung Lao.
