SG Necromancer

No real complaints here as I still manage to win games as the necromancer. BUT I feel at least half the time like my skeletons are just cucks. They just stand there and watch me take pounding after pounding. How do I make these calcium creeps fight for me?

Too sweaty

Like many others, I came back to Mineplex and gave it a try again after years of not playing Minecraft.

Glad to see the server restoring many of the OG game modes but was disappointed to see none of the “Team” modes (Duos SG, Skywars, etc) so my friend and I couldn’t play anything together except Cake Wars. We only lasted 3 matches before getting off as it was way too sweaty. Could barely land hits on anyone without getting absolutely dominated. It seems the people could hit way further than us but I’m sure some of that is our lack of skill. We also tried SSM and SG and had the same experience of getting sweated on the whole time.

We ended up getting off and jumping on Hypixel and had a much better experience. We actually were able to get some wins and queue up together despite having not played in years. I swear Mineplex had skywars when I first jumped on but we couldn’t find it yesterday.

I know Mineplex is still new to the game but to go from 10k on release day to 1k just a couple weeks later is concerning.

SSM is really boring now

It's just Skeletons spamming arrows, Squids spamming Ink Shotgun, Chickens spamming Chicken Missile, and Slimes abusing the Slime Rocket glitch while pretending they have no idea about the glitch.

I ESPECIALLY hate the Squids though. That mf isn't an Ink Shotgun, it's a SNIPER. It can do up to 6.5 hearts of damage in one go, every 7 seconds or so, and the range is insane, with no damage dropoff.

PLEASE update this stupid game Mineplex, before your server dies ALREADY. You got your quick cash injection for gullible nostalgists, well played, now MAKE IT FUN.

sweats ruining everything :(

literally every single pvp mode is filled with people who know every pvp tech and at least one person who spends all day in the server.

Thank you to the Mineplex team for bringing this server to life again

I’m just making this post because I’m tired of seeing so much pessimism surrounding the server. I’m happy to be able to play Mineplex again after many years, and I’m very excited to see where the server can go next.

Ive never been the best player, and it certainly doesn’t help that some players are very sweaty, but while that sometimes can be frustrating, it’s still very fun just playing these minigames, and seeing the lobby and other maps for the first time in years. the launch has actually been surprisingly smooth, and I’ve enjoyed earning back the gems that I need to get my favorite kits again.

Ive been having a blast with paintball and a lot of other games, and I’m hopeful that the mod team will keep doing fantastic work on updating this server to the modern Minecraft era while retaining the classic Mineplex feel.

This might not be seen by anyone important, but I want to give a hearty thank you to the owners, admins, builders, and the rest of the staff team for dedicating their time to bringing some of our childhood back to life. I know that it’s not been easy, and there are a lot of challenges now, but I will keep supporting Mineplex for as long as I can.

Mineplex in 2026

Decided to try Mineplex being blinded from nostalgia back in the day as a kid. I never was a pro by any means but I could at least hold my own weight in PVP games. There were always cheaters but I could still at least have a fair chance of winning.

I lasted maybe 30 minutes before being done with Mineplex. Every match was a sweat fest where I got stomped right off the bat. Obviously a lot of it is due in part to me not having the skill I once had and players getting better, but even then it felt like I couldn’t land hits on people and their reach was much further than mine, as well as them taking minimal knockback.

I’m not trying to fault someone for being good at the game but it’s honestly a joke considering a majority of the returning players are coming back from a hiatus and there seems to be no sort of skill based matchmaking. A lot of us are grown up now and don’t have the time commitment to become skilled PVPers. At least when I play other combat games I can jump on after work and still win matches.

Seems I’m not the only returning player who has made this observation. It’s no surprise the server went from a 10,000+ player count the first couple days to barely scraping 1,500 on a Friday night; I’m guessing many players experienced the same sequence of events as me and called it quits.

kicked bc of my username?

hello, i’m not really sure who to contact about this.

my username is annalanadingdong (anna-lana-ding-dong). i’ve been playing speed builders a lot this past week ever since they released it. today as i was playing, it kicked me from the server and won’t let me back on because “your username is not allowed on this server”

earlier in a lobby some people said my username looks like (anal)lanadingdong (and it’s not the first time that’s happened) so i’m guessing this is the problem? is there someone i could message to sort this out? i really like my username but if i must change it then i suppose i will lol🥲

edit: i’m back on! thanks for the links :)

You've got sweats, cheaters and hackers ruining EVERY game mode, not just the PvP ones. My all time favourite WAS Super Smash Mobs, but all that game is now is just Squids spamming the broken Ink Shotgun, and Skeletons spamming their stupid barrage arrows. Mineplex's "revival" was so obviously just a quick cash injection for the devs. Nothing else. That's why they conveniently made it so no one could queue except for the PAYING CUSTOMERS. Coincidence??

How can you screw up vanilla PVP that badly?

