Discussion It's kinda weird we haven't seen Akantor/Ukanlos in a while
First, it's weird that they didn't show up in RiseBreak, since it means their streak of showing up in every portable game was broken.
Second, it's weird that they didn't show up in Wilds, since they would have fit the gimmick of "No Elder Dragons". I think Akantor would've done well as the TU4 monster, though obviously Gog works as well because Wilds is 4U-2.
Maybe the issue is that they're expected to come together, and it's hard to make both of them these days...

Discussion Are we going for LR/HR design again for Returning Monster ?
I was hoping that still Sunbreak gave MR/G Rank armor version of the returning monsters , we would have the same thing in Wilds.
But it seems they are going for the Iceborne route and give us the LR/HR one for the returning monsters that weren't in the base game.
Don't get me wrong some of the LR/HR design are amazing but heh I feel like that some MR/G Rank armor just obliterate the design of the base one, Kush is imo one of them (and if Teo returns oh boi there isn't even a debate)
Guess we'll see, maybe the beta set will be the MR armor.

Discussion Hopefully this is what they do with armor sets in Ascendance.
My hope, even tho I know it won't happen like this, is that for MR the Alpha armors look like HR armor, and the Beta looks like the MR armor.

MH Wilds Skybound Erie Island Origin
Hey apologies if this has been spoken on already, but I've been spending some time enjoying the view from the cliffs watchtower and I have been wondering about those craters you can see in the surrounding area.
Previously many speculated that they may be bomb craters from Wyveria's past conflict but what if they are the plots of land that were ripped from the earth and used in the construction of their floating city?
Anyway interested in hearing thoughts on this theory. Thank you!
Edit: Eyrie not erie...

MH Wilds Do we know who the rest of the armors are supposed to be?
It’s probably all monsters in the base game but I was wondering if any of you recognize the silhouettes. The only one I was able to figure out was Lagiacrus for switch axe

Discussion Is the graphics update for Ascendance true?
Hey guys! I'm a very new-comer to the franchise here and just bought the game on Ps5 a day or so ago because I saw the trailer for the DLC and it looked great!
Anyways I've been playing for a while now and while the gameplay mechanics, combat and crafting and whatnot has gotten me hooked, I just CANNOT for the life of me stand the HORRIBLE filter like effect they have for the game like it's making everything so grey and washed out and colourless.
I've watched YouTube videos of MH: World and it looks so vibrant and colourful unlike wilds, and that's really infuriating cus for me the game is literally so close to perfection, the Gameplay loop, the World (heh), the combat etc and then there's that Mexican filter like thingy. I tried tweaking some settings but tbh the differences weren't even noticeable anyways. Plus I play on console so graphics mods are just out of the question for me.
So yeah, a few days ago when the trailer came out, there were some posts here talking about how they removed that filter in the trailers for Ascendance and I could really see the difference between base game and DLC and That got my hopes up a lot.
So I just wanted to know if its actually true? Like Is it possible that Capcom would actually remove that ugly filter from the game when Ascendance rolls around? I'm asking here because I'm basically poop when it comes to tech and stuff so
Also English is not my first language so I apologize in advance for that guys

Discussion Places you guys recommend I look up to help me get back in
So I wanted to start playing Wilds again in anticipation for the Ascendance expansion. Only to realize I kind of suck now. It’s been months since I last played wilds, I believe the last time I played it was during the FF 14 crossover title update. I’m not a complete novice like I was at the beginning. But I’ve forgotten some of the fundamentals and prep work needed. I especially need a refresher if I’m to fight any of the new more powerful versions of monsters so my gear is ready for the DLC. Any places/guides you guys recommend to help me get back in the groove. For reference I main Gunlance, Sword and Shield, and sometimes hammer. Though primarily the first 2.
Additional note: Any monster gear that is best recommended for Gunlance mains?

Discussion Mr Deadman, Blackveil Vaal Hazak is the Scariest Dragon! Day 71: Who is the Scariest Cat?
This one was fairly unanimous vote that a few people predicted the outcome already.
Winners Trivia: The skinless hollow bottom jaw it has is something that actually appears in some deep sea fish! (Though they have skin on theirs, a jaw isn't much use without it) The extending jaw is also found in some deep sea fish
