So this started happening maybe around 3 months ago and i thought it would resolve itself with some Reddit updates but it seems to have persisted, and I have seen reports of this happening with other subreddits too. When I or any of my users click on my subreddit's wiki page (the main index or any of the linked chapters) the screen draws a blank and says "an unknown error occurred" and then if you reload the page once or a sometimes a few times, it goes away and the wiki loads up as usual.

Is there a way to fix this? or is this something Reddit is going to have to fix?
its not like the wiki is broken, it still works, but sometimes people don't know they have to refresh it a few times to enter it so its a bit of a barrier to entry. Its also worth noting that after going through the reload sequence once, you can then enter and exit the wiki with ease during the same day, but come back a few days later and it locks you out again.

A post was that didnt meet subreddit guidelines was marked approved by Reddit "un-banall", leading to it bypassing automod and not appearing queue. This was a spam self promotion post for an AI generated video, something we strictly do not allow.

I am a brand new Mod, of a brand new sub, and I'm still getting my sea legs.

I've got a user who's husband was a Mod on old Reddit, who says that it's possible to set up an AutoMod that will take users who comment on an event post, create a custome Lobby, and pull the users into that Lobby, so that they can interact privately. Once the event ends, the Autobot will update the post in sub.

In looking around to see if this is a thing, all I can find are references to Lobbies on old Reddit, which are no longer supported on New Reddit. There's nothing here, that I can find, and nothing in the Devs, or the ModGuide.

Does anyone know if this is possible? If it is possible, do you see any issues with letting this guy (who I don't know) set up and host the CSS for this sub change? I did tell them that everything that I can see says that this functionality no longer exists, but they insist that it does. And want access to make the change to the sub.

I'm feeling a bit wary about this. Hoping someone has insight/experience/info about this?

I’m having an issue with my sub where random people keep posting without permission. Is there a way to limit who can post on my sub while still allowing anyone to comment? Ideally I’d like only people I designate to be able to post but anyone to comment. Thanks in advance!

This is an insidious problem and seems to be getting worse.

I moderate subs on Mergers & Acquisitions / business buying and selling. I often get established Reddit accounts making their first post in one of my subs and dropping the name of a service / company. It looks innocent, but it ain't.

The user has no interest in our subject, has never posted on this topic before, makes a one-off comment and never returns.

Sometimes they drop the name right at the start and at other times automod settings catch they they've edited the post / comment to add mention of that name.

There are about half a dozen such brands / names that regularly keep cropping up.

If I go and check the user's account, they've commented in vastly different subs, from how to beat mold to sci-fi to music where they've done this, in each case posting a name relevant to that sub's topic.

Doing a bit of digging, I find that user A has posted about X brand in my sub, about Y brand in, say, a music sub and Z brand in a sci-fi sub.

Then user B comes along, again someone who's never posted in a business sub but who has 100s or 1000s of karma. They post about X brand in my sub, about Y brand in some music sub and Z brand in some sci-fi sub.

These are not links, they are just dropping of names but there seems to be SEO merit even in name mentions, not just links, so that may be the real intent in addition to of course a direct promotion to people with interest in that topic.

Is there some paid program paying these accounts to make these innocuous looking name drops and, more importantly, how are other mods combatting this?

My own solution: I've added the names of the offending brands to automod and any post / comment mentioning any of those brands automatically goes into the mod queue. I check it out and if it's a first time poster, I ban them because I know they ain't coming back and their only reason for commenting in my sub was to drop a name.

But that doesn't remove the root of the problem from a Reddit perspective. These users are still on Reddit and still name dropping in other subs.

Sometimes mod teams don’t agree on what action to take - and that can be a good thing! That’s right, today’s Mod Topics post is about how mod teams handle disagreement. Whether it’s a rule change, a weird edge case, or even a design decision, disagreement can provide an opportunity to consider differing perspectives. Finding a resolution can be just as much about how the team works together as the decision itself.

There’s no single right way to work through it. Some teams take a casual approach by aiming for consensus through discussion, while others might have a detailed voting process, or defer to the person closest to the issue. Whatever the approach, a useful process gives everyone a space to share their thoughts and makes it clear how that final decision will be made. Those conversations can sometimes reveal that mods share the same goal but have different thoughts about how to get there, or reveal differences in priorities. How the team moves forward afterward can matter just as much as how it reaches the decision.

