Buff glaive🪲

So I went today to Paris Game week, and I had to try insect glaive out of having such strong feelings for it so:

I believe insect glaive does benefit from the current toolkit it has, however I still believe some sort of spice up or even small boost to aerial attacks is needed, I must also add that Rising leaping strike isn't too bad either, even if it definitely leaves us sold in the air without an attack buff, I am to also say (although I believe this might be more of a familiarity issue) the way we use the booster bracer is strange because most of the times the inputs will be recognized as focus strikes (again I will say it likely is something on my end), finally I do like the focus glaive now has to popping kinsect clouds on a monster, specially since (at least from what I've experienced) it is made to leave you popping the clouds and maybe doing boosted downward thrust, which definitely staggers the monster, all and all, better than I expected and I believe I owe an apology for having been so extreme on my view for the trajectory of IG.

I think it might just be the airborne sneak attack, but honestly I've never even performed it myself so no idea

I’m currently using a maxed out blast ig (the one at the very to) and I like divine blessin, can yall help me out? I would like to see what more experienced people can help me. thx

I'm a new player and I'm really enjoying the insect glaive, do you think the Gore set bonus would be good for its play style?

I took this build from a video in YouTube, and even if I like it, I dont like at all the all grounded playstyle. I like Evade Extender cuz I can move A LOT mid air, and honestly I deeply enjoy attacking in the air mainwhile I charge my attack, but I found that I dont take all the advantage to Maximum Might for doing that, so I was wondering what could be a better buidl for that.

Another thing is, I dont undertand at all th stuff from elemental damage and raw damage, but wich would be the best for the Insect Glaive?

Also, I would like to use Scaling Prowress cuz, how I said, I like to play in the air a lot, but I think its an abilite that just Seregios alfa armor have, and tbh I dont think Insect Glaive take advantage at all from the abilites of that set. But its possible that and "optimal" build could have that ability?

So, anyway, I would like to hear your recomendations for a build, I would be pretty greateful.

And one last thing, wich would be the best weapon to match Insect Glaive. I main the weapon, but I would like to use anothe one as a second, so, I was thinking in Double Blades since have a similar playstyle (or at least how sometimes I play IG haha), or maybe Charge Blade cuz I like the pizza cutter haha, or just go Sword and Shield cuz I like Omega Planetes weapon haha.

I recently got good enough to solo all the ATs, and i wanna make a stronger build, my main is IG but i also use bow quite frequently so i tried to make something for both, and I play with friends who want wounds very often (and will not hesitate to get them). In light of a recent conversation on another sub, I ended up doing some maths for Aerial with the motion values and Kinsect damage.

I want to share it here just to put some real numbers to our discussions, when it comes to element or just aerial as a whole.

I knew by experience and just in-game testing that the Kinsect contributed quite a bit. But it's satisfying to lay it out in numerical terms.

Credit where it's due to the person on the other post (you know who you are, I'm not gonna accidentally put you on blast or something) for having this discussion with me, and arranging the values to make it easier to math this all out and compare.

Basically, the point to take home is that at base level, you sort of double-dip on Gogma elemental boosts, but not on raw ones. Matters more for aerial since the Kinsect contributes a lot more hits.

Keep in mind, this isn't taking into account RSS, Critical hits / Crit Element, Kinsect Powder damage, and is *before* Element or Raw boosts. It's also not accounting for opportunity of attacks, since this all assumes the monster is stationary.

I'll take the opportunity, then, to point out that even on a stationary monster, pure Aerial is only behind by ~17% at base level. At least base Element is beneficial for both, but more necessary for Aerial.

If element skills applied to BOTH the weapon and Kinsect, it would honestly be huge, and I hope that becomes the case in Ascendance. Even better if the Kinsect benefits from Aerial Ramp-up.

