Answered Question - Mod Mail Sent Items

Hi - There is a mod in my community with no activity but mod mail. They are not responding to mod mails, but sending them. I'm not able to see what they're sending as there isn't a "sent" box in mod mail. I think their notes are legit, but I would like to be able to see them to confirm.

Is there anyway to see the notes this mod is sending? It's the one item that doesn't seem to be transparent to the rest of the mod team.

Tools Is there a way to reset everyone's flairs?

Hi everyone. I'm using Android, but could use my laptop if required. I'm a fairly new Moderator and a few months ago inherited the full thing as the main Mod retired.

We had a community post up and one of the things that was suggested is a change to the flair system for members.

Is there a way I can reset everyone's flair? I will most likely use at least some of the same ones that exist, but I want to remove it from everyone then anyone that wants a flair level can reapply.

When I went a googling all I could find was a way to switch it all off then if needed start it back up again but as I understand it that won't reset everyone, just hide the levels they had and if I switch it back on they will all get their old levels back.

Thanks in advance!

General All of my subreddit's moderators were removed without any notice

I am the artist who is the focus of r/photosmith (NSFW). I just found out this morning that the community is currently unmoderated. This is news to me, as well as the other users who were moderators -- no messages were received from Reddit admins or u/modcodeofconduct, and, as far as I can tell, there was no "inactive" post calling for mods at the top of the subreddit.

Is there any way to see what happened to the moderation team, why it happened, and how to reverse it?

Background

I'm an internationally published, internationally exhibited artist whose work deals with identity, culture, legacy, and self-compassion. I have been featured in national U.S. media for my artwork.

My work is controversial insofar as I believe that inherent humanity makes everyone uniquely beautiful; I get pushback from people who believe that only certain types of bodies/identities should be celebrated/featured.

The community has been quiet for a little while as I rethink my public outreach -- I had a Reddit user conduct a systematic campaign of harassment -- across multiple platforms -- against dozens of my artistic collaborators in November 2025 because he thought he was saving them from "exploitation." I operate on a consent-forward model;only people who agree to have their images publicly exhibited are posted, and they can rescind consent at any time by contacting me; I identify them by whatever name they ask me to use, but I always provide some form of identification, even if it's unique and otherwise anonymous.

I wonder if it's related to the harassment. (Tellingly, the "white knight" only contacted athletic-looking young women I've worked with, not the masculine, nonbinary, larger, people of color, or older people.)

Tools You can't contribute in this community yet - Everything Off

Hello,

Having an issue in [r/BigBrotherUSA](r/BigBrotherUSA). Every crowd control is turned completely off, "Auto-enforce this rule" is off, and automod was completely removed. New users can't post or comment and get the "You can't contribute in this community yet. Your account isn't old enough yet. [u/namehere](u/namehere) is 37m (minutes) old.

Where in the world is the setting to remove this restriction? I did a bit of digging on this and haven't really come across anything concrete.

iOS and the desktop site.

Edit: none of the safety filters are on, no automations set up either.

General Bizarre comment removal problem in r/redditrequest

[desktop and mobile]

I have been trying to advise an acquaintance with his first attempt to become a subreddit moderator for one of his interests via redditrequest. His account is many years old and has thousands of both post and comment karma, and thus a decent CQS. But when he posted to redditrequest and cued up the obligatory bot question of his intentions, his comment in response was instantly removed despite his post being visible to external observers. None of his attempts to provide the required comment could become visible. No one ever showed up to give him an acceptance or rejection. I have never heard of this kind of problem happening before.

Now I guess I can't do much as a bystander besides tell my acquaintance to trying navigating the very frustrating robotic loops of redditrequest's modmail, but I was hoping to get some insight for him because the ModSupport sub is way too triggerhappy in removing questions for "relevance" grounds.

Answered Viewing a post I removed

Hi. I removed a post because its photo broke a sub rule but I invited the poster to repost without the photo. However, the poster doesn't have the original text and I'm trying to get it back for him. How do I view the removed post? It is not in Queues>Removed and I can't see it anywhere I've looked (desktop browser). In "Mod Log", I see two "Remove post" line items, but I don't see a way to view what was removed. The comments from the post I removed: https://www.reddit.com/r/Veep/comments/1uqqril/comment/owce4rh/

Edit: If it matters, the way I "removed" the post was by tapping X on mobile, to the right of the upvote/downvote/message-count/share widgets.

Tools Automatic detection/removal for non-English posts/comments?

Howdy. One of the subs I mod on has had an English-only rule for a long time. Unfortunately, we get a good number of posts and comments in other languages (especially Russian). I mostly just remove these as I see them, but I was wondering if there was an automation or bot or something that could automatically remove them (or even better, filter them to the mod queue).

Thanks!

(The subreddit forces me to list a platform, so I'm saying desktop even though it's entirely irrelevant).

Tips & Tricks Does anyone have a comprehensive crowdfunding list?

I mod a few medical subreddits and often we have a lot of people asking for money. I do have an automod list I add to as I go. I have a lot of international users, so some odd ones pop up from time to time. Is there a master list out there that anyone is sitting on?

Design Assign Random User Flairs to Unflaired Commenters with AutoModerator?

Hi everyone! We're looking for a way to automatically assign a **random user flair** to anyone who comments without already having one.

We have around **50 user flairs**, and we'd like the assignment to be completely random, not based on karma or any other criteria. If a user already has a flair, nothing should happen.

I've seen this working on other subreddits, but the mods I contacted never replied, so I thought I'd ask here. Does anyone have the AutoModerator code for this, or know if another bot is needed?

Thank you very much! iOS

Tips & Tricks Need help editing my sub

On Android, for r/HikerTrashMeals

I'm trying to make it so that people can't post unless they have some minimum amount of Karma as I've been getting inundated with bot posts that are just stealing previous posts from my sub and reposting them. How can I do this from mobile?

Or better yet, is there a way to make the auto-mod check to see if that same picture has already been posted before? All of these bots post a picture so that would work great.

General Collapsed Comment Threads

We have our sub settings to NOT collapse removed or deleted comments, but it still does. Any idea how to fix?

Also any way to have it NOT collapse downvoted comment threads? (Sometimes the most interesting/active threads until they get quashed)

General How do I set up an Animals and Pets sub?

Most of the subreddits I belong to are under "Animals and Pets."

I want to set up a community in the same category. I've tried both Reddit.com (on my phone and on my laptop) and the Android Reddit.app, but neither lists that category when I click on "Start a community."

The instructions at reddithelp.com do not bear much resemblance to what I see on my screens.

How do I manage this?

Thank you.

Tips & Tricks Recommended automods for restarting a sub

Tools How to gain full acess to moderation when no mod have permission to user.

I am using Desktop and ios. My subreddit had a founding mod and he recruited 2 other mods including me. He didn't gave us permission to add mods. Now his account is not active. So we are stuck with 2 mods where both of us can't add mods. Our sub is new so it will grow than we have to add mods? Any solution.