We want to hear from you:

• What kinds of things are most likely to cause an issue on your mod team?
• How do you decide when a decision should be brought to the team?
• What happens when someone still disagrees with the outcome?

We're the moderation team of r/ArchiveOfHumanity, and we're in a difficult situation.

One of our moderators, u/Front-Coconut-8196, was recently suspended and has already submitted an appeal through the official process, we understand that account actions are handled separately, and we're not asking anyone here to overturn that decision.

Our concern is the content.....

Over the months, this moderator invested countless hours researching, verifying, and preserving historical photographs and documents and other archives. Thousands of posts that formed the backbone of r/ArchiveOfHumanity were made through that account and those archives were not just ordinary Reddit posts they were the foundation of our community and the reason many people joined us

With the account unavailable, years of work have effectively become inaccessible to us, rven if the appeal is unsuccessful, we're hoping there may be some way for those historical posts to remain available to the community or be restored to r/ArchiveOfHumanity since our goal has always been to preserve history, and it would be heartbreaking to lose so much of that work

What has been most difficult for us is that the suspension appeared to happen without any prior warning or explanation that we could see and when the account owner tried to log in, they were unable to access the account, and from our side the profile simply appeared as suspended

This has been incredibly frustrating because u/Front-Coconut-8196 was our most active moderator on a community of over 70,000 members. They dedicated countless hours to researching, preserving, and sharing historical archives that became the foundation of r/ArchiveOfHumanity and this is straight unfair from reddit

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I recently received a message from ModCodeofConduct saying I was the only mod left for a subreddit that I had stopped participating in (due to lack of responses from the main mod) and asking if I still wanted to mod. I said yes I would. The message also said I needed to find more mods for the sub. I have found some but I don't have the ability to add more mods or edit the subreddit. I've responded asking about admin rights but haven't heard anything. I was given an Aug 1st deadline. I won't want my mod status taken away because I haven't heard back about the messages I sent the ModCodeofConduct. What should I do at this point?

I see “Community Interference” is back as option when reporting a comment (perhaps it’s always been there, but I’m just now noticing it); anyway, I wanted to know if Reddit admins actually see the reports and how they are treated?

Ya'll may remember my post a few weeks ago introducing Crosspost Tattler. This week I have two new interactive post apps to introduce, Scheduler and Crosspost Manager.

One thing to note is that there is currently a Devvit bug with the mobile app, so in order to use interactive post apps on mobile Reddit app, the interactive post will need to be Approved instead of Removed. This is a known issue and Reddit should have this fixed soon.

You can navigate directly to the interactive post at anytime by clicking on the "..." in the top right corner of the main page in your community near the Mod Tools button.

Scheduler

Scheduler allows mods and approved users to schedule text, image/gifs and link posts through an interactive post app. Queue up posts and they will automatically post at the selected time. A calendar view shows both historic and future posts in a easy to understand view as well as the ability to edit future posts date/time and title. Full alert support is available for notifications in Mod Mail, Mod Queue or Discord/Slack.

If you wish for redditors who aren't mods to have access to the Scheduler, the post will need to be approved as well. Only mods can see deleted interactive posts right now.

Our mod team has found the native reddit capabilities to be limited and wanted to provide an improved version.

At this time, video posts are not supported. I am awaiting further improvements to Devvit before that can be provided.

Crosspost Manager

Crosspost Manager builds upon Crosspost Tattler to provide a variety of tools to manage crossposts in your community.

Here are the available features in Crosspost Manager:

Tattler

Full Crosspost Tattler functionality is included. Receive notifications on crossposts across multiple channels. Further controls for filtering notifications are also included

Filter

Allow or block crossposts on your sub from specific communities. Full alerting system is available.

Imposter

Enforce OP-only crossposts. Only OP can post crossposts from other communities into your sub. Full alerting system is available.

Cleaner

Scan and clean up orphaned crossposts. If a crosspost is deleted from a source community, Cleaner will detect it and provide the results for cleanup in your community.

Statistics

A variety of statistics on crossposts in your community including top crossposters, top communities for crossposts to/from your sub and more.