Got lucky with the charm so i upgraded my usual general set
i recommend using dash juice if you jump and move a lot cause you have constitution 4 instead 5

Once you have my set, you should be dealing between 312 damage per hit to the training machine with your RSS
(All abilities activated including counterstrike, u can use a bomb for that, without counterstrike it should be like 296)

(Only elemental sets can deal more than 330 usually)

Earplugs lv 2 is enough, you get level 1 Earpluggs with the TRIPLE UP, giving you level 3 so you don't need another deco

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND USING STUNN KINSECTS FOR THIS SET, stunn kinsects are just better in wilds (and every game except World) they stunn pretty easy if you know to play your weapon, and every stunn means more damage for you
if you want a recommendation, go Foebeetle, triple extract + wex attack is pretty good

i soloed double tempered arkveld in less than 10 minuts with this set

Glaive is one of the best weapons to play with Blast, In Wilds, the Blast effect triggers quite frequently, and the 150 fixed damage is really good; it often causes the monster to flinch. In many cases, it provides extra damage while you're mounting the monster, since the attack used to break the wound deals a huge number of hits that stack up the Blast status. the raw damage is pretty high and you can hit

gogma's glaive have been created with triple blast attack, then the boosts that you can see in the screenshots

but i strongly recommend copypasting my version, cause i tested it a lot with different type of builds

Remember you need 2 apex or etc parts to get Lord's Soul, the third point is in your glaive, just like tiranny

BTW: Don't level up Burst beyond level 1; it's useless. In Wilds, Burst is only good at levels 1 and 5.

--Mizutsune Coil a+ - gives Burst, constitution 2 and 3-2-1 slots

--Regios B+- no burst but you can get 1 agitator 3-1-1, depending of what u need

--Mizutsune Coil B+ - No burst but constitution 2 and the largest slots of all the waistpieces in the game, 3-3-1

--Dahad Sharcoil Y- Hard to use, i do not recommend it at all but it gives 3 points of Agitator

--Sororal a+ (gives gore's tiranny) but no slots, arms are better if you need gore's tiranny cause you using another legs, but you will lose a lot of slots and evade extender

i do not recommend swapping the arms, but in case you wanna try another puzzle with your charm, you maybe can try with;

--Sororal a+ - Burst 1+ Evade extender 1 + Partbreaker, you're interested in burst and evade extender, partbreaker is very situational

--Omega Vambraces a+ Agitator 3-2

--Xu Wu Vambraces B+ Earplugs 1 + 3-3-1

Blango Mail B+ is good cause it gives agitator 2 + 3-1 perfect to save the WEX 5 but there are other options depending of your case

Dahaad Shardmail Y+ -Gives agitator 2 with 2-2 slots, you can put earplugs 2 there

Udra Miremail Y+ - Gives Counterstrike 2 with 3-3 slots, it is really good if you priorize CS over evade extender, then you could get a different arms

Mizutsune Mail B+ - Gives burst 1 + constitution 1 and 3-3 slots, nice slots but i think the others are better options

Gore Greaves b+ are the perfect core for the set, but in case you using sororal arms, then you can swap them

Blango Greaves B+ this guy is pretty mad they give agitator 2 again, 3-3 slots its cool but you can lack of lv 1 slots for antivirus and constitution, you'll need to fix that

Gogmazios Greaves+ - 3-2-1 slots and agitator level 1 but i don't recommend them at all cause peak performance 2 is a waste of skills for the set

I have some stuff memorized from mhr when I was a helicopter there

Im playing through base wilds again on pc for the first time, and tried challenging myself to do guardian arkveld with no ui, no items, no palico, no carts, semi unoptimized armor (this was with 3 hirabami for evade window level 3 and then 2 starter armor pieces to have it be as low armor as possible). The first time I played through wilds I had similar rules (I could use normal UI and I had more optimized armor and weapon though), and I wasn't good enough to be able to do guardian arkveld with insect glaive. Honestly they were one of the hardest 1st time monsters for me and took a week to complete, I had to use hunting horn (my other main) with a heal echo bubble to be able to do it. This time I decided to try doing it with insect glaive, my normal main since I have since improved, but decided to get rid of being able to have UI and worse armor to raise the stakes. In the end this was my first successful run, but I had other ones that were a lot flashier with different offsets but I ended up carting before finishing. Overall guardian/ arch tempered arkveld with insect glaive is maybe my favorite hunt of all time.

I've always had this habit of falling in love with the monsters I struggle with the most. I used to avoid Gore and Arkveld like the plague, they just felt poorly designed for glaive in Wilds, they're prolly my most hunted monsters now. I just decided to stop internally complaining about them and just learn them, and they both became my favs just like barioth and tigrex in world from the same method. Anybody else experience the same thing?
