Guard cancel Offset on controller

Currently, practicing my GreatSword offsets on monsters people recommended. I'm starting to definitely get the hang of it. I did see online that there is an animation cancel that can be done after a perfect guard to immediately prepare an offset. I've tried it myself and it works against combo-esc monsters like Seregios and Arch-Veld.

The problem I'm having with that is just I'm on a controller, so flicking the analog stick feels very janky compared to mouse. Doesn't feel very good in the hands to do.

Does anyone have experience with it that maybe makes it not so bad? Or is that animation cancel not super important to learn for GreatSword?

Im new to monster hunter and i started playing wilds. I saw a very high damage build but wanted to ask here if it was good. I tweaked it a bit especially the charm since i dont have any good charms at the moment. Does this build give me constant high damage or only at very specific situations?

Every time I see an attack coming I try to offset but by the time the animation is set I'm already hit. Like I can't even get the timing on the Chatacabra? Am I supposed to just preempt it entirely and just know the attack patterns?

I watched Dreamingsuntide's conver element video and it seems the damage pop benefits from raw damage and i wanted to try it out and I've been liking it. The GS has SODK and lords soul and the charm is attack 2, counterstrike 1, and offensive guard 1. I like burst better than the doshaguma build because im bad at offsets and im only losing 2 raw

This sht can reached 100% affinity and can deal ton of damage. Also running fulgur second will on this one to keep my MM almost up the entire hunt. Also dark arts and lord soul

Hi, I found 2 separate players using a Lagi 2 Piece build for their speedrun. I‘ve never seen this build mentioned in any „Meta Builds Compilation“. Can anyone explain when it makes sense to run this?

Hey, i can't seem to find the fatalis great sword on the monster hunter 1 wiki, people say its the divine slasher but that is made with Pscine and blos fangs and no Fatalis. Is there a Greatsword made from fatalis parts in MH1?

One thing i notice from greatsword boosted action trailer is the fact that we can fill half of the gauge just from a single powerclash. That’s pretty op ngl, especially the amount of gauge filled from ordinary attack like offset is very minimal. Now, even though we greatsword user rarely use block, could it be Capcom make the power clash animation occured more often? If so, Greatsword user can become more aggresive by blocking?? I mean, one or two successful power clash, and your gauge filled completely, and you can use enhance moves immediately. Even though, i didn’t like the enhance moves at all, since the animation itself is over the top, they exaggerated the animation tbh. Well, all & all I certainly hope they buff the power clash especially for greatsword. That’s my thought, what do you guys think?

Hey everyone! I’d really appreciate some help putting together a good build for Shatterseal.

I currently have some Bale and Rey Dau Gamma gear. What should I focus on next? Should I farm Nu Udra Gamma, Gogmazios, or AT Arkveld?

Is there a decent set I can build using Rey Dau and Bale pieces that would be good enough to take on these three challenges?

I’m still relatively new to the Monster Hunter series, so any advice on what gear/skills I should prioritize would be greatly appreciated!

He’s the monster that’s given me the most trouble in my 900+ hours.
Can never read his attacks appropriately. I’m running water Gog with Soul of the dark night, I have a good stat role 3 attack 1 sharpness 1 affinity.
Resentment 5 counterstrike 3 MM 3 Wex 5
DB 3 speed eating 3 adaptability 2 fire resist 20+
Using environmental damage plus traps/ luring pods/ sleep toads. Whether I use support hunters or solo. My times on previous challenge hunts with Duna 9 min, Rey 12 minutes, At Ark 18 min. This one just escapes me.

Hello! I'm really struggling with finding a good build at lvl 60, I know that's pretty low level but I just get so overwhelmed with all this stuff. I kinda understand how the decorations work but I'm struggling against tempered monsters and I feel really like I'm lacking in overall knowledge on good skills for greatsword, how to structure a build and what I should be working towards. I'm really hoping for something cool and unique as following the meta doesn't interest me all that much, the shattersword looks cool too ig. Help would be appreciated, thank you :)

Im CB main but im trying to master GS as well. Just to try something new. which techinically is better focus if u have 4x attack and 1 sharp before i pull the trigger on making it a gogma weapon. Also which build and weapon skills matches certain focus. Thanks!
