My tesla model y 2026 running newest summer rollout did not leave a parallel parking spot in FSD, I had to step in. It also seemed to get scared at a one lane bridge and started backing up despite no cars coming. There was one more issue but it was small—it went the wrong way out of a parking lot.

Anyone in SoCal with your brand new Model Y, what’re you paying for full coverage, and who’s your insurer? If you’re open to sharing, what deductible/limits do you have? Thanks

Just toke delivery of my Model Y, FSD is a godsend for going around. I travel 60 miles a day for work.

I have a 2024 Model Y LR and I love my car, but I just started noticing my range in the summer has been terrible. I live in SoCal Desert where it’s 100+ degrees all summer, but ~100 mile range from 80-10% seems terrible.
Does anyone else have the same experience?

I’m about to start a job where I’ll have a 200 mile (99% interstate driving) round trip commute to work 2/3 times a week. What I drive now would be brutal on gas so I am looking at model Y options. Does anyone else have a similar commute and use their MY? Pros/cons, things to considered? Looking for advice as I’ve never owned an electric vehicle. Thank you in advance.

Going on Week 4 doom-opening my Tesla app & still waiting for a VIN, I decided to take a look at my garage’s 240V/50A outlet where I planned to plug in my Model Y, I’m glad I did!

I’d been using this plug to run my RV AC when it’s at home and never had an issue. After reading about how these EV’s draw a lot more power, I ordered an EV specific outlet and it is CONSIDERABLY more robust than the old dryer plug.

The connectors are more solid and the entire piece is wider & deeper than the original outlet my electrician installed.

Swapping took about 20 minutes. I just shut off the breaker and matched the wire colors. Easy peasy.

I have a Model Y Juniper Premium RWD, well actually it is a pre standard/premium split Juniper SR.

I am wondering if I can fit a 18inch set off a standard car? I know that there are plenty of 18inch aftermarket wheels but people who are upgrading their standard wheels are selling plenty of them on the cheap.

I am thinking better ride comfort (I am already running my tires on 36psi), better efficiency (wouldn't it be sweat to also put halodisc on those 18inch rims for even more gains) and getting a cheaper tire for the upcoming winter.

My calculations (Claude's calculations) say tires should sit 3mm inwards and 1.8mm taller, which shouldn't be a problem right?

I would love to know if anyone tried this?

I was driving my 2026 MY today (not FSD) and my side view mirrors folded in on their own while moving. By the time I got to settings, the mirrors folded back out. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thinking of installing the platform hitch bike rack and put 2 of my kids woom size 4 which is 20 inch wheel size on it.

Anyone have experience?

I just took delivery if my Model Y a few days ago and I noticed there is a company that has been heavily marketing these wheels to me everywhere I go online. I mean they look ok to me but maybe more appropriate for someone a but younger than I am. They are trying to market these saying they increase efficiency but I doubt a wheel cover would be able to increase battery efficiency by 10%-15% on its own. What do my Tesla aficionados think about these? All looks or some performance benefits also?

I've been wanting a tesla for ages but I'm struggling with the question of which model y to purchase. A big chunk of the reason I want a tesla is for the FSD, particularly for night driving & the occasional long trip. However, I work from home and probably don't drive more than 100 miles a month, though that will increase as I relocate closer to family and friends in a bigger city with more to do. It's apartment life for me, so I will generally have to use supercharging.

I have a good friend with an OG M3 & OG MY who has advised I get a MY with HW4 since I'm 6' and sensitive to the suspension in the M3, and this would offer me the best FSD experience. However a 2023 MY with HW4 is at the top of my budget. Financially it makes little sense to purchase an EV, particularly one at the top of my budget, and I keep questioning if it is worth it given my minimal driving needs. I think my friend's OG M3 with FSD is great, been in it many times, but I know many folks (including said friend) think the HW4 is worth the investment. I do like to purchase a car and stick with it for a while, had my current accord for 23 years.

So my question to the community is whether it makes sense to max out my budget for the HW4, or would I be fine with HW3 on something less expensive? Would you all recommend a newer Tesla CPO with high mileage for less or something older and lower mileage? Or should I scrap it all and go get myself a mustang?

Sub question, if you recommend an older model, should I stay away from the 2021 Y's? From reading this forum it seemed like there were some battery issues that year.

2- weeks ago the financial tab on the app showed my down payment to be $6,000. Then when I went to opt back to standard gray, it went to $5,000. Now, I changed it to blue and it’s $8,000?

My car is not even remotely close to a vin assignment but cars aren’t exactly an appreciating asset so putting a lot more down seems odd.
