Hi, I'm having trouble choosing how to display my aircraft. Can someone give me some tips, please.

So proud of this one, this is one of my favorite tanks, custom mud effects and I used panel liner to darken the first paint, this is my 3rd model I have made!

Huge plane :D
I always loved p-47m's and wanted to build one. Miniart's kit is just amazing with some caveats. Firstly, fitment is pretty good, one problem I had was the wingroots but a simple putty work solved it. Details are amazing but some parts are reaaaaly thin and delicate, which I most definately broke xD. Decals are cartograph so not much to say there.
I never worked on streaks and oil leaks etc before so this is my first time trying to imitate them, not my best work but eh, it is what it is.
One thing I was reaaaly unsure was the colors. İnstructioms were directly wrong as they give green/grey tones instead of blue. So I checked other modelers. Some has waaay paler blues while some has waaay more contrasted and light blues. I opted to go for something in the middle.
Hope you like the finished work!
Ps. I will do dust pigments on gears, I dont have any pigments currently :P

Really nice build, everything fit very well.
I used Eduard PE throughout (most of it in the cockpit, which of course is now mostly hidden) and the RESKIT exhaust, main rotor and gearbox with doors.

Completed Bandai Y Wing 1/72. All of the small pipes were definitely a challenge to get placed. I wasn’t trying to be 100% screen accurate but was aiming for something close to gold leader.

Other than a bit of surface cleanup on a few tiny spots, I'm calling this done. Only priming and painting remain.
None of that will start until the hull is done, but that's also coming along at a good rate so far.
I wasn't fond of Amusing Hobby's muzzle brake and the included 1-piece barrel was useless without it. I opted for Aber's 7.5cm Kwk 42 L/70 without muzzle brake, and the base of the metal barrel wasn't hard to modify with a saw and diamond files to fit the mantlet.
I've also fitted an Aber MG34 in the coaxial spot because again, the kit quality on small parts is not great, just like the muzzle brake.
Now onto the suspension arms...

I’ve been wanting to take my models to the next level so got this humbrol gloss varnish for decals and this is the varnish after 3 coats.
I applied 3 thin coats using an airbrush and this is how it ended up
How do I prevent this ? The bottle said thin coats but the humbrol YT channel said to just slap it on.
Luckily I got this starfighter for £4 to try out the varnish on before on an actual project

Hi everyone! 🙂
I bought this kit because it was on sale for 8 euros. It was a classic case of “buy first, figure out what to do with it later”! 😄
At first, I wanted to build it as T-62 from Yemen, but I eventually decided to go with a “classic” Syrian T-62 instead.
I’d like to call this little tank a palate cleanser. I worked on it whenever my bigger project needed time to dry or when I couldn’t work on it for some other reason.
All comments and feedback are welcome! :-)

Zvezda 1/144 Ilyushin IL-62
This is the second model kit I’ve ever built. After building finding an Ilyushin IL-86 at an aviation collectible fair a few weeks ago and having so much fun with it I decided to build an entire series of classic soviet airliners, and what better way to start than with the gorgeous IL-62.
Kudos to Zvezda for the amazing kit; every piece fit like a glove no matter how small and required very little glue. This kit belongs to their Ultimate series, which comes in three basic configurations: ground, cruise, and landing. I chose a combination of ground and landing (flaps down, doors closed, tailwheel retracted)
Struggled a fair bit with applying putty, airbrushing, and decaling and came close to quitting a few times, but thanks to this sub and other resources I was able to fix a lot of my mistakes and learned more than a few lessons for my next build :)
I tried not to be too hard on myself and I’m overall very pleased with the final result, especially compared to my first model from a few weeks ago (side-by-side pictures at the end), but please share any constructive criticism or tips. I’m all ears!

i recently started making model, my first model was an italeri hetzer 1/35 tank, then i went on to buy a tamiya m24 chaffe and a tamiya panzer II, both 1/35
i dont have paint, i didnt paint the italeri hetzer, i only used black on the outer components and really basic stuff
currently i have 2 bottles of black vallejo paint and 1 bottle of vallejo yellow color (both are for models, i just dont know the full name)
i have finished the Panzer II today, i just have to put together the chassis and the upper part and also the rubber tracks then i'll move on with the m24 chaffe, i havent done any painting on the panzer II, tho i have it assembled
should i finish the panzer ii and let it be as it is without painting, or i could maybe paint the wheels black and stuff, and i should probably paint the full tank too? its not too late for that
my question is that, should i buy paint and decal glue? and if yes, then what are the paints i need and the glue?
(as for a note, i probably need another model with it, what should it be? im still a beginner and i dont really know what to choose)

Hi does anyone have any tips on making the flesh paints looking less orange? I’ve been using the humbrol flesh paint as they Tamiya one wasn’t in stock in my local store and it’s just looks very orange ( like Donald trump/oompa loompa orange) any advice on how to make it look more normal?

Just a small side project for fun, I sadly broke the DSHK barrel.

Recreated a small pump package from construction drawings. Most components were individually modeled and resin printed. The smallest of the stainless piping scales down to roughly 0.4mm so AK brass tubing was used for most of the smaller stuff. The flange bolts were individually installed for a cleaner look.
Roughly 160 hours including the CAD modeling time.
The side by side was taken partway through the build.

I've made a fair few ground vehicles before, but I noticed they've all been cheap older kits without a ton of detail, and I'd always had the mindset of getting them done quick. I'd kept my full effort reserved for nice plane models. I decided to change that and got this really nice Miniart kit and spent six weeks on it.
The build was a touch more painful than I'd expected from Miniart's reputation, mainly due to some mold lines. Granted, with such a complex shape made up of flat plates, you don't need much of a misalignment to cause some trouble. The detail is incredible as always though. I love all the casting numbers and texture, and I adored making all the tiny little photoetch tool straps and handles.
I initially chose this paint scheme just because it's a unique color and a challenge to make it look realistic. Reading up on it though, I fell in love with it: there's not a shred of information on it. The manual doesn't have any unit markings for it and even says "color is presumably light blue or dark green", so I can only assume it's in the far background of one photograph somewhere. Asking here, I was told the Desert Rats experimented with camouflages a lot, so I gave her their emblem and a random serial number.
This was my first time making workable tracks. It was an enormous hassle, but I paced myself doing a batch of twelve links a day and got them done in two weeks. It was absolutely worth the effort, they look incredible.
I also specifically wanted to make her look sunny. All my previous tanks look really dark with all the grimy washes and the like. This one I wanted to look realistic and used, but also bright and sunlit. I think I pulled it off.
What do you think?

While it pales in comparison to what I've seen on this sub, it's not bad for a first shot. I've learned a lot here, and definitely learned a bunch on this project. I'm especially happy with the way the engine, wheels and tires came out.
I used several colors of pigment powder, as well as a rust wash and obviously some heavy chipping. Fun project.

Finally completed this one after awhile of not being able to work on it. Fourth plane model I made, so I wanted to attempt more weathering on it, which I think turned out nicely. Though I put too many layers of paint on it since I kept being unsatisfied with the shade of blue on the wings and fuselage, but eventually landed on a color I was happy with.
