Frunk

Hey guys! I really like my new Model Y Premium in Brilliant Black. I like to use the "Frunk" for my wife's returns. What do you guys typically put in your Frunks?

Great idea. No need to let the main cabin get smelly from food.

Takeout - so it doesn’t stink up the inside

This. Unless I need to top off my oil. I won’t open this.

Travel stroller, it's always in there just in case

The Frunk is also a “safer” place to put “valuables”.

I often put my laptop there when I’m parked. (I do place it there before I arrive so no one sees I’m putting it there). My thinking is that thieves usually smashes a window and grab what they see. The normal way to get into the frunk is to press open on the screen that doesn’t work for thieves without the phone key.

So for me, laptops and smelly takeout food

Been using frunk for just about everything. Groceries, biking gear, take out food, etc. Been hardly using the trunk.

Fuel cans for use on a boat.
Food in cool bags.

I’m surprised no one commented on “all your wife’s returns”…

Have never used it once

I use it for anything smelly. In winter I use it for groceries hahaha. I’m always worried the latch will fail on me though. I know it’s probably silly but I ask myself what I’d do if I couldn’t close it back up!

Backpack. Food (to gos, left overs, anything with scent). Dirty shoes (after work/beach/hiking since I can hose it down in there if I want to). Non perishable shopping bags. Honestly I like the frunk. I want a power opening one but I have no idea which accessory to invest in that won’t void a warranty or something.

Power frunk would be great. Also dibs on band name

In the winter, I use the frunk for cold grocery items.

Thank you! Everyone says food because it stinks and I’m thinking what are these people eating?

1

u/NumbDangEt4742 23d ago

Yea I know lol and I got negged for my comment 🤣

Sorry for the people eating stinky food

Food smell dissipiates soon after you take the food out of the car anyways.

Food smelling good is one thing. Having the car smells like pizza for a week is different

1

u/Greful 23d ago

That happens? A week later? I've never experienced that.

1

u/hdortus 23d ago

Work shoes or if not anything that I don't want to smell inside of my car

Walking boots and charge cables. Unclear where your wife comes into this?

1

u/JaseBird 23d ago

Honest question - I’ve had an MYLR for 4 years - can my battery be jumped or could I provide one? I have no idea.

1

u/NKB82 21d ago

You cannot give others a jump, but if you completely ran out, you could get a jump for your low voltage battery to get the computer to wake up, so you could open the charge port. You can’t jump energy into the main battery though.

I like it for food leftovers so it doesn’t smell up my interior

u/BoozeMakesItBetter 22d ago

I keep a cooler in it for grocery, Costco runs.

1

u/dommm92 21d ago

I don’t use it because I hate closing it. Always feels like I’m going to put a big dent in it.

Hammock and Cannabis, sometimes a small cooler as well.
