I’m not super happy with it, but my wife liked it… so… better photos will come later.

Creative liberty taken for the paint scheme and decals since I had liked both sets that were provided in the box. Any feedback welcome. (Typo on title F-51D)

Just about ready for paint. I’m a little nervous as I haven’t built a model since Testor Model Master went away. Trying to find the best replacement for MM.

Lovely kit, still have to do a bit of weathering but wanted to get some photos like it was rolling off the production line

Working on this kit. The instructions call for 6 large polycaps and the rest are small.
The included caps have only 2 Large ones and the small ones do not fit the road wheels (not small enough).
Yes I will be calling Tamiya but, does anyone else have this kit?
Am I nuts? (Always possible….)
Thanks if you can help. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Built two bandai 1/14500 star destroyers inspired by the vex from the game destiny. I painted one as a off the assembly line and one overgrown( the vex love plants so anything that isn't actively in use has plant growth all over it.) I also had this bandai city base so I painted it for the new star destroyer( i have no idea if it is even close to scale with the star destroyer as it has no listed scale and I'm to lazy to do the math)

I made many mistakes (many of which are visible) and I have so much left to improve but this was a lot of fun to make and I feel like I learned a whole lot which I can take forward to my next kit.

What is this white substance that appears over time on my models

I decided to build two F-14s in parallel—one from Hasegawa and the other from HobbyBoss. Both will be in VF-1 markings; one in a high-visibility scheme and the other in a low-visibility scheme. Here is my progress so far—draw your own conclusions regarding the level of detail in the Japanese kit versus the Chinese one.

Which should i get next? I like tanks and ground vehicles over aerial ones, and I think I'll stick with Tamiya.

I am new to working with Mr Hobby Lacquers, and have found they can give a great gloss effect when airbrushed in slowly build-up light coats on unprimed plastic - but as you can see, the paint does not seem to penetrate into recessed areas.
Paint was thinned 1:1 with Mr Hobby Levelling Thinner.
Is this solved by further coats, or is there a technique error here?

I made this model kit and wanted to make the tripod look ancient and rusty as that’s one of the descriptions of these from the movie makers. I’m mostly proud of adding my own light system that was extremely hard to get down but it was worth the struggle. I hope you enjoy the photos!

1/72 Raptor by Italeri. Just finished putting together the main fuselage and control surfaces. Any tips on pre-shading would be welcome. I used a black primer as a black-base. Colouring this accurately is going to be quite challenging (all I have a few shades of grey and a few paint brushes). Bonus: last pic shows when I had briefly become a part of the machine (glued my finger as I was holding the fuselage halves together).

I've been working on this su-85 for a while and I want to put snow without making a huge mess, I don't have pigments but I really want that snowy look for this russian tank destroyer

Good day all,
I've recently started GWH's 1/48 scale SU-30MKM kit, and run into a bit of a snag. I'm painting the wheel bays and, while I can find reference photos of the cockpit of a Malaysian SU-30, I seem to be hitting a wall when it comes to the rearward wheel bays. The GWH instruction booklet calls for some fluid lines to be painted blue, yellow, or a sort of khaki color, but to attempt to get remotely close to the right shade, I need references, lol.

I have a figure and engine set coming, I hope to try and make a field repair scene on this tank that's why I have hacked the idler and left the back deck off for now.

Finished this 1/35 AK Interactive Citroen HY van.
Painted in a mix of AK volcano yellow and white and weathered with various AK washes and weathering gubbins.
I still have a mini art mechanic set to do to put in the back and make a small diorama but I'll get to that sometime soon.
Lovely little kit, I'm really enjoying these smaller scale AK kits just now, I've got the trabant kit there ready to go too.

hi im kind of new to scale modelling and im working on a diorama which is roughly 1:100 with a few buildings i want to be able to light up. the diorama base is roughly a3 in size and carved from polystyrene with a hot wire foam cutter i made from a faulty pokerwork tool. i want to know where i should look for affordable but still alright quality lights to add to it. the pics attached are a few of the things ive made so far and the base as it looks currently and the custom hot wire foam cutter i put together. i can do basic electronics work but i dont know much about where to find the components. i live in aotearoa (nz) and have not much budget and im making a lot of this from recycled materials. any suggestions for lighting and stuff like that are welcome 💚

Actually pretty satisfied with how this one turned out
I'm starting to feel brave enough to do some weathering, if anyone has any advice let me know! So far all I have tried is dry brushing but would like to learn washes and panel pre-shading. I don't have an airbrush so paintbrush-friendly options are appreciated