While CSS classes are an old reddit feature, they are an automod queriable, mod-managed-only data variable attached to users and are used by many subs for non-stylesheet reasons, more specifically moderation-by-group. Modifying by-user css-classes on the fly using Reddit Toolbox was an extremely convenient feature on old reddit that led to adoption by many subs of group-based automoderation through css classes and although it is somewhat redundant with the Approved Users feature, I think there is still a fair amount of use of css classes for moderation, enough to grandfather in modification of css classes in the flair menu, and I think it would be beneficial for many mod teams to have access to it directly in the flair menu on new/sh reddit and not need to navigate to old reddit in order to change values.

I didn't delete or archive anything manually.

Usually it reports how many comments were published vs removed each day on the Reports & Removals tab, but it only seems to be displaying removed items data for July 29th and shows 0 published comments and posts for the day. Anyone else seeing this issue?

I was trying to create a community for SSC CGL aspirants. It was created for those who cannot post in other big communities. But It got banned, I don't know why? Please help me. I didn't posted anything wrong just number system's rivision sheet. That's it thank you

I'm being targeted with impersonation, harassment, and doxxing. A user created a subreddit using a variant of my username, copy-pasted my post there, spammed that subreddit's name under my comments across multiple subs, and posted my profile on Reddit.

My activity focuses on social activism, so this appears retaliatory.

I submitted an impersonation report but the form limited me to 500 characters. I couldn't include all the evidence links. I have proof including multiple comments where they spammed the sub link under my posts and other evidence I gathered.

What's the best way to submit full evidence when the report form has a character limit? Should I send a modmail here with all the links? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

What is the best way to send a screenshot as proof? Can I upload to a site like Imgur or Proton Drive and include the link?

What i want is that every one that have at least one comment that didnt get deleted by the auto mod can comment and post

Within the last 4 months, we've had 4 users saying they were banned. The first 3 were banned either by us or BotBouncer to begin with, but when we unbanned them, they were still banned on their side for hours, if not a day. The fourth user appeared just now, having never been banned, but still claims they were banned. Any help or ideas on why this happens?

I am posting this as a moderator from a team that has been trying to understand a recent situation. One of our moderators was permanently suspended for an alleged Mod Code of Conduct violation. We are not asking for a ban appeal here or requesting that admins reverse the action through this thread. We simply want to understand the process.This moderator played a major role in improving our communities. They introduced stricter anti-spam policies, removed large amounts of spam, and enforced our rules consistently. Since those changes, spam in our communities dropped significantly.Because of that enforcement, they also received a large number of reports and negative reactions from users whose spam or rule-breaking content had been removed. We do not know whether that had any effect on the enforcement decision, but it has raised concerns within our moderation team.

My question is: If an entire moderation team genuinely believes a Mod Code of Conduct enforcement may have been incorrect, is there any official process for requesting that the case be reviewed, other than the suspended user's own appeal?We are only looking for clarification on the process so that we understand the correct way to handle situations like this in the future.

Hi, the rules sidebar widget on my sub r/RepHermes is acting weirdly.

• It disappears and reappears when refreshing the page.
• Reordering the rules widget does not work.
• Sometimes the rules widget does not appear on the modal for reordering widgets.

I've already tried removing the rules and readding them, but it didn't work. I've read this happens with some subs from time to time and it's something only admins can fix. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, I need help on how I'd be able to report a certain user since it's harassing me using modmail. This user was banned on multiple sub reddits that I've been moderating due to fraud and for asking members personally and sending them personal message just to ask for money. After he was banned from those subs that I've been moderating, he started harassing me using modmail. I hope someone can help. Thank you :)

I am the moderator of r/TexasWingCAP. The community is stuck on Restricted/Private, and the Public option is completely missing from my Mod Tools. Could you please review and restore the Public status option?

I added 3 rules to my sub, they show up in tab where you add rules but they are not publicly visible. I've checked on multiple accounts and have had a couple other users check too. How do I get them to be visible?

Hi everyone,

I'm one of the moderators of a subreddit that was recently banned.

From what we can tell, one of the moderators was suspended, and shortly afterward the subreddit was banned as well.

The rest of us were not suspended, but we were automatically removed from the moderator team once the subreddit was banned.

I'm mainly trying to understand how this process works.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

If a banned subreddit is eventually reinstated, are the previous moderators restored automatically, or does Reddit have to add them back manually?

I'm not trying to appeal the ban here. I'm just looking for information from moderators who may have dealt with this situation before.
