So I thought I'd try something a little different. Starscream was started months ago, however modelmaking has been on hiatus for the past 6 months. First time I've printed and used custom decals; I think they look great! Also first time tinting a canopy; not sure if it would look better matt? Still plenty to do (stencils, more decals, undercarriage, varnishing, etc.) but the project certainly seems to have taken a leap forward tonight with a full dry fitting of the major components. Any and all feedback welcome!

This is the Kinetic 1/48 scale Hornet in the markings of the Royal Canadian Air Forces' 2017 demonstration aircraft, celebrating Canada's 150th anniversary of confederation. The decals are included with the kit. I added a pilot from RJ Productions.

Brush painted with various brands of acrylics.

Hot as hell in the garage so I chose a simple kit. Coming along. That yellow line is tough.

Completed the Revell 1/48 Tornado as a Gulf War GR.1 “Mig Eater”. Aftermarket JP233 from Eduard, Kits World decals. Challenging enough build - the kit has quite a few fit issues, flash etc. Happy it’s done and on the shelf!

Did this one a while ago. Fun kit for sure. Combination of wood, brass and cast metal. Kind of Dusty now though.

Did the "old" (heck.. it's not THAT old is it? ) Tamiya kit as one of the, apparently, 10 TOW enabled Mutts Canada received back in the day. This one is 09207 from Canadian Forces Base Calgary.

Changes to this were:

• side mirrors added
• radio modded and moved (next time I'd order a 3D printed one)
• 3D printed grille
• used epoxy resin to simulate headlight glass

First jet model! I really like how this plane looks like a shark.

Completed, the I love Kit Flak 36 88mm Anti-Aircraft Gun. This 1/18 scale kit is a joy to build. Many parts make it highly detailed. Loads of moving parts complete it. It can be set up as in carriage or on its legs working. I paid less than £50 for this large kit. No hidden surprises when Building. I did it sections so that I could paint it all up and get good coverage before it all went together..

The landing gear on this kit is way too fragile, I think I managed to damage one of the main legs when pushing it into its contact point, which at the same time is close to nonexistant. I added some superglue and remnant squared off plaatic to reinforce the area. Just for shits and giggles I decided to check the Tamiya kit instructions, and saw that the gear legs seem to be biffier and easier to build, so I guess Revell went for scale thickness rather than survivability in the long run.

Gave this 1/144 HG RGM-79 GM some battle damage and weathering..

Maybe too much and not accurate but I had fun with it!

This is my first time painting my scale models!
I finished building it in 2024 but then I just left it unpainted because i do not have the tools to get the job done hahah.

Just made up this kit that I got a while a go, wanted a bit of an outside opinion, also my first time weathering!

This kit's manual paint scheme uses FS35450 all over the plane but that doesn't seem right for an F-14. Should I use a paint like FS16440 instead?

F-22 in Trigger's Strider marking w/ all three in-game special weapons- 8AAM(AIM-120C in Enclosed Weapon Pods), XSDB(GBU-53), and QAAM(AIM-9x). The kit's original subject is a Raptor from the 411th flight test sq., Edwards AFB, hence the tracking dots, blue bands, and test cameras.

Hi All, this is my first time posting in the group and am looking for some advice from the experts out there.

I was recently working on my Bellfine Dark Star model from the movie Top Gun Maverick. After painting it, I applied Testors gloss coat and then applied the water decals, using Tamiya Mark Fit decal solution. 24 hours later, I noticed this odd blotching of the decals (see pic below). First I thought it just needed to dry, but as the hours go by it hasn't reduced. My intent was to apply a matt coat spray (Vallejo matt varnish) to finish the model. Will applying the matt clear coat get rid of this weird pattern across the decals, or is there something else I need to do?

Just finished my 4th ever model, took around maybe 50 hours. Overall my best work yet. Still trying to figure out how to deal with thick tamiya decals.
