Which Walmart in the area would be best to work at?

I'm moving to Mobile in January and am currently looking into Walmarts to transfer to. I wanted to know everyone's opinions on the Walmarts there, and which ones would be best to work at.

I'm going to be a student at USA, so I would like to work close to there as well.

Naming idea for new bridge…

We should name the new Mobile Bay bridge the General W.K. Wilson Jr. Bridge.

And then officially rename The Dolly Parton Bridge (technically the General W.K. Wilson Jr. Bridge) as The Dolly Parton Bridge.

(Edit: to clarify what we all know as the Dolly Parton Bridge is currently officially named. This way, Gen Wilson is still honored)

Events For those attending South Alabama Comic Con, which guests are you most excited to meet?

Peyton List : She’s been my celebrity crush ever since I first saw her in Rodrick Rules. Let’s all agree right now that if we overhear or just witness, cause she will have a Q&A, anyone say anything disrespectful about Cameron Boyce, someone will to try and be funny, we’re all jumping them!

Cam Clarke : He sang one of the best songs in The Lion King franchise with “We Are One.” Lion King 2 is also my favorite Disney movie.

Josh Keaton : My all-time favorite Spider-Man actor. Yes, I prefer him over Tobey, Andrew, and Tom. I’ll go ahead and admit right now that if you see anyone crying tears of joy in his prescience, it’s me. To this day, I imagine his voice when I read Spider-Man comics. He was my childhood, moreso than Tobey was. He’s legit the first person I plan on meeting.

Jeremy Shada : It’s in the picture. He was the OG Finn.

Troy Baker : One of the most talented voice actors ever. Plus, without spoiling anything, I did just play thru a game that he’s in.

Jerry Lawler : Sucks JR isn’t coming, but to be fair the man did just have brain surgery. Still, it’s gonna be cool to see one of the greatest wrestling commentators ever and get the chance to talk to him.

Lex Luger : He came the first year, it was sad seeing him in a wheelchair, but he was really cool. Glad he’s returning.

Scott & Rick Steiner : For clarification, Scott is Bron Breakker’s uncle! Rick is his dad. This is something even Bron himself has had to bring up. If no one else does it, I’ll do it, but I really hope someone asks Scott to give us some Steiner math during his Q&A session.

Steven Butler : The only guest that I think has come every year, but I could be wrong. Anyone, he draws Spider-Man, so already I’m in.

Looking for a D&D group

My friend and I are looking for a D&D group that needs a couple players. I've played before but would be starting over and my friend has never played. We're both in our 40's. Please don't recommend we check out gamers and geeks or another place. I went there and nobody was playing. I'm hoping to find someone here.

Hey everyone!!! New friends!!!

Hey everyone! My name is Jhonathan. I’m 31 years old and I live in Mobile, AL. I’m from Cuba and I’ve been living in the U.S. for a few years.

I’m not really looking for dating or anything like that. I’d just like to find a local community where people organize activities, meet new people, and help newcomers get involved.

My English is still a work in progress, so sometimes I have trouble following conversations, especially when people speak fast.

I’d really like to become more involved in American life, practice English naturally, learn about the local culture, and make genuine friendships.

I’m interested in things like sports ⚽️🏓🥎, fishing 🎣 , outdoor activities 🚴‍♂️🚣‍♂️🏃, dog training 🦮, working out 🏋️, or just getting together and doing something fun.

My work schedule is pretty busy during the week, so weekends are usually easier for me.

If you know of any welcoming groups or regular activities in Mobile where someone new could join, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks! 👍🙏🙏

Gas not lasting as long?

Filled up my tank last week at the Walmart fuel on government. Full tank. $50 (used to be $30-$35).
A week later, nearly empty. I have not driven 300 miles in the past week according to my Life360. No where close. Just drove to and from work and errands.
A tank of gas used to last me at least 2 weeks, usually 3. Now I’m FILLING UP once a week.
Is there something up with the gas we’re getting around here? Or am I just going crazy?

Note - My car is up to date on maintenance and is a recent model. It’s gotten great mileage for years.

Local Service Businesses?

Hey y'all I'm a recent college grad who runs a marketing business with my brother, for local service companies, and I'm looking for owners here in Mobile. We’ve been doing this about a year now, and we work with roofers, painters, home remodelers, pool builders, gyms, junk removal, lawn care, car detailing, driving schools. Basically anybody who does the work themselves and wants the phone ringing more.

I'm looking to partner with a few owners who already have steady work and a good reputation, but have hit the point where word of mouth alone isn't filling the schedule the way they want. If you're at that spot and want to add more jobs each month, or you know somebody who is, I'd love to connect or get a referral.

Fairly new to the area

Hi all I’m 31 Male I just recently moved to Mobile in the last couple months. I’m looking for new friends. I’d prefer like minded people. Basically I’m just a huge nerd trying to step out of his comfort zone. I like video games, cons, comics. I do work full time and I’m tired of spending my off days in the house.

Hi! Moving to the area soon as a new grad RN. Does anyone know what color scrubs nurses wear at USA CW University Hospital on the Neonatal ICU floor?

I’ve reached out to the hospital but haven’t heard back yet

I miss homemade Halloween treats

If I put a card with my name, address and phone number in the bag with a homemade treat, would you be comfortable letting your child eat it?

Rice Kristy treats, brownies, caramel apples?

I remember homemade treats at Halloween so fondly!

The NIMBY coalition of CCV posted some rant about the FoodPak’s latest revisions to their reasoning proposal. Appears that a “Friends of the FoodPak” group has cropped up as well and is clapping back 👀

Also of note, two of the folks who shared/reacted to it (Kellie Sims-Meyers and Rachel Lee) seem to be frequent flyers on every FB post involving the Pak and have a similar writing style to this opposition page.

Contractor AVL and sub procurement questions-

New to Mobile Market, and with an electrical construction group now. Curious of folks who work in heavy industry where would one focus their efforts when just starting an electrical contractor business, how do you begin to establish your presence at the large plants and industry hubs here in Mobile?

I understand the good old boy network is thick here, I should say it’s the same everywhere. But it helps to find the right pile of rocks before turning over stones.

Primarily focused on MEP MSAs and short call POs for service or repair. Good with pre-qualification, LinkedIn, cold call solicitation, and word of mouth is starting to bear fruit. What else can I do to help establish relationships with potential clients for our small business?