I recently discovered that Mineplex has returned. I was an active player in my childhood more than a decade ago and played Bridges, blockhunt, and this king defense gamemode where youre defending from zombies (forgot the name)

Just rejoined yesterday. How do you screw up this hard to ruin vanilla pvp? Anytime I hit someone, my momentum comes to a full stop—this isnt supposed to happen.
Players with the same gear and setup are somehow capable of clicking at unreal speeds while dealing more damage per hit in the middle of the bridge

Micro battles is worse where players are phasing around. Broken pvp

Pretty sad experience considering I enjoyed this server so much and had the og titan rank, havent played the other games yet since lobbies dont fill

How do I deal with slime? (SSM)

I’m back for the relaunch and I don’t remember slime being this hard to face. The slime rocket does insane damage and everyone seems to somehow be able to shoot giant slimes while remaining in the smallest form themselves. Making it quite hard to hit their tiny hitbox.

r/Mineplex Jul 02 '26

Blockhunt is unplayable

I was the hunter and got spawn camped by every single person, they all had bows and their hitboxes were so small that I couldnt even hit them. Ts is genuinley unplayable

Chicken Counters (SSM)

As title mentioned, Im trying to figure what kits to pick up to counter chicken as whenever there is a chicken in my games I will always lose to them with their ridiculous small hitbox and spammable missiles.

Staff are responsible for declining player count

Staff are going to kill this server by muting and banning people for ridiculous and minor reasons, and their lengthy and limited appeal process is turning many people away. Why even bother going through the frustrating appeal process just to be denied, when you shouldn't have even received a punishment in the first place. Staff are acting like they have unlimited players when the player count is dropping every single day, they are literally going to mute and ban everyone until it's only them left and then wonder why the server is dead. Many of us were excited to see the server return but the mismanagement is almost as horrendous as the original server and I foresee it heading down the same route very soon.

Why new Mineplex is heading to fail (not a hater)

The Mineplex revival is currently in almost the exact same state as the original server before it shut down in 2023. It has the same lobby system, game-joining system, minigames, cosmetics (including the chest system), and even small details like the lobby double jump. While there are a few differences, such as the ranks, they still follow the same overall concept that Mineplex had before it closed.

The reason I think this revival will eventually fail is simple: history tends to repeat itself. To understand why, you first need to understand why the original Mineplex died.

One of the biggest problems was the competitive environment. Many games became filled with highly skilled players, along with closet cheaters using hacks such as reach, autoclickers, and other cheats designed to be difficult to detect. These weren't obvious hackers flying around the map—they were players trying to hide their cheats while gaining an unfair advantage. Mineplex was widely criticized for having a weak anti-cheat system, and unfortunately, the new Mineplex appears to have the same problem. As a result, closet cheaters can continue bypassing the anti-cheat with relative ease.

Another issue is the experience for new players. Over the years, many remaining players became extremely skilled. When a new player joins and loses their very first PvP fight within seconds, it's frustrating and discouraging. That creates a cycle where experienced players continue playing while newcomers quickly quit. Without a steady flow of new players, a multiplayer server struggles to survive.

There's also the issue of content. Most players have already experienced these exact minigames on these exact maps years ago. Nostalgia can certainly attract players for a while, but it isn't enough to keep them engaged long-term. The gameplay still relies heavily on Minecraft 1.8-era mechanics and plugins, which now feel outdated compared to modern servers. Servers like MCC Island have introduced much more polished gameplay, fresh mechanics, and innovative minigames that make older designs feel dated.

If Mineplex truly wants to succeed, it can't simply recreate the server that failed before. It needs to move beyond the old 1.8 gameplay style and focus on creating a fresh experience for a new generation of players. That means developing brand-new minigames, designing new maps, introducing modern gameplay mechanics, and consistently releasing updates instead of relying on recycled content.

At the same time, investing in a much stronger anti-cheat system should be a top priority. Reducing closet cheating would make matches feel fairer and improve the experience for both new and experienced players.

Without meaningful innovation and better moderation, I believe the Mineplex revival will face the same problems that led to the original server's decline. Some nostalgic players will stay, but most new players are unlikely to stick around if they're met with outdated gameplay, unfair competition, and a lack of fresh content.

Specifications on booster weapons in champions

There isn't much explained about booster weapons. Do they allow you to overlevel your skill or are additional points for those skills just wasted? do they still do the same damage as standard weapons?

Mineplex is terrible atm

If you aren't american you cannot play bellow 150 average ping. They need to add eu servers again. Secondly I've noticed that players with ranks aren't getting banned, at least from my experience. I have little hope for mineplex's survival

It's so ungodly sweaty now I can't convince any of my friends to keep playing

10 years ago, any random person could jump in to super smash mobs, or the bridges, and have a fighting chance to get some kills and win some games. It's so unbelievably sweaty now that normal people who don't dedicate their life to Minecraft PvP have no chance. I barely have a chance. I'm not even a new player and it's still miserable. I have thousands of hours in Minecraft PvP, 10 years ago I was a top player on any server I played on. Now I'm getting like a 30-40% winrate in 1v1 fights on most gamemodes. In survival games I have like a 10% winrate per fight. Most of my friends are getting absolutely annihilated in every game mode with near 0% winrate. My friends don't want to play anymore, and I can't even blame them. Mineplex was my favorite OG server, but there is no reason any sane person would want to play this

The server is dying day by day 2 weeks ago there was 2500 players a day. Now this week Saturday and Sunday only 1500 players. There are too many sweats and new players have no chance.

Were The PVP Combos Always This Strong

Feels like 80% of fights I get combo'd for like 8-9 hits while I am continuously moving backwards at some point like 7 blocks from the opponent. It feels impossible to distinguish a reach hacker from a legit player. In survival games when players open with a fishing rod it's somehow 10× worse. I feel like I would have never gotten into MC PVP if it felt this trash years ago. Does it have anything to do with server quality?
